People tend to focus on things that matter least and forgot about all the real things, the ones that make them feel happy at peace and confident. During this retreat, you will be going to share, to live, and to learn from yourself and others. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced yogis are welcome. Classes will be made in such a way that everyone can find pleasure in it. Each participant will be supported to perform the exercises accurately, receiving the full attention of the yoga instructor which is why classes are limited. Advanced learners will be encouraged and corrected while holding longer poses (asanas) and beginners will receive a gentle introduction. Please inform CaribeYoga prior to the arrival of any injuries or surgeries in the past six months, chronic diseases, food allergies, or pregnancy.
You will go to a beautiful beach to spend a moment of tranquility and enjoy nature with a spectacular view.
You will explore the undiscovered treasures of the Samaná Peninsula. The plan is to go on a full-day hike with visiting Boca del Diablo, Playa Frontón, and the rural area around Las Galeras. Starting with a boat in Las Galeras, you will arrive on Playa Fronton after 30 minutes.
There, you will stay for two hours, enjoying the beach and the sea as well as drinking fresh coconut water. Then, you will walk along the unspoiled coastline, discover different fruits and vegetables while hiking along the cultivable land, and get to know the village life in La Guázuma. You will feel all the efforts by experiencing the natural way of the Dominican Republic.
Only three minutes with a boat, you will arrive a small private Island where you will see a beautiful sunset.
The waterfall “Salto El Limon” is located amidst a lush tropical landscape on the peninsula of Samaná, approximately an hour away from Las Galeras. This spectacular waterfall drops 150 feet into a natural, beautiful pool filled with fresh, crystal clear water.
You will reach the top of the waterfall on horseback and then hike downwards through the tropical jungle until you reach the bottom of this roaring cascade where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the big natural pool.
The bay of Samaná is one the main areas where the humpback whales migrate to in winter. You will go on a guided excursion by boat and watch those giants in the sea in their natural environment. After whale-watching, the trip will continue to the small island of Caya Levantado, also called the “Bacardi Island”.
This island has a white sandy “dream” beach with shallow waters sloping gently into the water. A delicious lunch will be served here. Before returning by boat, you will have time to enjoy this beach or to explore Bacardi Island.

The closest beaches are Playa Grande (the main beach in Las Galeras) and the especially beautiful beach, Playita. Both can be reached within 15 minutes by car or motorbike.

Every year, more than 1000 humpback whales migrate from the Polar Regions into the Bay of Samaná for mating season. From mid-December to the end of March, you can observe this great spectacle directly from Samaná Ocean View Resort. There are also regular boat excursions from Las Galeras if you prefer a closer look.

Miles of white sand and some little shacks who sell you a fresh coconut or a cooled cocktail is what you can expect there. Maybe, CaribeYoga should mention the turquoise water and the stunning scenery as well.

It has a surface of 826-square kilometers and offers an unbelievable number of protected animals and plants. The park features a large lagoon “Bahia San Lorenzo”, rivers, mangroves, jungle, and mystical stalactite caverns. This region was already settled or often visited by early Indians called “Tainos” long before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. Rock carvings (petroglyphs) on the walls of many caves in this area are proof of their existence.
In the morning, you leave with a boat from close to Sanchez, going to explore the Los Haitises National Park. Among approximately 120 different bird types, you might catch sight of the “Palm Chat” (Cigua Palmera), the national bird of the Dominican Republic. With some luck, you might also see the very rare Caribbean Manatees (from the family of “Round Tailed Sea Cows”) in the waters or in the surrounding mangroves.
