Unwind and indulge in a transformative week of yoga practice and theory. Eat clean, reconnect with nature, and meet like-minded friends. The retreat is available on the least crowded months of the year on Sri Lanka's south coast, when the sun still shines and the waves still work around Weligama, a short tuk-tuk ride away. The south coast is a paradise found, with perfect sandy beaches for you to enjoy, and with the best waves for surfers.
Camp Poe is a boutique surfcamp and yoga retreat based in Ahangama on the south coast of Sri Lanka. It comprises eight large luxury double tents and three bungalows for you to stay in.
There are five home cooked evening meals served per week, as dinners on Wednesdays and Saturdays are not included in the price of this retreat. You can buy your lunch either at the camp cafe or at a local restaurant across the road.
After a powerful and healthy breakfast, find a shaded hammock and read a book from the little library, relaxing your body from the morning surfing and yoga. Recharge your batteries by the swimming pool, and get ready for the afternoon yoga session. After a nutritious dinner with new friends, enjoy each other's company exchanging stories. Find a restful sleep under the shooting stars, drifting off to the sounds of nature and ocean waves.
Yoga is a big part of Camp Poe, as it is a great way to promote health, vitality and mindfulness. Sessions run twice per day in a yoga shala set amongst luscious jungle and resident monkeys. Classes vary from Vinyasa to Yin, with a strong focus on yoga for surfers. There is also a collection of yoga books for you to borrow during your stay!
You will get to visit an ancient Buddhist temple during your stay in Sri Lanka.
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Quantum Yoga)
Ben is a surf and yoga teacher from the UK and has been living in Sri Lanka for the past 2 years. He is a part owner of Camp Poe, and will also be hosting the yoga retreat with his business partner, Till. Ben is trained in Vinyasa yoga with Quantum Yoga's Lara Baumann.
Yoga Alliance RYT 300
Jess is from the UK and has dedicated her life to yoga. She now lives in Sri Lanka, where she teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga. Jess is also a keen surfer!
This retreat will take place at Camp Poe, in Ahangama, Sri Lanka. It is located on the Galle-Matara road, opposite to the Sagara Hotel, on the land side. Look for the Camp Poe sign, and you will find it more easily. The camp resides in a growing Eden of relaxation, situated on the golden south coast of Sri Lanka. Here you will find yourself watching the sunrise, meditating in the waves of the local surf spot, and enjoying the Pura Vida!

All food is freshly prepared each day in the campsite kitchen. All dietary requirements can be catered for, and vegetarian and vegan options are available.
Daily breakfast buffets and five home cooked dinners are included in the price. There are no evening meals on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Local lunches are provided in exchange of a donation, and arranged by Mamma, the camp host.
In your free time, you can take up surfing and Sinhala (Sri Lankan dialect) lessons for an extra fee. SUP classes are also available, and you can practice on the river. If you are feeling adventurous, explore the local area with its colorful markets and ancient temples, hire a scooter, go on a lake safari or visit a tea plantation. Art materials and darts board are also provided.
Massages are available at an additional cost.

Please book your flight to arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), also known as Colombo Airport. Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request.
Please notify Camp Poe by email and they will make the arrangements. The transfer is 95 USD per taxi per way or 180 USD per taxi for return, and will take approximately three hours.
If you are feeling adventurous, you can make your own way to the camp via bus. You will need to get a tuk tuk or taxi to Negombo, then get a bus to Matara, followed by a bus to Ahangama.
