Calima Surf offers surf camps and adventure with diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, SUP, yoga, and hiking within the nature reserve of Famara and the best climate of Spain.
Melina was born in Argentina on 28 October 1987 and raised in Lanzarote. She fell in love with surfing when she was 17 years old, and since then it has become her passion and her way of life. She loves to travel and discover new places to practice surf. She is a lifeguard and FCS surfing instructor.
Itziar comes from Donosti. She is officially qualified as a leisure and entertainment supervisor as well as as a lifeguard and bikeride guide. She is also the community manager and is responsible for marketing. Before discovering surfing at 26 years old, she played and coached basketball. But the warm sea and waves brought her to the Canary Islands. She is extroverted, dynamic, and great with children. The only thing she hates is having to say goodbye to the children after every camp.

"Great Instructors on an amazing location "
Loved the istructors.. learnt so many tips so that I could improve really quickly over the 5 lessons. Really liked the fact that they would follow everyone attentively.
We had an amazing week of surf with the people of Calima Surf in the town of Famara. The conditions were very good the instructors are very good and the town is very nice. The accommodation is very close to the surfing spot within walking distance. We are booking it again to escape from London's winter!
My seven and eight-year old were really keen to try surfing and Calima Surf were amazing in their explanations and communications ahead of our lesson. I was confident that the boys' safety and enjoyment was paramount to them. We had the most fantastic afternoon. Anita was perfect with my boys, encouraging them, and helping them to catch a wave. They both stood up almost immediately and the two hours sped by. We went back again and hired wetsuits and boards as their choice of activity for our last day too. They've not stopped talking about it still! Thank you, Calima Surf.
The normal class schedule seems to be seven nights. However, Calima Surf School was very accommodating my request to go for a long weekend from Friday to Sunday in December. Early morning flight from London on a cold Friday morning, arriving in time for the afternoon class on a warm sandy beach in Lanzarote and full-day classes on Saturday. It was great! It was possible to hire equipment for Sunday and put your skills into practice. The team were very friendly, fun, and give great coaching tips. I'm looking forward to going back again soon! I wish I could have spent the full week and I would have learned so much!
