Beingsattvaa Vegetarian Retreat Villa invites you to a luxury yoga retreat in an exclusive setting with renowned yoga teacher, Don Peers. This retreat will allow you to focus on your personal practice and to deepen and discover your true self, away from the rigors of everyday life. Create a fresh awareness of your experience using asana, meditation, and philosophy.
During this retreat, you will be staying at BeingSattvaa, a beautiful retreat center near the town of Ubud in Bali. The place is a labor of love of a couple who, after spending many successful years in the corporate world, wanted to create an oasis of healing and peace, where people can immerse themselves in natural beauty and have the experience of complete well-being.
The essential concept behind BeingSattvaa is the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, harmony with nature, harmony with each other, and with the divine. This makes it a perfect venue for the retreat, which is all about exploring the underlying harmony of life.
Accommodation, which will be made exclusive to the retreat participants, includes a combination of rooms with double beds and twin beds. The downstairs bathrooms are open but very private. Exclusive spots for contemplation and relaxation are available throughout the retreat.
This retreat is suitable for practitioners of all level. In this retreat, you will explore powerful tools for letting go of mental and emotional baggage, and to reach deeply into the richness of your being. The practices you will explore together will be drawn from wisdom, traditions, and empowering contemporary discoveries.
Together, you will create a warm, safe, and joyful space where you can step away from your usual preoccupations and come together in a spirit of wonder and discovery. There will be opportunities for solitude, reflection, group practice, and insightful sharing. This retreat is an invitation to live in awareness, experience natural well-being, and authentically express yourself.
You will arrive after midday on Sunday, November 6, 2016, which is a relaxed day for settling in and informal sharing. Mornings will begin with a mindfulness meditation session and move into asana practice. The focus of the asana will be to create a solid foundation, thereby building a safer and stronger practice.
Adding the Ashtanga Vinyasa method of coordinating breath and movement (Vinyasa), the three locks (Bandha), and gaze (Drishti), these morning sessions will take you into the discovery of the breath, lightness, and focus.
You will then balance the asana to create inner harmony, using the natural elements of earth, water, fire, air, and space or ether within yourself. The result is a safer, stronger, lighter practice, leading to deeper awareness of oneself.
The afternoon session will look at a discovery of yoga philosophy and its relevance in the modern world, using Patanjali's yoga sutra and discussing the eight limbs, regarded by many as the seminal text on yoga. Retreat will end on Saturday, 12 November, 2016, and you will depart after breakfast.
This retreat will take place in Ubud, Bali. BeingSattvaa is in the village of Kenderan, a ten-minute drive from the bustling Ubud town-centre. It is set amidst the famed rice fields of Tegallalang, fringed by rice paddies on one side and rain forest on the other.
Ubud is a quaint and remarkable town in the middle of the island of Bali. For more than a century, it has been the island’s preeminent center for fine arts, dance, and music - it is truly the cultural and artistic capital of Bali.
This rambling country town, made up of several artisan villages, each dedicated to one particular art or craft, is located an hour’s drive north of the airport. The air is pungent, smelling of the earth, river, and forests, all of which can be found in plenty in Ubud. Ubud boasts some of Bali’s most stunning resorts and spas, and sophisticated restaurants serving the best of Asian and Western cuisine.
Elegant hotels, sprawling mansions, and quaint villas now stand on its outskirts, overlooking the most amazing views in Bali. Ubud is now a hub of literature, art, music, and dance. It draws people who add something; people who are actively involved in art, nature, wellness, anthropology, music, dance, architecture, environmentalism, and more. Its unique ecosystem and culture make it an ideal place to practice wellness, a perfect getaway, if you will.

During this retreat, you will be served daily healthy vegetarian meals. The Beingsattvaa kitchen believes in the axiom ‘your food is your medicine’ and will endeavor to serve healing foods that are beneficial to the body.
You will begin the day with a healthy breakfast with fresh fruit, cold-pressed vegetable, fruit juices, whole-grain bread, and other remarkable health-food options. Lunch will consist of salads and main courses which will be plant-based, with high quality dairy products including cheese and natural yogurt, and a healthy dinner which will avoid excessive use of sugar or processed foods.
Moderate alcohol consumption is allowed and restricted to wines. The principle behind the food will be wholesome fare for the body, mind, and spirit that enhances well-being.
Included in the total cost are two spa treatments. The spa, Maya, has two luxurious treatment rooms, each with two spa beds overlooking the rainforest, a hair-spa, and manicure and pedicure stations.
The spa treatments and remedies are based on highly respected traditional treatments - a mix of Balinese and Ayurvedic treatments for complete rejuvenation. The spa experience offers a chance to escape the stresses of city life, it transports you to a blissful state where the body and mind are refreshed and rejuvenated.
