The beautiful Chamonix chalet is situated high above on the valley floor, with stunning views of the magnificent Mont Blanc mountain range. The chalet has seven bedrooms, all designed and equipped to a very high standard. All bedrooms can be shared twins or doubles with a super king size bed and all have an en-suite bathroom, LCD TV, and DVD player. The rooms also have a south facing balcony where several of the rooms have a swing chair and sun lounger.

The chalet has its own spa with a steam and sauna room, treatment room for the on-site massages, huge living area with double height picture windows, and the ideal yoga deck, complete with Jacuzzi and pool. The chalet is surrounded by breath-taking scenery.

During your retreat, there will be an excellent full-time chef, chalet host, and driver providing catering, cleaning, driving, and 24-hour assistance.

During the meet and greet, Bluerise Retreats will go over the schedule and weather report for the week so the schedule can be adjusted a little bit if necessary (hiking on sunny or slightly overcast days). Bluerise Retreats will fit the massages around the schedule.

About the teacher

The wonderful and encouraging instructor for this retreat, Holly Warren, expertly deconstructs each student’s existing yoga knowledge and rebuilds them again - layer by layer - with new levels of sophistication and understanding that propel their practice forward. Holly’s teaching focuses on awareness and sensation of breath. As well as developing healthy body mechanics, alignment, postural strength and vitality through movement and mindfulness.

Holly is a creative facilitator with twelve years' teaching experience. Having had the pleasure of learning with Yoga Master Sri OP Tiwari, Director of Kaivalyadhama, Paul Dallaghan and Adyashanti she recently undertook the Mindfulness Meditation facilitation program with Buddhist teacher and psychotherapist Michael Stone. Her passion rests with keeping it simple and the investigation of the basics in her own practice.

Instructors

Holly Warren
Holly is a teacher trainer, workshop leader and international retreat facilitator with over 1600 hours of teacher training experience. A lifelong student of yoga, her ability to convey movement dialogue in an accessible and intelligent way comes from her eclectic background. Initially training with the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and at The Place, she had an eight-year professional contemporary dance career, worked as tutor on residential leadership training programs, and led breath and meditation workshops, developing a daily sitting practice with an emphasis on breath movement.
Michael Jarvis
It is easy to see that the lovely Michael Jarvis is a passionate practitioner that has encompassed the philosophy of yoga within all areas of his life. His classes offer a safe, friendly and warm environment to experience the beauty of yoga. They are built to empower people to find their own inner wisdom and reconnect to their intuitive movement and energy. Whether your intention is to increase your flexibility, relieve stress, or improve your strength, Michael’s classes will do the trick.

Exploring Chamonix

Chamonix is a paradise for extreme sports such as skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, trail running, walking, cycling, mountain biking, paragliding, wingsuit flying, and more. But, many people come here just to admire the spectacular views of the mountains and glaciers, wander around the shop-lined streets, and enjoy the warmth of a nice coffee shop or restaurant.

In this retreat, you will have enough free time to explore Chamonix and experience all the cool stuff it has to offer. The main attraction being Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe at 4,810 meters. The views of the Mont Blanc massif are spectacular from the valley floor.

Bluerise Retreats recommends viewing it from the highest cable car in Europe, the Aiguille du Midi (3,842 meters). Here, you will find ‘Step into the Void’, one of Chamonix’s most recently added attractions. It is a glass-sided box with a view of Mont Blanc to your left and a 1,000 meters drop beneath your feet.

Another popular place to visit is the impressive Mer de Glace glacier (sea of ice), which is accessed by the Montenvers funicular train. From the top, you can descend to the ice caves via cable car and a series of walkways and steps.

Spa treatments

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Geneva Airport (GVA). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Bluerise Retreats will pick you up from the airport.

Geneva Airport (GVA) is the closest airport to Chamonix. Once your flight is booked, forward the details to Bluerise Retreats and they will book your transfer for you. It only takes one hour and a quarter to arrive at your accommodation by transfer from the airport.
