Program

This five-night and six-day yoga pilgrimage invites you to participate in morning yoga and meditation, followed by a walk to one of over a dozen spiritual centers that will be visited during the retreat. You will learn about and experience various spiritual wisdom traditions and then in the evenings, enjoy intimate open discussion followed by evening T'ai Chi Chih (a moving meditation practice) or Restorative yoga. A special half day yoga session will be provided mid-week in addition to the morning and evening practice options.

This yoga pilgrimage is limited to from eight to 15 participants and encompasses a 'journey inward as you spiral outward'. Bring your sleeping bag and good walking shoes. All meals, accommodations (inside with beds or mattresses for your sleeping bag since you are on pilgrimage), luggage transfer, and a guide are included in this retreat. Upgrades to local bed and breakfasts can be included for an additional fee. Luggage will be transferred for you.

You will be walking at 8,000 feet at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on dirt roads and footpaths. Approximately 18 to 20 miles will be walked over the six-day retreat so it is not excessive hiking. The pace will be relaxed with plenty of time to absorb the learning and the experiences. This is a pilgrimage and an opportunity to be in nature and also to journey within yourself. Others have said this was 'a life-affirming and life-transforming pilgrimage'.

This fabulous yoga and spiritual pilgrimage takes place at about over 8,000 feet and requires walking on uneven ground and up and down some hills. While the walks are not especially long. They do require walking at this higher altitude. Please make sure you are ready for this type of pilgrimage. This is a sample day only. The final schedule will be similar to this but not always the same. A special yoga class will be offered mid-week and a sacred dance performance and participatory nacha yoga session will also be included in this pilgrimage.
