During the training, you will be accommodated at Buddha Yog Peeth. The classes are located in the same building as the accommodation, so teachers are easily accessible to students throughout the day.

The school is surrounded by the beautiful mountains and breath-taking views of Himalayas. The center is peaceful and bright providing an excellent location for your inner journey.

The yoga hall, dining area, open areas to sit, relax, and study are available in the school itself. Laundry service is also available at the building. The parking area is also made available to the students.

1. Mantra chanting

The purpose of mantra chanting in yoga is to generate vibrations and connect with the universe. Each mantra is special and carries a meaning which is rich with spiritual energy.

7. Yoga Nidra (psychic sleep)

Yoga philosophy is the foundation of yoga practice and is the key to earning yogic strength. Through the path of Vedanta philosophy, you will establish a solid, well-rounded yoga practice. You will explore Patanjali Yoga Sutras that include chapter 1 on Samadhi pada and chapter 2 on Sadhana pada.

11. Yoga therapy

Incorporating therapeutic yoga practices helps to address various physical, mental, and emotional disorders. Students will learn techniques for combating these issues through yoga.

12. Teaching practice (adhyapanam)

Students will take turns practicing their teaching skills by performing in front of their peers and teachers. There will be demonstration, alignment, and instructions.

Note

All classes are mandatory, only in case of an emergency or illness, one can take leave with the respected teacher's permission. Uninformed leaves won’t be accepted and this will affect students' monthly performance.

Prerequisites

A high degree of self-motivation is required for all aspects of the course. The practice and especially the teaching of yoga demands a high degree of self-discipline and purity. To ensure the success of the program, participants are required to attend all spiritual activities, meditation sessions, lectures, and asana classes.

Meat, fish, eggs, black tea, coffee, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and nudity are prohibited during the course as they are counterproductive to the yoga practice. Participants who do not comply with the school rules may be dismissed from the course.

Every Sunday, you will enjoy excursions to many tourist destinations in and around Rishikesh. The activities include river rafting in Ganges, exploring the natural treasures like beaches and waterfalls, meditating at Vashishtha cave, and experiencing blissful sunrise at Kunjapuri temple.

Retreat location

This teacher training course will be held near Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh, northern India. Situated near the main city of Rishikesh (Heart of Rishikesh) the venue is surrounded by forested mountains. Guests will not only get a feel of fresh air to breathe in, but will also get an opportunity to explore the sacredness of the land.

The divine vibrations coming from the surroundings are enhanced by the Ganges River, which enriches the entire experience. You can take a dip in this holy river and experience the divinity. Meditating here will bring you closer to the attainment of Moksha. The blissful moments are sanctified in the evening when priests conduct the famous Ganga Aarti and offer their prayers to the deity.

During the training, you will be served vegetarian breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening black tea. Pure filtered water will also be available for students at all times, free of charge. If you are fasting any day or having food outside the school, you have to inform the kitchen manager to avoid food waste.

If your flight arrives at Jolly Grant Airport (DED), free pickup will be arranged upon informing the Buddha Yog Peeth in advance about your arrival.

Arrival by train

From Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), another good option is to travel by train. You can reach the train station by car. Then, you can take the train to Haridwar. From Haridwar, you will reach Rishikesh by taxi.

Arrival by bus

From Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), another convenient option is to take bus, preferably overnight bus to Rishikesh from Delhi. The bus stand is 15 minutes away from Tapovan.
