Saraswati believes Yoga can uplift every individual to live life to the full with grace, joy, and courage. Six nights luxury escape from Friday to Thursday, with Saraswati who teaches a very heart-centered yoga and who will teach Hatha and Restorative yoga as well as Yoga Nidra and meditation this week.
Come on your own, or with a friend. A great way to meet like-minded people and make new social connections. Burren Yoga has a wide range of en-suite bedrooms and also budget sharing rooms to choose from. You will be accommodated at Burren Yoga Retreat which has a wide range of en-suite bedrooms including:
The en-suite bedrooms are all very spacious, very bright with a large triple-glazed window, and super-insulated so they are warm in winter and cool in summer, underfloor heating, and excellent soundproofing. They also have an air ventilation system that continually brings in warm freshly oxygenated air. The beds are all extremely comfortable, with hotel-quality mattresses, Egyptian cotton bedlinen with high thread count, and a choice of a firmer pillow and a softer one.
All of the en-suite bedrooms have a small writing desk, a comfortable upholstered armchair, a hair dryer, a bedside reading light, electrically controlled blackout blinds, a bedside locker, a bedside USB charger, ample storage shelves, and a rail to hang your clothes or coats. All of the en-suite bathrooms have a heated towel rail and a spacious shower with plenty of hot water.
The budget bedrooms are in the older accommodation bungalow which is 30 seconds walk from the newly built ‘State of the Art’ retreat center building. The size and comfort and quality of the budget rooms are simple with shared facilities. They do not have many of the features or comforts that are in the new en-suite bedrooms. The en-suite bedrooms also have the convenience of being in the same state-of-the-art building where there is also the yoga studio, massage therapy rooms, dining room, tea/coffee making station, social lounge, quiet lounge, and reading area.
The yoga studio was designed according to sacred geometry. Sacred Geometry exists all around you creating the fundamental structure and templates of life in the universe. This ancient science is used to create the best possible energetic spaces for one’s spiritual and mental well-being.
The ancients considered the experience of Sacred Geometry to be essential to the education of the soul. These spaces are conducive to higher consciousness and self-awareness. Sacred geometry amplifies your connection to spirit, and creates harmony within yourself, and between yourself and the outside world. It is often called “sacred architecture” because it underlies everything and is woven into the fabric of all creation.
One of the very important ingredients on the retreats is the famous amazing vegetarian food. You will eat breakfast and dinner in the dining room. There are also teas, coffees, and the chef’s homemade fermented drinks as well as fruit and snacks available at all times in the dining room.
Sometimes it is lovely to simply sit knowing that nobody will talk or disturb you and that you may relax in silence. Possibly to read a book. Or maybe to just relax quietly.
Tuck yourself away and enjoy a book about yoga or the Burren from the library.
The social lounge has beautiful views over the Burren hills. This is a lovely place to put your feet up, relax and socialize and get to know the other guests.
The massage rooms are spacious, bright, and airy with electric blinds on the windows, so the room can be as bright or as dark as needed. Dave has hand-picked the best masseuses so you are always guaranteed a very good massage. The air ventilation system continually brings in fresh air, and you can also open the windows if preferred.
Located in the legendary landscape of The Burren on the West coast of Ireland. The Burren is all around you where there are:
Saraswati believes yoga can uplift every individual to live life to the full with grace, joy and courage.
Her teaching style is light hearted and open, offering freedom within the form through breath and delight in movement. She infuses Asana and Vinyasa practice with tantric teachings, mantra, mudra and devotional awareness.
The intention of this week-long retreat is on awakening the compassionate heart.
You, like many people, have all been through very stressful times in the past few years, and it is important that you show yourself compassion. And through these practices, as you rebuild your own physical, mental, emotional and energetic self that you can reach out and be more compassionate to others.
Saraswati is a very experienced teacher and can teach as gentle as you would like on this retreat. Or if you prefer, Saraswati can also give you more challenging practices. There is a meditation class in the morning and evening each day, and one of the benefits of the week-long retreats is that you can then take these practices home with you. There is a lovely variety of classes on this hatha and restorative yoga retreat. Each day you will experience yoga Nidra deep relaxation as well as the yoga classes.
All the classes, outings and meals are optional, so you are free to join all or some as you please during the week.
However over 95% of people relish the freedom of not having to decide or choose what to do each day and go with the full program which is a well-tried recipe that they have been running and improving on since 1999.
This Hatha and Restorative yoga retreat is suitable for complete beginners to intermediate.
Saraswati will give more gentle variations to anybody who needs it, and will also challenge those who are ready for it. There are no comparisons made between people, and this course is suitable for everyone.
A great way to meet like-minded people and make new social connections.
They have a wide range of en-suite bedrooms and also budget sharing rooms to choose from.
Every second day, as well as the usual classes listed on the typical day’s timetable above, you will have an additional afternoon class.
There will be daily outings into the Burren hills and by the sea.
Grainne has been practicing yoga for over 12 years and currently, she teaches a number of different styles of yoga including Yoga Flow, Yin yoga, Restorative yoga, Hot yoga and also Vinyasa yoga. She has always been very interested in the breath and how yoga can be so powerful at transformation on many levels but yet to the untrained eye looks so simple from the outside. Grainne likes to keep her classes varied and versatile so that students are kept on their toes and never know what to expect.
landscape has not changed much in the past thousand years.
The wide range of wildflowers attracts many types of butterflies and insects which in turn support a wide range of bird life. The wild goats play an important part in the biodiversity and they keep down the scrub and hazel trees so that the wildflowers can flourish during the Spring and Summer months.
The limestone hills heat up during the Summer months and slowly emit their heat over the Winter months. Combined with the fresh warm air blown in over the Gulf Stream, this produces a very mild climate in Winter. It is often 5 degrees warmer in the Burren than in Dublin during the Winter. The Burren is the only place in Ireland where the farmers leave their cattle outdoors during the Winter.
The sea is noticeably warmer than the east coast, and many swimmers look forward to refreshing swims on the retreats.
Burren Yoga is famous for its food and so many people have said they would come back time and time again just for the amazing vegetarian food. The chef will prepare all your vegetarian meals included in the price with organic and locally sourced vegetables and the finest ingredients.
