Betsy Shilling invites you to join the Goddess tribe for yoga, adventures, rejuvenation, and more. You will be living your practice in a land where life abounds everywhere, friendship and pineapple grow spontaneously, kindness flows naturally, fear evaporates, joy runs rampant, and walls are entirely optional. This magical-healing paradise would be the happiest place on earth.
In the Osa, you will live in harmony with nature and her rhythms, be lulled to sleep by the jungle’s orchestra, and awakened by the call of the Howler monkey. The off-the-grid eco retreat is submerged in pristine jungle and beaches and surrounded by farmland. The open air, eco-chic cabinas are solar powered, consciously and artfully built by hand. With amazing vibes all around, wild life goes on undisturbed while you get maid service.
In San Jose, you will bookend your adventure with a one night stay in the countryside just 10 minutes from the airport in a quirky yet inviting and eco-conscious, family-owned hotel with an impressive orchid garden and the company of two sweet dogs.
Held in the power, compassion, and brilliance of the Goddess tribe that you will become through your shared experience and intention, you will find inspiration and support to release fear that has kept you too small for too long and expand beyond your perceived limitations. In beautiful synchronicity, you will shine up your radiant self while serving as a mirror and guide for others, even as they reflect and hold you.
Yoga practices, meditation sessions, and ceremonies of the Goddess tribe will honor the rhythm of your adventure, the cosmos, and the land. A typical morning begins in sacred silence, guided meditation, and journaling, followed by a solar Bhakti Vinyasa yoga practice that will get your blood and prana flowing.
If you time it right, you could practice with a family of white-faced monkeys swinging and sunbathing in the trees shading the yoga stage, but surely you will be soothed by the sound of the ocean and delighted by the sight of tropical birds flying overhead.
You will return to the yoga stage in the evening for a lunar myofascial release yoga tune up, restorative, or yoga nidra practice to cool, soothe, and quiet body, mind, and soul. In celebration of the full moon in cancer, you will bathe in the glow and experience the magic of an ocean-side sound healing moon bath and ceremony, and Goddess tribe will open and close your Goddess tribe retreat with ceremonies to yoke you to your intentions, spirit, and each other. The extent of your participation in yoga classes is entirely up to you, but your presence is requested both for your individual growth and for the solidarity of the Goddess tribe.
Your time on the Osa is precious so you should use it to take the best care of you. Much like Betsy Shilling's yoga classes, you can rest when you need and add intensity when you crave more. You can tap into your inner-wisdom and be an active player in the manifestation of your health and happiness. The Goddess tribe will choose the excursions day-to-day as a group but you can choose to hang back and nap in a hammock or schedule a massage anytime you want.
After landing in Costa Rica on January 6, you hop in a taxi and join others for dinner. You will spend one night in San Jose then board a 12 passenger plane the next morning to fly 40 minutes Southwest. This scenic mini-flight will land on the Osa peninsula then you will take a short drive on a picturesque dirt road through farmland and beaches. You will travel in the same way to return to San Jose at the end of the retreat before flying home on January 15.
On two nights in San Jose (first and last nights of the retreat), you will have a delicious dinner followed by Nidra yoga and a lite breakfast in the morning before you catch your flights. The retreat will take place on the Osa for seven full days and nights. Each day will begin with new sights and delights, honor silence through breakfast and flow to a rhythm like meditation, solar yoga, breakfast, adventures, lunch, leisure time, lunar yoga, and dinner.

On the southwest coast of Costa Rica, the Osa’s lush, vibrant jungles, and warm, glistening beaches are home to 2.5 percent of the world’s biodiversity and more plant biodiversity than anywhere else in North America. The peaceful and progressively-down-to-earth community strives to preserve and enjoy the natural beauty of the peninsula and your presence supports their dream and mantra - Pura Vida.
You will be welcomed with open arms and greeted with smiles from proud-boasting locals. There are many monkeys in this peninsula. In vibrant rainforests and glistening beaches, you will unplug and reconnect to the essential, return to wholeness, and re-align with the power of the divine feminine within, collectively, and in mama nature.
