Train and mentor with experienced and inspiring yoga teachers in gorgeous Algarve, Portugal. Usually it takes 30 days of online training and three days of in-person training in Portimão, Portugal. The online training can be done anytime before or after the in-person part. The virtual content is self paced, Have access to the content for up to 12 months.
During the on-site training, you will have your own apartment or share it with your friend, partner, or other participant.
Students who complete their training successfully are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
There are 40 hours of on-site training at Bend it like Buddha Yoga. The remaining hours are self-paced online 160 hours. The virtual content is self paced. Own the content forever. Bend it like Buddha Yoga Algarve school recommends to complete the content within 30 days.
Live breakthroughs acceleration sessions are scheduled once a week. Zoom or Streamyard are used. There are over 100 recorded classes to learn from. You will also learn Ayurveda scalp massage. Learn massage techniques to give 60-minute sessions to share with others and learn from eight presenters, each of them sharing their strengths and expertise.

You will experience meditation mindful walks and journaling and meditations, pranayama and breathwork, and sunrise and sunset yoga, pranayama, meditations on the beach during on-site training.
L. Farrah Furtado (E-RYT 500) began her yoga journey by studying one-on-one meditation in Taiwan at Fo Guan Shan Buddhist monastery for five years with monks. Soon, she was invited to collaborate with the Venerable to design and direct silent retreats and Buddhist courses at the monastery for English-speaking students. Furtado, a Canadian-Portuguese, completed her advanced course of 500-hour Vinyasa yoga teacher training in Goa, India, and studied Pranayama, Philosophy, and Ashtanga Vinyasa in Mysore, India, with Ashtanga master BNS Iyengar consecutively for four years.
Mafalda Rodriguez started practicing yoga about 11 years ago and soon realized how yoga is transforming, how it brings people back to their center and allows them a universal and conscious view of life. Mafalda is a Shaman, gifted healer, breath work facilitator, and a highly experienced sound healer and traditional Kirtan Mantra musician.
Daniela teaches Vinyasa, Yin, pre-natal yoga, and kids yoga at Bend it like Buddha school in Praia da Rocha, Algarve Portugal. Daniela is an International certified mindfulness coach, a healer practitioner, and an experienced meditation and yoga teacher, based in Portugal. From social education and social activism to yoga and meditation, Daniela traveled the world and lived abroad sharing her life mission to empower different communities and unprivileged groups, co-founding and managing social projects in Mozambique, Italy, and Australia.
Born a Portuguese wanderer, passionate about Nature, graduated in Nursing, since a young age Berta was drawn to the mysteries of the human body, mind and soul. It was in 2008 that she embraced her yoga path. She observed and learned from many teachers and masters of not just Ashtanga, but also Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and Ayurveda, becoming a Yoga Teacher and later an Ayurvedic Therapist. Her teaching style is a blend of all the experiences, travelling and her self-practice: it has a traditional strong foundation with a therapeutic approach, working on the release of traumas through the body.
Joanna is a passionate yoga instructor with over 18 years of experience. She is well-versed in various modalities, including Vinyasa Flow, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Reiki, Ayurveda, and Mobilization Therapy, which she skillfully blends to create unique and transformative experiences for her students. Johanna’s journey began at a young age with meditation, blossoming into a love for Vinyasa Flow yoga. She holds a 200-hour certification from Laughing Lotus in New York City and has deepened her knowledge with additional trainings in Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
Macedonia Domingues has always been very connected to nature and animals. Being in touch with nature always made her feel happy and at peace. She's a Scuba Diving Instructor since 2010 and while working in Santa Maria, Azores she started yoga classes, falling in love with Vinyasa Flow and its movements in sync with the breath. She continued practicing yoga by herself and always felt that this was the path she should follow. She pours her heart into her students and shares what she has learned about life through yoga. She's grateful that she can share yoga and improve people’s lives.
Victoria, originally from São Paulo, Brazil has been a passionate yoga practitioner since 2013. Over the years, she has developed a deep love for yoga and its transformative power, believing that it has the potential to positively impact those who embrace the practice. She teaches a variety of yoga styles, including Vinyasa-inspired sequences, Yin, Prenatal yoga, Kids Yoga, and Ashtanga Vinyasa. She draws from her diverse background and experience to create well-rounded and inclusive classes suitable for practitioners of all levels. She sees yoga as a powerful tool for personal growth.
Liling, born in Austria, has embarked on a transformative journey that has taken her to Portugal, where she has fallen in love with the Algarve—now her second home. With a decade of dedicated yoga practice and a deep spiritual connection nurtured over the past four years, she discovered the true essence of self-love through yoga. Completing her Yoga Teacher Training Certification (YTTC) with *Bend It Like Buddha* was a pivotal moment, opening new pathways to share the heart-centered gift of yoga. She focuses on Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga, seamlessly integrating breath, movement, and mindfulness.
The online part of the training is held online. Bend it like Buddha Yoga is based in Portimao Algarve and they will live stream sessions based on BST (GMT+1) and GMT for session/s.
This inspirational program is held at the gorgeous Praia da Rocha beach in southern Portugal. The location will take place three minutes away from Praia da Rocha beach, Portimao-Algarve at the Bend it like Buddha Yoga school. There are several world-class beaches near within walking distance, many good restaurants, shops, and cafes with a variety of other activities nearby such as surfing and kayaking through grottoes.
The hotel is located very near the famous blue flag beach of Praia da Rocha. Both the beach and the yoga studio are a three-minute walk from the hotel. During your break, you can easily walk down the beach or go back to your hotel room. The hotel is located near a mini supermarket, so it is easy to acquire anything you need.

During the residential part of the training, you will be served three vegetarian meals for 3 days. The food concept is healthy, tasty, local Portuguese produce, vegetarian. Savor juicy local fruit, crunchy organic vegetables, crisp salads, and fragrant herbs while sipping on energizing smoothies, juice, or sweet, colorful herbal tea.
There are diverse fusion recipes in a peaceful and tranquil setting. Bend it like Buddha Yoga believes that pleasing your palate is fundamental to your experience. Their guests enjoy fresh tropical fruit, yogurt, a wide selection of vegetarian dishes (delicious even for those not used to vegetarian food), curry dhal, rice, salads, smoothie bowls, vegan burgers and quinoa wraps, herbal teas, and smoothies and juice, teas.
You will also enjoy planned meals out together by visiting some of the delicious local restaurants nearby. There are a variety of restaurants that serve excellent Brazilian, Chinese, Portuguese, Japanese, German, Russian, Indian, Turkish, Italian, or English food. All student accommodation apartments have their own private kitchens to make simple meals, snacks and have morning coffee prior to the morning yoga classes.
During your free time and rest days on Sundays of the in-person training, you are welcome to explore and try what you would like. In the Algarve, the things on to-do list are endless. This is your course and Bend it like Buddha Yoga believes you should choose what is best for you as everyone is unique.
