Come and visit this magical place with an open mind and an inquisitive heart. This educational yoga retreat will allow you to enjoy yoga, walking in nature, meditation, chanting, an introduction to and experiential practice of various spiritual traditions, T'ai Chi Chih, interactive creative art, journaling, and more. Only three retreat dates (spring, summer, and fall) are set for 2019 and space is limited, so sign up soon. Private retreats can also be scheduled if you have eight or more participants in your group.

This five-night and six-day yoga pilgrimage invites you to participate in morning yoga and meditation, followed by a walk to one of over a dozen spiritual centers that will be visited during the retreat. You will learn about and experience various spiritual wisdom traditions and then in the evenings, enjoy intimate open discussion followed by evening T'ai Chi Chih (a moving meditation practice) or Restorative yoga. A special half day yoga session will be provided mid-week in addition to the morning and evening practice options.
This yoga pilgrimage is limited to from eight to 15 participants and encompasses a 'journey inward as you spiral outward'. Bring your sleeping bag and good walking shoes. All meals, accommodations (inside with beds or mattresses for your sleeping bag since you are on pilgrimage), luggage transfer, and a guide are included in this retreat. Upgrades to local bed and breakfasts can be included for an additional fee. Luggage will be transferred for you.
You will be walking at 8,000 feet at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on dirt roads and footpaths. Approximately 18 to 20 miles will be walked over the six-day retreat so it is not excessive hiking. The pace will be relaxed with plenty of time to absorb the learning and the experiences. This is a pilgrimage and an opportunity to be in nature and also to journey within yourself. Others have said this was 'a life-affirming and life-transforming pilgrimage'.
This fabulous yoga and spiritual pilgrimage takes place at about over 8,000 feet and requires walking on uneven ground and up and down some hills. While the walks are not especially long. They do require walking at this higher altitude. Please make sure you are ready for this type of pilgrimage. This is a sample day only. The final schedule will be similar to this but not always the same. A special yoga class will be offered mid-week and a sacred dance performance and participatory nacha yoga session will also be included in this pilgrimage.
Visits to over a dozen different spiritual traditions such as Buddhism, Sufiism, Christianity, Buhn Tibetan, Native American (possible sweat lodge), Zen, Sri Aurobindo, sacred art, Shumei Japanese with Jyorei session, Haidakandi universal ashram (Babaji and divine mother), way of nature, KTTG Stupa, sacred dance, and more.
The schedule and locations visited may change due to potential location scheduling conflicts. However, there will always be over a dozen different centers, traditions, and locations to visit. Optional excursions to other recommended spiritual sites in and around Crestone will be recommended as on-your-own explorations following the pilgrimage.
Eliza Fulton, RYT 200 and certified Tái Chi Chih instructor. Eliza is a co-owner of the Camino de Crestone and owner or operator of the Best Kept Secret B&B in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Holistic Nutrition and is an Integrative yoga instructor in the process of completing her 500-hour certification. She is also an accredited Tái Chi Chih instructor, a moving meditation practice incorporating 19 moves and one pose. She has practiced over 35 years and is one of the leading guides and instructors of the Camino de Crestone.
Mary Ezequelle, LCSW. Mary is a co-owner of the Camino de Crestone with a long history as a licensed clinical social worker counselor. For over 41 years, she has specialized in working with children, teens, individuals, and families to help them find their way through difficult and challenging times as both a counselor and foster parent. She is a certified healing touch, Reiki, and reflexology practitioner. Mary has herself been on a lifetime spiritual quest. She is one of the leading guides for the Camino de Crestone Pilgrimage.

One could stay and enjoy the nearby hot springs and spas and visit other spiritual centers or the Great Sand Dunes. One could also hike in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains or just sight-see by car over the many scenic by-ways of Colorado.
