Put your yoga practice into a larger context through this yoga teacher training in the stunning Lefkada island in Greece. Participants of this training will receive an integrated knowledge and understanding of the ultimate goal of yoga training.
Paleochori is a camp, located on the hills above the famous Nidri of Lefkada. It has taken its name from the wider area, where once was a village by the name of Paleohori, which in Greek means "old village". Four and a half wooded hectares of land, on a side hill that enjoys a breathtaking view of the Prigiponisia (a complex of seven islands, Meganisi, Skorpios, Skorpidi, Sparti, Madouri, Chelonia, and Tsokari).
The remote site of Paleochori camp offers only sounds of nature while the surrounding mountains provide a uniform evening shadow. You can reach the camp by a five-minute drive from Neochori or 15 minutes from Nidri. The land is cleared and leveled with a number of retaining walls more than a hundred years old that have been recently restored so that tents can be placed in different locations. The main element that stands out in the land is a large wooden patio of a whopping 95 square meters.
The space is also equipped with autonomous WC facilities, showers with hot water, and specially designed areas for resting in the shadow under the trees with swings and hammocks. The primal need was to treat the surrounding space with care and respect for the environment and all the living beings of the land. For that reason, they use only biodegradable soap and shampoo in the showers.
They also use solar panels for providing electricity to the land in order to charge phones, provide music, and light areas when needed. There are two open-air patios for yoga practice, one of 95 square meters in Paleochori Camp and one of 70 square meters in Food Path. You can have access to a washing machine for 3 EUR per use. The camp is properly designed as a safe space to place your own tent. You can also choose to sleep in a single bell tent or share the tent with another participant.
The guesthouse has triple rooms including air-conditioning, a small kitchen, a table, and a bathroom; double rooms with a shared bathroom and air-conditioning; and single rooms with a shared bathroom and air-conditioning. Food Path also has a vegetable garden, private parking, and a wooden patio used for classes.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

Pranayama, basic principles of yoga philosophy, as well as anatomy with emphasis on musculoskeletal system and kinesiology. Also alignment, meditation, cleansing, and chanting. The experienced yoga instructors teach the practice and explain the theory, helping the students to have a deep understanding of the ancient knowledge and how to apply it in everyday life.
Once you successfully complete this course, you will feel an important transformative experience in your life. You will learn how to start teaching with confidence, helping others to learn about yoga, through your own unique experience and astuteness. Also, it is an opportunity to intensify your own practice. It is a great place for those who are in search of health, happiness, peace, and harmony.
There are many books that analyze yoga positions and how to get into them properly, but the practice of yoga should preferably start with a qualified yoga teacher since it is not recommended to teach yourself. In the west, the focus is mostly on the postures of the body (asana) and practitioners hope to tone their bodies to the required shape. In this yoga teacher training course, you will follow the traditional Hatha yoga and keep on focusing on the following point: ‘’Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self’’ as it is written in the Bhagavad Gita.
The experienced and certified instructors during the course provide support and provide whole-heartedly all the information, knowledge, and guidance to the participants so that they may explore their physical, mental, and emotional limits in a safe manner. The course is an intense experience and through practice and theory, participants attain all the tools with confidence so that they may share this knowledge with others.

This course will take place at Paleochori camp', located on the hills above the famous Nidri of Lefkada, Greece. Neochori is a mountain village (300 meters) of Lefkada, about five kilometers from Nidri. Serenity and impressive view, as well as the absence of shops, are distinguishing features of the village. Instead, there is plenty of green, four springs, and a number of paths which are taken care of by the village community every year.
This village was once abandoned by the locals when they gradually began to approach the coastal areas. Years later, around the late 70s and early 80s, it was rediscovered by people looking for a quiet place close to nature. Somehow it started to attract hippies, artists, people from different parts of the world, and finally, a community was created. Today, only a few of the families that first settled there remain in the village, but new ones have come, creating a mixture of people and cultures.
In recent years, the cultural association has been activated and the old school of the village has been renovated, where various activities take place such as exhibitions, presentations, film screenings, festivals, seminars, etc. Especially in the summer months, the village hosts a lot of people from different parts of the world. Lefkada is a Greek island in the Ionian sea located on the West Coast of Greece. It is famous worldwide for its stunningly beautiful beaches with transparent, turquoise waters, combined with the rich flora covering the mainland.
