Enjoy a weekend of luxurious simplicity in the beautiful Burren. Loving care yoga weekend and meditation at the Burren Yoga Retreat on the west coast of Ireland.
You will be accommodated at Burren Yoga Retreat which has a wide range of en-suite bedrooms including
The en-suite bedrooms are all very spacious, very bright with a large triple glazed window, super-insulated so they are warm in Winter and cool in Summer, underfloor heating, and excellent soundproofing. They also have an air ventilation system that continually brings in warm freshly oxygenated air.
The beds are all extremely comfortable, with hotel-quality mattresses, Egyptian cotton bedlinen with high thread count, and a choice of a firmer pillow and a softer one. All of the en-suite bedrooms have a small writing desk, a comfortable upholstered armchair, a hair dryer, a bedside reading light, electrically controlled blackout blinds, a bedside locker, a bedside USB charger, and ample storage shelves and a rail to hang your clothes or coats. All of the en-suite bathrooms have a heated towel rail and a spacious shower with plenty of hot water.
The budget bedrooms are in our older accommodation bungalow which is 30 seconds walk from the newly built ‘State of the Art’ retreat center building. The size and comfort and quality of the budget rooms are simple with shared facilities. They don’t have many of the features or comforts that are in the new en-suite bedrooms.
The en-suite bedrooms also have the convenience of being in the same state-of-the-art building where there is also the Yoga studio, massage therapy rooms, dining room, tea/coffee making station, social lounge, quiet lounge, and reading area.
The yoga studio was designed according to sacred geometry. Sacred Geometry exists all around us creating the fundamental structure and templates of life in the universe. This ancient science is used to create the best possible energetic spaces for one’s spiritual and mental well-being.
The ancients considered the experience of Sacred Geometry to be essential to the education of the soul. These spaces are conducive to higher consciousness and self-awareness. Sacred geometry amplifies your connection to spirit, and creates harmony within yourself, and between yourself and the outside world. It is often called “sacred architecture” because it underlies everything and is woven into the fabric of all creation.
One of the very important ingredients on the retreats is the famous amazing vegetarian food. You will eat breakfast and dinner in the dining room. There are also teas, coffees, and our chef’s homemade fermented drinks as well as fruit and snacks available at all times in the dining room.
Sometimes it is lovely to simply sit knowing that nobody will talk or disturb you and that you may relax in silence. Possibly to read a book. Or maybe to just relax quietly.
Tuck yourself away and enjoy a book about yoga or the Burren from the library.
The social lounge has beautiful views over the Burren hills. This is a lovely place to put your feet up, relax and socialize and get to know the other guests.
The massage rooms are spacious, bright, and airy with electric blinds on the windows, so the room can be as bright or as dark as needed. Dave has hand-picked the best masseuses so you are always guaranteed a very good massage. The air ventilation system continually brings in fresh air, and you can also open the windows if preferred.
Located in the legendary landscape of The Burren on the West coast of Ireland. The Burren is all around you where there are:
Loving care yoga weekend and meditation at Burren Yoga Retreat on the west coast of Ireland. Two nights luxury escape from Friday to Sunday, with top-class yoga teacher Claudia Gutierrez who will teach a variety of types of yoga on this yoga weekend.
All of the above will make this an unforgettable and possibly the best weekend of your life.
Claudia teaches loving care yoga which she describes as all the yummy postures she loves as follows. Claudia’s classes on this yoga weekend will consist of a beautiful blend of gentle stretching and relaxing and restorative poses to melt away physical and mental tension and deeply rest the mind and body. You combine deep and yet easy stretches using yoga props (chairs, blocks, belts, and bolsters) and restorative poses to release the stress of your week and increase flexibility, range of movement, and posture.
They help you to create body awareness so you can easily adjust your posture during your normal day to avoid unnecessary tension in the muscles and areas more prone to generate physical pain (back, neck, and shoulders). The focus will be to calm and nurture yourself on all levels during the classes this yoga weekend. Including positive affirmations, visualizations, and chakra work and meditation to enhance the experience.
There is a meditation class in the morning and evening each day, and one of the benefits of the yoga weekend retreat is that you can then take these practices home with you. All classes, outings, and meals are optional, so you are free to join all or some as you please during the weekend. However, over 95 percent of people relish the freedom of not having to decide or choose what to do each day and go with the full program which is a well-tried recipe that they have been running and improving on since 1999.
This yoga weekend is suitable for complete beginners to intermediate. Claudia will give more gentle variations to anybody who needs it, and you will find the relaxation is profound during her classes. There are no comparisons made between people, and this course is suitable for everyone.
Daily outings into the Burren hills and by the sea.
Claudia Gutierrez is a very welcoming yoga teacher and you will feel instantly at ease when you meet her. Claudia has over 22 years of experience as a yoga teacher and prior to that a further 12 years as a Fitness Instructor and P.E. teacher. For many years she was Gymnastics Coach and Gymnastics Judge (besides her P. E. teacher work in Schools and as a yoga and fitness instructor) and has a great ability to encourage each person to do their best, while also enjoying themselves and not pushing too hard.
The Burren Yoga Retreat is located at the foot of the Burren hills nestled amongst the hazel trees. You are surrounded by a vast choice of special places in the Burren where we go for hill walks, nature trail walks, walks by the sea, beautiful beaches, and forests to explore. There are lovely places to swim in the sea or in a nearby lake which heats up during the summer.
The Burren is an area of spectacularly shaped limestone hills, which plunge down into the Atlantic Ocean on the west coast of Ireland. The Burren is a ‘UNESCO World Heritage Area’. It is famous for its wildflowers and botanists from all over the world come to the Burren to see the wide range of orchids as well as all the other wildflowers.
There are relatively few people living in the Burren and the landscape has not changed much in the past thousand years.
The wide range of wildflowers attracts many types of butterflies and insects which in turn support a wide range of bird life. The wild goats play an important part in the biodiversity and they keep down the scrub and hazel trees so that the wildflowers can flourish during the Spring and Summer months.
The limestone hills heat up during the Summer months and slowly emit their heat over the Winter months. Combined with the fresh warm air blown in over the Gulf Stream, this produces a very mild climate in Winter. It is often 5 degrees warmer in the Burren than in Dublin during the Winter. The Burren is the only place in Ireland where the farmers leave their cattle outdoors during the Winter.
The sea is noticeably warmer than the east coast, and many swimmers look forward to refreshing swims on the retreats.
