There are rooms for every different taste and budget on this retreat. If you have a friend or a partner who would like to attend this retreat without partaking in any of the yoga, Bristol City Yoga will be able to offer them a discounted rate.

A retreat with Mel offers Restorative yoga, Yin yoga, and Nidra yoga, all of which will bring a deep sense of letting go in the body and mind, as well as encouraging good digestion, and a good night’s sleep. With teachings offered in a relaxed and informal way, you are invited to create exactly the kind of retreat that you need by doing as much or as little as you and your body need.

With discussions on how to take your practice off the mat and into your life, Mel’s passion for the transformative and healing power of yoga combined with the peaceful surroundings of the Somerset countryside will leave you feeling inspired, refreshed, and aware of your full potential.

  • Mel Skinner

Drawn to yoga for its power to heal and transform, Mel believes that yoga can empower, liberate, and connect you deeply to yourselves, and the world around you to give you courage and strength to live a heartfelt life.

Nestled in a secluded Somerset valley near Frome, 42 Acres combines exquisite beauty and environmental consciousness to create a venue that is inspiring like no other. They have used reclaimed materials to outfit the interiors of the property. All of their power is renewable and self generated through biomass and solar.

For New Year’s Eve, you will be served a sumptuous vegetarian feast to welcome in 2017 with a great fod and great company. Gently laying the ‘rule book’ to the side, you will toast a glass and warm your souls by gazing into the flames of a bonfire in the grounds. The food at 42 Acres is an incredibly special part of what they offer.

Everything is hand-made from fresh ingredients in the relaxed, sunny atmosphere of the farm kitchen, and their in-house chef draws on a deep practical knowledge of the cleansing properties of raw vegan foods, healing whole foods, and the nourishing properties of Paleo dieting. They pride themselves on an integrated and uncompromising food policy which is organic ingredients in almost every case, sourcing from world-class local small-scale artisan growers and producers.

This includes superb organic and raw goat, sheep, and cow’s dairy; organic sourdough baker, the chef’s own sauerkrauts, ferments and pickles; all oils are cold-pressed and organic, the use of celtic sea salt only, and a sugar-free kitchen.

"Thank you for your wonderful teaching. I came home feeling physically stronger, light, and happy. I wish I could bottle that, but I will certainly keep rolling out my yoga mat and working towards maintaining that. "

"I’d like to thank Laura for her support, understanding, and sense of humor with me through the week. Having done no yoga whatsoever before attending the retreat, it was very much a crash course. Thanks to Laura, I never felt like a beginner and came away having had a very positive experience both physically and mentally. "
