Enjoy a week in nature with great vegetarian food and amazing surroundings and dive into the tradition of Hatha yoga with Borja Sainz Yoga! This program, which focuses on the complexity of Hatha yoga methods and three main aspects of practice involving the body, breath, and mind, is expertly designed to introduce Hatha yoga material for beginners and help you and other fellow yoga teachers to deepen your practice and teaching methods. The maximum participants in the group is 16.
You will stay at Orada where you can choose to stay in a private single room or private twin room in the shared house, or in shared rooms with bunk beds in shared bungalow for your perfect accommodation.
This retreat will focus on the complexity of Hatha yoga methods through which this tradition develops the foreground to experience freedom. Every day, you will focus on the three main aspects of practice that involve the body (asana), the breath (pranayama), and the mind (meditation) in order to experience the full potential of the practice.
Afternoon sessions will cover these techniques with sessions that range from the philosophical and energetic point of view to a more contemporary approach with the anatomy labs, focusing on bio-mechanics and alignment. This Yoga Alliance Accredited 20-hour training fulfills 80% of the 3-year non-contact continuing education requirement for teachers.
This class focuses on how to affect your nervous system through the breath and the precise sequencing of poses (Vinyasa Karma). This first session will focus on forward bends to address Vata Dosha imbalances and activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
In this class, you will learn seven steps of Hatha Yoga to deepen your knowledge in Hatha Yoga as a purification system and develop an understanding about the tradition and evolution in contemporary yoga practice. You will grab an understanding of asana as a tool do develop stability in order to access the transforming practice of pranayama and establish the ground for meditation.
You will learn how to use breath in order to access a state where meditation may flourish. In yoga tradition, meditation is considered as a state that develops, not as something you can actually do or practice.
You will learn the energetic effect of asana and breath in order to access and purify your nadis (energy channels) and develop your connection to Prana. During this session, you will develop awareness of this universal energy with the use of bandhas, breath retention, and suspension as well as the correct method to practice nadi shodana, an alternate nostril breathing.
You will learn and apply adjustments for different types of asanas. Also, you will develop awareness on refined muscular actions in order to correctly align your legs and deal with issues in your hips, knees, ankles, and major group muscles in the legs that can help you stabilize and extend your lower spine.
You will have a lunar practice in which you can learn how to develop calmness and ground yourselves to make it long lasting. You need to practice inner awareness through your breath during your asana practice in order to facilitate and access a state of meditation. Also, you will learn to apply Ujjayi, 1:2 breathing technique.
You will be introduced to the nature of Prana and how it moves through your body. Kriyas to calm and stabilize Apana, Prana, Samana, Udana, and Vyana will also be taught in this class.
You will study and apply adjustments for different types of asanas including inversions. Developing awareness on refined muscular actions is also needed to correctly align your arms and deal with possible issues in the shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Also, you will learn bio-mechanics of your neck and upper spine.
You will do a solar practice and learn how to enhance your energy and keep it stable for your inner development. You will also do backbend and extension practice to open the chest in this class. In addition, you will be introduced to Kapalabhati, Jalandhara Bandha, and the correct use of breath retention.
In this class, you will have a relaxing yoga practice to understand your fascia and then dive into the restorative and metabolic healing experience of Nidra yoga.
You will get a dynamic practice centered around the use of breath and Bandha to connect your movements and inner awareness. To complete this session, you need to cultivate the energy around the abdomen and Manipura Chakra.
This retreats is situated between Odemira and Sao Teotonio, two small villages in Portugal, which are very close to the sea. The location of this retreat is hidden in a beautiful valley surrounded by nature and permaculture gardens.
During this retreat, you will be served with vegetarian organic meals three times a day, with options for people suffering from food allergies.
Since the location of this retreat is surrounded by forest and mountains and only 15 minutes walk from the amazing Alentejo and Algarve beaches, you can surf, take a walk around small villages, and taste local foods.
