26 Day 250 Hr Yoga Alliance Foundational Level Yoga Teacher Training Course in Costa Rica

Facilities

This course has two half days off and three full days off through your 26-day experience. If you will require more time to explore the area, please book additional days to stay in Puerto Viejo. There is not a lot of free time built into your intensive schedule for sightseeing. Courses start at 3:00 p.m. (check-in) on the first scheduled date of the program. All the trainings end at 11:00 a.m. (check-out) on the last scheduled date of the program.

The main style that you will study and acquire proficiency to teach is a Vinyasa style of practice. Caribe Yoga Academy titles it Karuna Flow. Karuna is one of the Sanskrit words meaning compassion. This style has a firm foundation in functional anatomy, prop usage, and allowance for adaptation so that each student can make the class right for their unique body and practice.

Sometimes, there is supplemental reading suggested. There will also be several playful group presentations and projects which will require you to gather with your group and plan outside of contact hours. In addition, students complete a mid-course and final exam.

Mouth-watering vegetarian breakfast, lunches, and dinners will be served daily during this training. Gluten-free and vegan options are also available by special request. Caribe Yoga Academy can also accommodate food allergies. As much of the food as possible is sourced from on-site organic gardens and locally from the community. This is truly a labor of love that can be seen and tasted with each serving and is often one of the highlights of many tired students' experiences.

You will experience a blend of the best in Caribbean flavor with a selection of international favorites. When you are onsite at OM at Cashew Hill, you can truly experience farm to table living. The organic farm and garden grow herbs, fruits, and vegetables to support the Caribe Yoga staff working hard in the kitchen. You might catch the scent of fresh Thai basil or Vietnamese cilantro wafting through the air as you walk through the retreat center.

They use composting for the leftovers of each meal to return these nutrients back to the Earth and nourish your plants and your bodies. Every day, you will be serving fresh juices, coffee, tea, smoothies, and much more. Here is a general idea of what to expect at each meal:

If you are feeling adventurous, Caribe Yoga Academy can organize a series of excursions and tours for you at an additional cost. Puerto Viejo is full of fun adventures and explorations for your free time. Try a surf class, pop into the spa for a massage or Reiki, go horseback riding, hike waterfalls, visit the indigenous reserve or chocolate house, take a bike cruise, spot the local wildlife, or simply beach hop on 14 kilometers of pristine Caribbean beaches on your days off from training.

You can book spa treatments for an additional cost. The ocean view spa at OM is open and has a carefully selected team of local therapists ready to serve you. Whether you are seeking bodywork, energy work, or clarity breath-work services, fantastic therapists are ready to offer you a variety of amazing holistic health treatments.
