Sarah Hrdlicka

Sarah Hrdlicka is a co-owner of Cape LaHave Adventures. Sarah has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. She has been fortunate to study with a number of inspired teachers from several lineages of yoga including Elizabeth Emberly, Francois Raoult, and Richard Rosen. Her personal practice ranges from a vigorous flow, to Restorative, and Yin practices. As a certified yoga teacher (RYT 500hrs), she aims to help students find balance, beginning on the mat and continuing off into the world. She is particularly interested in the intersections between ecology, meditation, and yoga. Sarah enjoys taking her practice outdoors, to a quiet beach, or a floating paddle board. In the winters, when she’s not guiding trips and teaching yoga in Nova Scotia, she runs a ship-based wellness and yoga program in Antarctica.

The retreat will take place in LaHave, South Shore, Nova Scotia, Canada. LaHave island is the most renowned coastal paddling destination in the South Shore of Nova Scotia. The LaHave archipelago consists of over twenty islands that cover 100 square kilometers of pristine beaches, open ocean, protected waters, tight channels, expansive bays, coastal wilderness, and signature maritime fishing settlements.

Located only 1.5 hours from Halifax and 25 minutes from either Bridgewater or Lunenburg, you will feel a world apart as the ocean breeze clears your mind and awakens your senses. Traveling by sea kayak is an ideal way to experience this beautiful and dynamic coastal landscape, it’s wildlife, and it’s history.

"I highly recommend this sea kayaking experience. Everyone in our group of seven (3 adults, 2 teens, and 2 kids) were rewarded with something that made this excursion unique for them. From the private beach break to watching the seals to exploring mystic coves, we were all very satisfied. Our guides, Sarah and Logan, went out of their way to ensure everyone in our party was having a good time - all the while putting safety as a top priority. The islands will enchant you and the sea life and salt air will invigorate you. This is a must for anyone traveling or living on the South Shore of Nova Scotia!"

"My husband and I spent super day kayaking with Cape LaHave Adventures. Sarah was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area and all the wildlife we saw (loved the 'singing' seals). Quality of the equipment was great. We've been on several sea kayaking trips and this was by far the best! Is was nice to be in such a small group and the flexibility that this offered. Although the weather wasn't as sunny as we had hoped, it was actually really nice to be out on the water in the mist, which did clear up for much of the trip. We pre-booked before traveling to the area which turned out to be a good idea as our preferred day was fully booked. Thanks again Sarah!"

"This was by far one of the highlights of our trip to Nova Scotia. It was magical to kayak into the sunset. Our guide Sarah was a sweet and kind soul that made our experience memorable. It's quiet time, listening time, and time to take photos. We would recommend this adventure to everyone! It's open and flexible to our unexpected late arrival. "

"My son and I spent 3 memorable hours kayaking with Sarah and it was an incredible adventure; better than any material gift. The day was gray and misty, perfect! We danced with the waves although we weren't yet in step, we played hide and seek with the seals, watched cormorants glide over the water, and did yoga on a deserted stretch of an island. We enjoyed every minute of the adventure. Thanks to Sarah for being such a lovely guide, and thank you to both Sarah and Scott for showing the beauty of the North Atlantic while caring for the environment. We will definitely be back!"

"Sarah is so kind and patient. She took my husband and I out on a very leisurely kayak half-day trip. We watched and were watched by the local seals. Sarah interpreted and chatted and helped me get the kinks out with a private beach yoga session. This was a perfectly wonderful way to de-stress. Thank you Sarah! "
