Your Weekend Getaway Yoga Retreat in Wales, UK

2020. What a year. It has demanded a lot of us all, it wasn't easy and our minds and bodies will carry the experience of lockdowns with us for longer than we might think. Bobble Yoga refresh retreats are designed to give you just what you need to relax and renew, gently and harmoniously. And, their success is in the details: they fully comply with government Covid-19 guidelines. Keeping everyone safe is at the center of their focus these times, so participant numbers are strictly limited to create a nurturing environment for us all.

Tranquil, serene, peaceful.

Garth Barns consists of Hafod barn and Ty Nant. Hafod is a traditional stone and timber clad barn with a cool modern interior and spacious living areas. There is a large conservatory where the yoga asanas and practices are held. This is large enough to hold up to 24 yogis at the same time - but Bobble Yoga is limiting numbers to a maximum of 12, to make sure everyone is safe and spacious!

There is also a games room with a pool table and front and rear terraces, floor to ceiling windows allowing the light to stream into spaces.

Ty Nant is an oak framed barn over two stories, with a comfortable farmhouse atmosphere. Lots of oak all round: Beams in the kitchen, the tables, and other locally made items. The lounge doors open to the terrace next to the stream, with plenty of space for you to socialise or to hide away in the living room, as you prefer.

Garth Barn also makes use of Garth House. Garth House is a new addition to the estate, complete with 6 en-suite bedrooms, a wonderful sit-out area with a cover, as well as a modern kitchen, and your usual, calming and beautiful oak features around the house.

Room options are a double room with single occupancy, or double room sharing for two people from the same household.

All of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms either with a shower or a bath. Wi-Fi is available on the grounds (although Bobble Yoga like to encourage you to use it as little as possible).

Retreat location

This Relax And Restore retreats take place in Garth Barns, Llanidloes, Mid-Wales. Llanidloes is the first town on the River Severn (counting from the source); located within the historic county boundaries of Montgomeryshire, Wales. The town offers lovely cafés and small shops and is known for being a great little market town in Mid-Wales.

Garth Barns is located just two miles off from Llanidloes. The barns are on either side of the former farmyard - now a spacious landscaped courtyard, providing separate parking areas for Hafod and Ty Nant (the two barns), and a garden with a pond and a stream running through. These stunning barn conversions offer spacious, very clean and comfortable accommodation - whether you decide to share or make your own room.

How to get there

Driving directions

  • The postcode is SY18 6NN. If driving: Bobble Yoga would recommend coming to Llanidloes before setting out on country roads.
  • Llanidloes is on the A470.
  • Leave the bypass and head straight through Llanidloes town centre - continue until you come to the only roundabout in Llanidloes.
  • At the roundabout, turn over the bridge onto the B4569.
  • Immediately after crossing the bridge turn left onto the B4518, signposted Llyn Clywedog.
  • Proceed up this road for approximately 1 mile and then turn right, immediately after a new caravan site entrance on the opposite side.
  • The turning is signposted "Y Fan" (pronounced "Van" - meaning "place" in Welsh).
  • There is a brick house set back in the fork.
  • The road goes up a little, then twists downhill.
  • When it levels out after almost a mile, you will see the stone Garth Barns and the House (off white with 3 dormer windows) on your left about 400 yards from the road.
  • Turn between two oak trees. (Some satnavs will try to send you along a rough track - there is no need for this!).
  • The drive is tarmac. If you reach the village you have gone too far!

Arrival by train

Caersws is the nearest train station, at a distance of 6 miles. For onward travel check the bus times from Caersws to Llanidloes. Alternatively, there are taxis available to complete the journey to Garth Barns.
