In this program, Bienestar Uvita Yoga Shala will offer you opportunities to make discoveries through self-inquiry and experimentation in connecting to mind, body, and spirit. This yoga teacher training requires your attention, focus, practice, inquiry, and objectivity. You will teach each other, as well as have the opportunity to teach a public class at Bienestar. So step away from the world, take time for yourself, and blossom into your own true nature.
The Osa Tropical Institute sits in the forest above the sea. Covering 11 acres of jungle, it features multiple hiking trails, a year-round stream, and easy access to multiple beaches and waterfalls. In the center of the space sits a very larger open air rancho with a commercial centerkitchen attached.
Most of the classes will be held at this space, and you will also have your meals and sometimes enjoy an evening film here. You will have the chance to see monkeys and a variety of birds (toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, etc) throughout the day.
Each building holds six bedrooms, each with an attached private bath. There is an indoor long library with a small separate kitchen. Maid service is provide twice a week.
There are an array of marked hike trails starting from the central space, and you will take excursions to local beaches and, when the tide allows it, you will head to the waterfalls. All day Saturday is off, you can hang around or take the shuttle into town or to a beach or you might even book a special excursion.
Everyday, you will have asana practice and meditation for two hours, a breakfast break, and then another two-hour class before breaking over lunch. After that, you will have a long afternoon session. The studio is fully equipped, no need to bring any yoga gear with you. You will be breaking each day before sunset. A couple of nights a week, you will have a reading assignment, or a practicum to work on. Sundays are free days to rest, play, or explore.
Uvita is a small village on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is the center of a unique area called Costa Ballena and the home of Marina Ballena National Park. Bienestar is located on a hilltop looking at the sea with the sweet smells of tropical flowers in bloom, enjoy the gentle and constant breeze, while we practice yoga and meditation, mindfulness and serenity, and at times, crazy joy and a lot of laughter.
Natural, local, seasonal, mostly organic meals, will be served. Breakfast will consist of avocado toast, eggs and kale, gallo pinto, oatmeal, and fresh fruit platters. Lunch will consist of fresh, local, organic salads, tabouli and humus platters, quinoa bowls, and veggie burritos, Dinner will consist of veggie lasagna, Japanese noodle bowls, Mediterranean stew, and fresh local fish and coconut lentils, as well as some build your own taco nights.
Locally, there are a lot of things to chose from on your day off in the area, such as wildlife hikes or a wildlife sanctuary visit, horseback riding, snorkeling and scuba tours, surfing lessons, whale and dolphin watching, zip lining, massage, myofascial release therapy, osteopathy, and acupuncture sessions. Enjoy the natural beauty of the area, the sea, the waterfalls, the jungle and relax.
