Come and join this amusing yoga retreat with Carmen Sanchez suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. You will be guided to live a body-mind experience through yoga asana combined with Hatha yoga and gentle flow from the therapeutic point of views. You will be dancing your asana following your own music which is your breath. Throughout the retreat, Carmen will let you learn more about body alignment and yoga postures.

Samaná Ocean View Resort has 14 private bungalows, all of which are equipped with a queen-size bed, bed linen, towels, night table, reading lamp, table and chairs, ceiling fan, and closet. Each room also has a bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. Most importantly, there are cozy balconies or fully-openable windows facing the ocean with breathtaking views of the Samaná peninsula.
The main building includes a large open living space and one seating area, a bar, a barbecue grill, a sound system, free Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a swimming pool that can be used 24 hours a day and a private estate surrounded by tropical vegetation with plenty of space to relax.

Yoga is rather a way of life which is about compassion, mindfulness, and truthfulness. The atmosphere on this retreat is quiet and, except for the daily yoga hours, your time is your own to read, swim, sleep, and enjoy. Much emphasis is placed on healthy, diverse, and fresh food to accompany the experience.
The yoga classes will be suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike which will include basic breathing exercises (pranayama), a series of asanas, sun salutations or surya namaskar, a deep relaxation using yoga Nidra, and a gentle introduction to meditation.
On the arrival day, you will be welcomed by the yoga instructor and provided with information on the accommodation. The rustling palm trees and twittering birds will soothe you as you start your day. Rested and fresh, you will start the morning with a 90-minute yoga class which cleans, stretches, and strengthens your body.
Afterwards, a healthy and plentiful breakfast buffet will be waiting for you. Then, you will have some free time to enjoy the tranquility at the resort and relax by the pool or in the bungalow overlooking the sea. You can also go to one of the many nearby beaches. The second 90-minute yoga class will take place in the afternoon that will be performed in a more relaxed and meditative way.
In the evening, a healthy and delicious dinner will be served. On Saturday, you will enjoy a special workshop lasting several hours and the practice of yoga that will be intensified and amplified. The next day will be your departure day. You will enjoy one last early morning yoga session and a mutual farewell breakfast before you leave.
Explore the undiscovered treasures of the Samaná peninsula. The plan is to go on a full-day hike with visits to Boca del Diablo, Playa Frontón, and the rural area around Las Galeras. Walk along the unspoiled coastline, discover different fruits and vegetables while hiking along the cultivable land, and get to know the village life in La Guázuma. It is a strenuous 18-kilometer hike that is worth all the efforts.
Carmen Sanchez is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher. She took her first yoga class 15 years ago and realized that yoga was what she needed. Since then, Carmen has been feeling the healing power of yoga in her life. In her own words, yoga is more about an inner shape which sculpts your mind. Carmen has her own style where she combines Hatha and gentle yoga with dance. In 2012, she received her yoga teacher certification and kids yoga training in Orlando, Florida.

During your retreat, you will be provided with six hearty breakfast buffets and sumptuous dinners. During your free time, you may enjoy activities like a trip to the Salto El Limon waterfall, zip lining at Playa El Valle, visit the Los Haitises National Park, horse riding, quad-excursions, scuba diving, or dancing lessons.
The waterfall of Salto El Limon is located amidst a lush tropical landscape on the peninsula of Samaná, approximately an hour away from Las Galeras. This spectacular waterfall drops 150 feet into a natural, beautiful pool filled with fresh and crystal clear water.
Playa Frontón and Playa Rincón are often named as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic. By boat, you can explore both of them in one day. In the morning, you can go to Playa Frontón, a secluded, palm-lined, and remote beach, where every dream of a paradise comes true. Later on, you can head to Playa Rincón for even more quality beach time.
The national park Los Haitises that can only be reached from the ocean is considered one of the must-see attractions in the Dominican Republic. It has a surface of 826 square kilometers and offers an unbelievable number of protected animals and plants. The park features a large lagoon Bahia, San Lorenzo, rivers, mangroves, jungles, and mystical stalactite caverns.
There is Playa Fronton, a perfect snorkeling spot with its impressive panorama that can be reached by boat or a horse.
Playa Madame is a romantic natural beach in Las Galeras that has small supermarkets, restaurants, and reachable beach huts. There, you can drink Dominican rum together with the locals or book a boat trip with the local fishermen.
The closest beaches are Playa Grande (the main beach in Las Galeras) and the especially beautiful white sandy beach, Playita beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic.
In El Valle, you can go on one of the most spectacular zip lines of the country. Enjoy the scenery, have a blast, and get your adrenalin ready in the longest zip lining in El Valle which is more than 1200 feet in length and over 450 feet in height. You can also enjoy the beautiful surrounding with jumping.
