Monte da Vilarinha is composed of little cottages surrounded by pines, hills, and valleys of pure nature and bliss. The setup is genuinely gorgeous with lots of greenery and lovely integrated architecture, a pool in the lovely garden, and a natural pool that gets water directly from the fresh stream that makes its way through the property. The wooden yoga shala will be your temple whilst in here.

'Breathe, Love, Yoga' is a personal and spiritual growth program, set up as three educational retreats to enjoy at your own pace. There is a storyline that links all these three retreats and that aims to provide you with experiences, tools, and techniques to bring home with you, so you can live life in a more wholesome and happier way altogether.

You can choose to attend one, two, or the three retreats. You can start with Breathe or Love alternatively. In order to attend Yoga, you are required to have attended the former two.

The program is set up as a beautiful experience with all the ingredients to nurture your body, your mind, and your soul. The program itself came up with the idea to fill a gap for those of you wanting to enjoy a beautiful holiday, but not to just leave it there.

For those of you who would like to relax during that week but also to carry that relaxation and wellbeing after the retreat is over. The whole idea is to get some nice techniques and tools to take back home, things that will help you live a better and happier life on a daily basis, not only when you are away in beautiful surroundings and with no daily life obligations, but always.

Breathe retreat program:

During this five-night stay, you will explore 'the awareness of the whole of who you really are'. This first retreat includes a program of yoga practices, meditations, pranayama (breathe work) and theory sessions all around becoming whole, understanding the self and all our many layers, moving towards accepting and loving ourselves in all our own individual ways.

This retreat requires a minimum of five participants. Latest, 1 month prior to the retreat, Breathe Love Yoga will get in touch with you to confirm the group has formed. If otherwise, they will move your booking to another date or give you the option to be refunded for the deposit.

Monte da Vilarinha is a countryside resort located in the municipality of Carrapateira, a small typical Portuguese white village, on the west coast of the Algarve region, just minutes away to the stunning beach of Bordeira. The closest beaches are Bordeira and Amado, both united by the stunning cliffs of Pontal da Carrapateira.

The region is Aljezur and is full of eco-farms, handcrafts, alternative life, surf and beautiful things, souls, and places. The region is simply magical. It might be the strength and amazing vibration of the Atlantic Ocean, the fact that the Aljezur region is situated just in the last point of mainland Europe, the winds from the different directions, the powerful and wild nature, the soul of Portugal. It all makes this a very special and energetic little hidden corner on earth.

Plant-based cooking

Antonia is a vegetarian for over 30 years. She has been cooking plant-based meals for over a decade now. What fascinated her back then was the creativity she developed to fill the gap on her plate.


Paying special attention to the principles of Ayurveda means to understand the healing effects of food. This traditional system of medicine is based on studying the unique conditions of each one. Looking at personal attitudes, intolerances, and being aware of how to bring joy and love to your dishes.


This means having an understanding of the needs of every group. Adjusting meals to the specific work they are doing here at Monte da Vilarinha by using ingredients and combinations that will support them for example in their meditation or yoga practice.


Monte da Vilarinha is giving its best to serve the fullest potential of ingredients. Foods are unprocessed, fresh, and locally sourced. They like to challenge yourself by providing as much as possible from local farmers and homemade.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Driving directions from Faro Airport (FAO)

  • Drive direction west, following the signs to Aljezur/Sines.
  • Once you leave the A22 and get into the regional road, drive for a few minutes until you see the exit to Monte Ruivo on your left.
  • Exit that road and follow it until you reach a junction to another main regional road.
  • Turn left, towards Bordeira / Carrapateira.
  • Drive pass the village of Carrapateira.
  • About 5 kilometers further up the road, you will see the sign towards Vilarinha and Monte da Vilarinha.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Faro Airport (FAO).

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 90 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
