Tools required

Please install Zoom to attend the live sessions. You will also need access to a computer, tablet, or any other device with an internet connection. Kindly be sure to register for the Zoom website on your computer or to the Zoom application on your phone.

Other tools required are yoga mat, a couple of cushions, a yoga block or a book, more or less on the same size and weight, and a yoga strap or a scarf.

How the retreat works

The sessions will be held on Zoom. There will be four sessions from Tuesday to Friday, every morning between 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (GMT+2). Please sign in the Zoom meeting at least five minutes before the starting time so you can have enough time to get ready and prepare yourself comfortably. If you missed a class, you can get the recording right after the class is finish and practice later whenever you have time.

Timing of sessions (GMT+2)

Blue Planet Retreats is currently based Crete, Greece (GMT+3) but the time zone for the online sessions will be in GMT+2 to cater to students in Europe. The workshops begin every Monday.

Day 1

Getting started with the lower part of your body. In this session, you will concentrate on deepening the grounding and stability sensations in your lives. You will create a natural flow through the connection to your feet, legs, pelvis, and to the first two Chakras, Muladhara, and Swadhisthana.

A journey accompanied by the elements of earth and water. The combination of leg work, hip opening, pelvic work, balance on your feet, imagination, and breathing exercises will guide you toward a new understanding of, and connection to, your desires, passions, emotions, and increase your self-confidence and grounding.

Day 2

You will be continuing your journey towards the middle part of the body. You will pay close attention to your “gut feeling”. You will learn to communicate through the sensations that come from within, what you digest in your life, materially and emotionally. You will get to better know your inner organs and digestive system, creating a stronger relationship with them.

In this session, you will be focused on creating and balancing the fire element that you all have inside. Located in between the navel and the solar plexus, the attention on Manipura chakra will guide you through the practice. Using a combination of different torso twists, strong core muscles work, flexibility of the spine, spiral and dynamic movement, and breathing exercises.

You will walk on the path towards good collaboration with your intuitions, developing self-esteem, presence, and will power. You will also be creating awareness of what you want to eat, when, and how much.

Day 3

Next, you will focus on the upper part of the torso allowing yourselves to be open and to express. Following your emotions, the rhythm of your heartbeat, and inner flow, you will open the door to a true conversation with your feelings and expressions.

Giving love and motion to the chest, shoulders, arms, and throat areas, you will work on developing creativity in your lives and making decisions by following the heart. Flowing through the elements of air and ether, you will connect to the heart chakra, Anahata, and to the throat chakra, Vishuddha.

You will move the upper body, using techniques like chest opening, breathing exercises focusing on the lungs, diaphragm, and heart, back and forward bends, strong-arm work, and neck and shoulder movement. You will walk on the path towards inner balance, acceptance, self-love, and develop compassion and charity to yourselves and to your surroundings.

Day 4

You will sum up the body and mind work you did, by gathering your focus, sight, breath, flexibility, and strength to find physical and mental balance. Moving and inverting your bodies to create a full and natural flow of blood and oxygen.

You will give attention to the area between the eyebrows, the third eye, Ajna chakra. This session will include a full bodywork for improving your balance and control. Using everything that you practiced like calming your mind, concentrating on one point, grounding, stability, core, shoulders, and arms work to help yourselves stay strong in the world.

You will complete the class with a nice “shake up” to your system through inverted poses. Moving the blood from the feet to the pelvic area, towards the heart and all the way to the brain, you will try to see the world from a different angle, upside down. Playing with your boundaries and dealing with the fear of just letting go.

Retreat information

This four-day yoga workshop will guide you through the process of getting to know yourself by experiencing yourself. Each day will be dedicated to different physical parts of your body, connected to their different energy centers (Chakras).

This journey will be followed by a daily deep Hatha yoga flow including asanas (poses), mudras (hand gestures), pranayama (breathing exercises), Beeja mantras (chakras sounds), and meditation. The sessions include a short explanation and conversation about the daily subject, meditation, asana, pranayama, relaxation, and a short time for questions and sharing.
