Wendy Swanson

Wendy is the owner of Be Yoga. She has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and leading groups for the past 15 years. She is a licensed acupuncturist, healer, and spiritual seeker. Her classes are rejuvenating, open hearted, nurturing, and soul inspiring. Wendy is excited about immersing herself in this retreat with you.

Grace Millsap

Grace Millsap is a lover of life, brain science geek, and passionate advocate for all forms of health, for all forms of people. Yoga found Grace after years of body abuse from dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading; during a time of daily, almost chronic, pain. Today,she offers dynamic classes in Charlotte, NC, leads retreats worldwide, teaches a wide variety of workshops, and is in awe that life can be this grand! Grace’s classes include the weaving of ancient tantric technology with a focus on breath and presence. Her spunky fire is guaranteed to uplift, support, and maybe even make you giggle.

Katie Sutton

Katie plays a wide variety of instruments. She specializes in creating sound journeys to lull participants into a deep state of relaxation.

Josh Vogt

Josh plays instruments including the didgeridoo, native drum and flute, quartz and Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and many more. He specializes in creating unique sound journeys to guide participants into a deep state of rejuvenation.

I went on the Be Yoga fall retreat with a simple intention to learn something. I thought I would learn some yoga practices for my daily life, maybe learn a new pose. I did learn those things and what I did not anticipate (but what I the most grateful for!) was what I learned about myself. Wendy and Ashley planned beautiful and thoughtful experiences led by amazing people. The experiences created the space to learn, both in my head and in my heart. Everything was designed with purpose and most importantly with love. In addition to the physical practices of the weekend and the energy focused on looking inward, I have made new friends. I am so grateful for the laughter, joy, love and support that the retreat gave to me.

Many people say that your experiences are what you make of them. I believe this, but I also believe that it would have been very difficult not to enjoy this retreat. Being in such a beautiful location with a group of people focused on mindfulness and compassion, it is difficult not to be affected. I walked away not only inspired by the strong, talented and amazing leaders of this retreat but also by the participants. I grew so much in the short four days because I felt safe and supported. I love that I have new tools to continue that growth. There is no doubt that I will be back next year.
