Becoming a yoga teacher is like gaining a ticket to freedom for life! Not just freedom to have a career and job which looks after you and can grow in a multitude of different directions, but also the freedom from the conditional mind; allowing you to see.
Barefoot Yoga has a Buddhist and Taoist philosophy. Their teachers practice these philosophies in their daily lives and are able to offer mentorship on how you too can live a yogic lifestyle. It's important to note that is not just about teaching, it's about living. When you teach Yoga, you are embodying the philosophy that you choose to practice by, translating what happens on the mat, back into your daily life and vice versa.
This Level 1 certification is just the beginning, you may like to take it further and complete studies in Chinese Medicine, energy healing, and advanced teaching with Barefoot Yoga. But for now, you will focus on taking the first step towards changing your life forever...
This course is for those who wish to expand in self-development and teach yoga, as a school that prioritizes quality over quantity; Barefoot Yoga limits their numbers to 8 students. The Barefoot ethos is influenced by the Buddhist Eightfold path which can be likened to and will be studied alongside the Eight Limbs of Yoga. To do this, we must begin a deep healing process one of self-inquiry and honesty. One thing many people don't realize when they sign up to this immersion is the level of growth that will be undertaken, you will be challenged throughout the course, this is where the real practice of yoga begins - not in trying to touch your toes, but in self-mastery beyond flexibility and strength.
If you are someone looking for a course that prioritizes peak postures over tradition and a well-rounded practice, then you are recommended to go to a different school. Barefoot Yoga is not about the mainstream hybridized yoga. Their lead trainers question everything and have endeavoured to dig up the best science and spiritual meanings behind their yoga practices to help bridge the gap between Eastern and Western beliefs. Their lead trainers, Adam and Jess have completed all of their own yoga trainings in India and are passionate about translating these teachings to more students throughout western society in the most authentic, yet scientific way. They are also qualified across a broad range of fields but mainly study neuroscience, anatomy, psychophysiology, and Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.
This course revolves around creating a family - therefore they appreciate and practice, mindful eating, family time, movie nights, storytime, non-awkward silences, and deep and meaningful connections and conversations. Barefoot Yoga is a small family-owned school and they can't wait to welcome you into their home!
This aspect of the course is designed to help introduce you and your fellow students to the foundations of philosophy, history, asana practice, and Yin + Vinyasa yoga. This is a great way to get warmed up and prepared for the immersive training.
This part of the course is in person, with all 21 days accommodation, organic breakfast and dinners, tuition, course materials, extra-curriculum workshops, and activities included.
