Erica Danielle

Erica left her career as a corporate lawyer to pursue her passions - yoga and coaching. She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and has had a deep love for it since her very first class - a donation class in New York Citys Central Park. In 2012 to 2013, she owned a successful yoga studio in Holland, Breathe Amsterdam. After moving to Sint Maarten, she decided to continue Breathe on the island, making it her goal to share yoga and the philosophy of self-love through her yoga and meditation classes, her yoga prison program, writing, and life coaching.

Erica has practiced a variety of yoga traditions including Iyengar, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Bikram. Her practice and teaching style reflect a combination of the practices she enjoys - and even some Pilates to help target and train the deep core muscles - with strong emphasis on healthy alignment. She in a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 yoga teacher. She received her teaching certification from Rishikesh Yog Peeth yoga school in Rishikesh, India.

After making yoga an integral part of her life, Erica saw amazing improvements in her concentration and overall happiness. She also saw her asthma and the arthritis in her hands completely disappear. She is a believer in the healing power of yoga. Ericas classes are very upbeat. Many of them are taught to music. She especially enjoys working with people new to yoga. She believes in making sure that students are comfortable, learning, and most importantly, enjoying their experience. She welcomes questions during and after class.

Ali Duncan

Expressing herself as a yoga teacher has been very rewarding to Ali. She studied in India, where she learned so much more than yoga and meditation, she learned how to make yoga a part of her everyday life and not just while on her mat. Incorporating yoga into the different roles of her life has been rewarding. Being an intuitive healer, a wife, a mother of three, step mom of four, and now Maji (grandma) to a wonderful little boy, has made her more balanced and happy.

Ali loves seeing people grow in their practice, and experiencing her own personal evolution as well. She truly appreciates being able to share a big part of herself through her teachings, trainings, clearings, and spiritual guidance. Along with trainings and teaching yoga, Ali is an intuitive energy healer.

Elizabeth Rogers

Elizabeth Rogers has been practicing yoga for more than 16 years. In 2003, she received her teaching certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts, and has been teaching ever since. She was introduced to yoga following her recovery from breast cancer, and found that her practice was enormously helpful in regaining a sense of balance in her life. She then retired from a career in banking and systems analysis to pursue a more holistic path.

One of her greatest joys is to help people find and restore their center of calm, peace, and wellbeing using a gentle, spiritual, and nurturing approach through her teachings of yoga. Elizabeth is also a practicing Reiki master. Her classes are peaceful and restorative. Her voice and her wonderful energy make her classes the perfect place to get centered and relax.

Manja Weijers

Manja started doing yoga five years ago to gain more strength. Shes been hooked ever since. After just one class, she realized that she was interested in exploring the depths of yoga and even teaching herself. She has been teaching Power yoga now for 3 years. In the summer of 2014, she graduated with a degree in physical therapy, and she is eager to combine the two. At the moment, she is teaching yoga to patients with low back and shoulder pain, due to a weak core and instability, at a physical therapist practice.

Manja has been practicing daily for two years. Shes gained a lot more self-esteem, happiness, and peace through her practice. A headstand can really help to reduce stress. She thinks there is a type of yoga for every guest yoga teacher. Restorative, Yin, or Hatha in stressful times; Vinyasa, Power yoga. or Ashtanga when you need more energy and strength; Iyengar when you want to know more about the alignment of poses; and Kundalini, for example, if you are spiritually inclined. She brings all of her experience to her yoga class, but keeps the spiritual parts for the students themselves. She wants her students to feel that movement helps mood and makes them feel better, more relaxed, and happier.

The yoga teacher training will take place at La Plenitude, in Saint Martin in the Carribean. La Plenitude is located in the peaceful neighborhood of Friars Bay, an extension of the valley of Colombier near the beaches of Friars Bay and Happy Bay. The residence is 10 minutes away from Marigot and Grand-Case. La Plenitude comprises two buildings with six studios, in a big woodland park. The beautiful decoration create a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.

"I enjoyed my time at Breathe Yoga Teacher Training. Erica & Ali are very compassionate and they create a very supportive environment for the teachers to share. They also create a mindset that helps us to develop as teachers and appreciate the true meaning of yoga. "

"The location is beautiful. The sea is close by. The training is quite rigorous but Ali and Erica manage to throw in various experience along the way that continue to make it interesting and informative. A beautiful environment and a lovely practice to develop your potential as a yoga teacher. "

"I had such an amazing time. Erica and Ali are awesome and inspirational teachers. I have learned so much and these are things that I will take with me for the rest of my life. Erica & Ali were exceptionally organized. We went over everything that we needed to know and really built our confidence so that we can be great teachers. We left knowing better who we really are. I am very happy, I would recommend this teacher training to anyone. "

"What's not to love? Great teachers - in the past two weeks I've taken classes from both Elizabeth and Erica: they're skilled teachers who know what they're doing. As a regular yogi, I appreciated how comfortable they made everyone feel, even those who likely had never done a class. As always, it's your practise, so you can take it up a level, or modify - all from under a gazebo, staring out at the ocean and listening to the surf, heavenly! "

"I loved Elizabeth's soothing voice, twinkling eyes, and that she did moon salutations since we had a full moon! Her class was uplifting and relaxing. "

"Erica literally "glows" as she teaches, gives wonderful directions, and when I was there she did some flow, which I always enjoy. When I asked her how she learned a pose, she even offered to work with me afterwards on the beach - which was above and beyond (if only I hadn't had a boat to catch, my loss!). I find her empowering and inspiring at the same time."

"Tips: get there early to get a spot near the front to better hear the teacher (surf sounds can compete). It can get hot (lol) with some spots in the sun - consider sunscreen, bringing a hand towel to wipe your brow and perhaps a water bottle."

    "Mats are provided. "

"Give it a try, whether you're a newbie or an experienced yogi, young or "wise," and gentlemen: there were some of you there too!"

"I can not begin to explain how absolutely perfect my experience was with Erica and Ali, of Breathe Yoga SXM. They created a comprehensive teacher training that not only provides all the information and practicum necessary to effectively deepen your practice and teach classes, but have infused it with so much more. Their laser focus on personal growth and discovery allowed each and every one of us let go of the the beliefs and ideas that hold us back from being our true selves, in turn creating much more authentic teachers with the confidence to take on whatever life throws at us. "

"Erica and Ali's knowledge and love for yoga truly makes this training a unique and amazing experience. They've created a space for transformation that was open, honest and inviting. If you are looking to become a yoga teacher, deepen your practice, or just want to take a deeper look at your life, then this training is for you. There were seven students in total, creating a great atmosphere with lots of one on one time. We all left this training with exactly what we needed and so much more. I can not thank both Erica and Ali enough for sharing their beautiful practice, knowledge, joy and love with us. As a bonus the food and accommodations were top notch."

"I was apart of the Breathe Yoga Teacher program and it was one of the most special experiences of my life. I will take what I’ve learned with me for the rest of my life - through my trials and tribulations and the many great things to come - including medical school which I will start next month. I am also so grateful to the other participants for teaching me about myself and about life. To my instructors, the light in me honors the light in you. "

"If you’re considering taking a training with lovely Erica and Ali, you will be one of the most fortunate people out there. I came looking for certification. When I got here I realized very quickly that this is a very special place where a lot more happens than just getting your certification. Lots of internal and external healing also happens. I came in with just a bit of yoga practice, and I was able to learn a lot of amazing techniques on the physical level. But I was also struggling with a lot of physical pain so I felt at the beginning that I was in a very limited space. Within days a lot of shifts happened thanks to both Erica and Ali. We worked a lot of my physical limitations but also my emotional limitations as well. These two ladies are pretty spectacular people. Lots of healing. Within a week into the program, I didn’t feel any blockages or limitations because of the way they handled my body and mind with care. Just amazing growth. Now three weeks in, I feel very confident that I can not only teach a class but I can also heal myself and that’s pretty remarkable. I am very grateful to both Erica and Ali for being the most amazing healers. The certification was just the icing on the cake. This is the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I made really good friends in the program and I feel like I have extended family here now. You should definitely come and try it for yourself. "

"I highly recommend Breathe Yoga Teacher training. This process was not anything I expected a yoga teacher training to be. Erica and Ali showed us everything that you would want and expect from a yoga teacher training - the yin, vinyasa, all the basics, sanskrit, energy balancing, history of yoga. And they also went above and beyond to help us shine our own lights. They worked one-on-one with us. We did group projects and worked with each other. We really got to know what was holding us back from becoming our fullest selves.Where ever we go we can take with us what they gave us to shine forth and show others how to tap in to their potential. I’ll come away with many new friends and I know that we will be in touch. We all know the path that we went on with each other and we can always come back to that. We’re ready and very grateful for the experience. You can’t get a better experience than the one I got here. "

"I wanted to do a teacher training for a long time with the intention of deepening my practice and being able to do yoga independently instead of having to rely on classes. So I came to this training really expecting to focusing on asana and flows and physical aspects and I got all of that. It was fantastic. I learned a lot and I got really strong. We worked for three weeks doing four or five hours everyday, so physically I feel I’ve really gained a certain strength. But this was so much more than getting physically fit. Erica and Ali put a lot of effort and attention into the mind body connection, your mindset, your thoughts, how your thoughts create your reality. You kind of rewire how you see yourself and how you think about yourself and your life, and they way to get closer to the life you want to live. That’s the thing you don’t expect. I feel that I was able to resolve some patterns in my life that I had been creating. Another aspect that I totally did not anticipate was the help that I received with some of the physical issues I had been experiencing through energy healing from Ali. I was able to loosen up tight areas that were affecting my yoga practice. Totally unexpected! It has been a totally amazing beautiful experience. I feel so light and cleansed both physically and mentally. It was so wonderful. Thank you so much Erica and Ali!"

Just a few months ago I was sitting at my computer hunched over and stressed and trying to find this program that’s going to change my life. And while that was a lofty expectation, it nevertheless came true. Erica and Ali have helped facilitate a transformation in my life. There’s not just one aha moment. There are many. I say to anyone considering this program, take the . I am so blessed divinely guided to have ended up at this program. Erica and Ali are with you every step of the program, and they will be with you when it is over. They will help you to realize that this life experience is all about you and it has always been. I highly recommend this training. I’ll be back for the 300-hour training!"

"I attended several yoga classes with Breathe owner-instructor Erica Danielle while staying at Simpson Bay Resort. The classes were outdoors, and very comfortable in the shade. Erica is a skilled experienced instructor. She helped with my poses-form, and encouraged my fellow classmates and I to push our comfort zones to gain confidence. I got in some wonderful workouts, and they were so pleasant - it just felt so good! The last day we were treated to a rainbow. It does not get better than that. Thank you Erica! See you next year."

"I was tricked into one of her classes by a colleague of mine and immediately loved it. Dealing with some back problems her classes turned out to be a great remedy, but also proved to be a great work out. Erica makes sure her classes have the right balance between exercise and relaxation. She is the type of teacher that really aims to help with sincere motivation. You won't find her in front of the group showing off, but helping you to get the best out of your hour of yoga and eventually to get you to the next level. I love Erica and her classes, and recommend her to everybody. Get a class with Erica and your body and mind will thank you afterwards!"
