The accommodation at this venue is arranged in a traditional bunkhouse style. There are two sizes of dormitories - four beds and 12 beds. There is a 12 bed dorm, available to women only. The four beds dormitories have two bunk beds and can be booked for three to four persons if you are traveling in a group. The accommodation is basic, and all rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. Bedding is provided, but you will need to bring your own towel.


Theme: The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

"And now the teaching on Yoga begins" Patanjali 1:1

In this retreat, you will be delving into the ancient text on yoga "The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" which contains threads of wisdom helping us to discover the secrets to success on the yogic path. You'll be learning the original Sanskrit, through the tradition of Vedic chanting and studying various modern interpretations of the text practically through yoga, pranayama, and meditation.

Elise Beechen
Originally from Devon, Elise is a qualified teacher of yoga and dance and holds the UK's highest qualification in sports and remedial massage. Elise has been practicing yoga for over ten years and since becoming a group fitness instructor in 2006, she has coordinated and taught fitness programs in health clubs and resorts across the UK and Europe. A patient and enthusiastic teacher, Elise is deeply fascinated by the many physical and psychological benefits of yoga and is keen to share her knowledge and experience.

Retreat location

The Court Hill Centre is delightfully rural and tranquil, located in the Vale of the Whitehorse in Wantage, Oxfordshire. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, it is the perfect place to unwind and escape the stresses of everyday life. The Court Hill Centre is 2 miles south of Wantage just off the A338 Wantage to Hungerford road, and a quarter mile from the Ridgeway National Trail.

Nearby train stations are at Didcot and Oxford, and there are good road links via the M4 and M40.
