"My sister and I went to Botanica Rainforest Spa & Retreat for a massage. Despite having spent a lot of time in the past exploring the likes of Byron hinterlands, Mullumbimby and surrounds, nothing could prepare you for the sheer beauty of Gemma's property. We were lucky to visit on a rainy day, making the vista even more stunning with waterfalls, the sound of running water and everything so lush and green. Overall a blissfully peaceful experience. Sauna was great. Massage relaxing. Gemma was great at accommodating our last-minute booking and making us feel welcome. We'll definitely be back."

"I've just come back from a blissful weekend staying overnight here with my 21 year old daughter. Gemma and Stefano are warm and friendly hosts who have thought of everythihg to make this place extra special. The wet edge pool overlooks the rainforest and escarpment. The only sounds are the birds and the distant waterfall. Gorgeous tropical flowers and the relaxing smell of lavender and massage oils fill your senses. You have to pinch yourself that you're not in Bali but only 2.5 hours from Brisbane! The sauna, pool and spa are inviting and relaxing in the warmth of summer when you can lounge on the big comfy day beds and look out over the rainforest and magnificent views. Gemma gave us a wonderul massage and the morning yoga session with Kate was gentle and exhilarating. Stefano's meals were absolutely delicious - particularly the evening meal of fresh mackerel steaks with butter and caper sauce, pureed sweet potato, and eggplant. BYO as this is the perfect place to sit back with a glass of wine and savour the food if you are not detoxing! A healthy breakfast was provided - fresh fruit, local muesli, yoghurt and seeded bread for toast with a variety ot teas and plunger coffee. The cottage has a kitchen and large living room with deep comfortable sofas to watch DVDs.. Upstairs is a loft area with a double bed. It was very soothing listening to the rain and the frogs during the night. This place is so peaceful and relaxing and like others, I am reluctant to share this special find. In a word - heavenly!"

"I was looking for a really nice day spa to surprise one of my girlfriends on her 25th. We organised this with Gemma and she was able to accommodate us even though we were late to book! It was a wonderful experience, and a beautiful location. We each had the hour long full body massage, got to use to pool and sauna. We organised with Gemma for a glass of champagne each and Gemma also provided some nibbles which was a lovely touch. Although it was a bit of a drive to get there and it was raining at the time the drive itself was quite beautiful. Definitely loved having the whole area for ourselves. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a bit of luxury (and very affordable!)"
