The Llanthony Valley and Sugar Loaf Mountain are jewels of the Black Mountains and between the two lies Forest Coalpit a magical valley with Fforest Barn at the end of the lane.

With the beautiful wild Bryn Awr hill behind you, and a lush green forest in front, you’ll enjoy total privacy while enjoying breathtaking views across the valley. Explore the Black Mountains in the afternoon, then rejuvenate with an evening yoga class and a delicious vegetarian meal.

Each room has its own distinct character with shared access to the steam shower and bathrooms. There are double, twin, and dorm rooms available to suit different budgets.

Owlery

A cozy double room with wooden beams and beautiful views.

Twin peaks

Bright and spacious room which can be made up as a twin or a double bedroom. It features floor-to-ceiling windows, great views, and a playful nod to the epic TV series.

Pigstyle

A comfortable, colorful ground floor twin room with an oak wood heated floor and en-suite bathroom.

Eco pod

A twin pine eco pod, set away from the main house, with your own outdoor space to soak up the sun.

Bunk room

A bright and comfortable shared room with two single beds, a lower double bunk, and a higher single bunk. The double bed is single occupancy.

Program

This retreat offers yoga, walking, adventures in the countryside, relaxing in a hammock with your favorite book, fires, and perhaps soaking in the hot tub under the stars.

At the retreat Liz will teach a combination of Hatha Yoga and Mindfulness meditation in the mornings combined with therapeutic practices of Restorative and Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra in the afternoons and evenings.

The retreat will draw on the feminine aspects of yoga and how these may support daily life. Liz’s teaching focuses on practicing from the inside out, allowing participants to connect with their own inner wisdom, develop increased body awareness, and deepen their listening to the body’s needs. It offers a chance to come home to oneself and reconnect.

The retreat will be taking place in a beautifully renovated barn nestled amongst the Black Mountains. The house is within easy reach of beautiful nature walks and wild swimming spots, while indoors there are lots of cozy spots to curl up with a book, nod off by a crackling wood burner, and even a hot tub to soak in.
