This place was so nice and peaceful. The staff was nice and kind and treat me like a princess all the time. Diet food was very good and yoga teacher was talented and very good teacher as it is. The treatment was great and i have no bad word to say about this place. Only one thing was missing and it was more yoga but luckily there is a good yoga place in center of old town and few nights i went there to do more yoga.

This is my 3rd time in Ban Sabai. Places like this are hard to find these days - it combines beauty, old world charm and peace. The owners and staff are extremely helpful and kind and go out of their way to help you. It is outside Chiang Mai but well worth the tuk tuk ride to go back to a paradise Two years I have brought friends with me and they also loved it. The restaurant is on pillars overlooking the pool, full of antiques and the menu is varied and delicious!! I cannot wait to go again!!.

My mum and I stayed here from 9th to 13th March. We stayed in Deluxe two bed room offering a Garden View. Upon our arrical, Yaminta Juwattana (Ying) was the person in the lobby and took care our reservation. We arrived late therefore, there was no more dinner. She immediately arranged us a van to the Night Bazaar.

We didn't really go for breakfast offer however, I am sure that they offer good ranged of breakfast, lunch and dinner. I checked their menus and we had our last meal before out flight back to HK.

We also used their bike to check out the market and nearby shops. Mum and I found the sunflower garden from the distance.

Every time we came back from our outings, the receptionists were always attentive. We met Unchalee Chomchuen (An) and Pattarpoin Tracheuntong (Por), and mum always have a good chat with them. An showed mum the nice garden they have near the suite, some small mangoes.

The place is distance away from the old city however, it's accessible with booking for Tuk Tuk and van through the receptionist. But it was also good to make friends with the driver and book him for the next day. They are willing to pick you up and bring you to your destination. Normally 200 baht was our charge and if two destination, it became 400 baht.

I definitely recommend this place to stay in.

This lush & beautiful authentic Thai Village setting is tucked away in its own private world. It is Heaven on Earth! Yet less than 15 min by taxi from Tha Pae gate or the heart of the busy city when you want to feel the hustle & bustle of the city with tons of shopping & amazing food.

But when you're done with your day and are looking for pure relaxation & peace, this is the place for you.

The staff was absolutely amazing! Such warm & beautiful people. They Couldn't be more attentive. They performed every task with such grace and kindness. All you need to do is ask and they will do anything for you. I inquired about doing a guided meditation and someone came to give me a private one on one. I had never felt or experienced such love & graciousness.

The spa treatments were incredibly relaxing and seemed to last forever. A large variety of packages to choose from.

The owner L was absolutely delightful. She too had such an elegance & grace about her. I celebrated my 50th birthday and she went above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined to make me feel special. It was one of the BEST Birthdays I had ever celebrated.

My favorite part by far was the peacefulness & tranquility of the grounds. I was surrounded by lush tropical plants, trees & flowers. I was I was living in a garden in a Lanna house.

I was in search of such a place for sometime and was pleasantly surprised to have found it here at Ban Sabai Village Resort & Spa.

I have been on a healing/spiritual journey for almost a year now and I am most thankful and grateful to call Ban Sabai my home of healing.

      I will be back...before you know it❣️

We stayed for a week in Chiang Mai, and Ban Sabai is tucked in a village away from the CBD, just what we needed for a relaxed stay. We booked yoga classes, swam in the afternoon. Rooms are spacious and clean. Thai food is great and reasonably priced in the resort's restaurant! Ban Sabai staff were courteous, cordial, and knowledgeable. We would definitely come back here.

I left feeling refreshed and fantastic. Delicious food and juices! Wonderful body treatments. I recommend booking a rejuvenation package and Lanna Rooms are great!

I was staying at a 5 star hotel in Chaing Mai and it was missing something so I randomly chose to stay at Ban Sabai...yes it is NOT located within the key hot spots which is fine with me but you can get to the major tourist places in the city by Tuk Tuk or Taxi within 15 minutes for a few dollars and the hotel has a free shuttle bus...but enough about that

Why stay at the hotel how bout due to CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE FAMILY from the quiet location to awesome rooms to great food to a cute pool...not to mention good massages and if u get bored they have bikes you can ride for free

I was here mid month July and I loved it so much that I booked again for 27 July and this is when I wrote this review...oh yeah prices are great and again it is all about CUSTOMER SERVICE...I don't write many reviews but when I do then check out the place ..to me it is FIVE STAR SERVICE

If you are looking to get away from it all and have some peace and quiet this is the spot.

My room looked out to a pond and lush vegetation out the back. I woke up to birds singing most days. There were loads of animal sounds which added to the over all charm of the place.

Room was large and had dark Thai wood and as did the rest of resort.

I signed up for the 7 day yoga retreat, which included 7 days yoga and almost 3 hours of treatments (massage, herbal steam baths, body scrub, facial etc) per day. Approx 15 hours of treatment + 7 hours one on one yoga. The treatments were 5 star standard and the two ladies that worked there were divine. So sweet and high quality treatments. As good as you get back home in Australia if not better.

Yoga - I had one on one sessions I think mainly because the the hotel was quiet and during low season. The teachers were different each day but all practised the same type of yoga and were to a very high standard. They were also very patient with a beginner! :)

Pool was cleaned at least once daily (they were almost obsessed by the cleanliness of it).

The food, especially breakfast was delicious. On my first morning a beautiful mature lady who was the picture of health greeted me and explained all the food to me. (I later found out she was the owner).

They use all fresh local ingredients and a lot seems to be organic. They tailored my menu to me for the entire week. I am not a vegetarian back home but I decided I would take up the challenge of eating only veggie for the week. The food was so good I 'might' continue veggie back home.

It's about 5km out of the centre of town and they offer a free shuttle bus.

I had a tremendous stay and would definitely recommend it to solo travellers who are looking to get away from it all or couples or even a group of girls.

I felt very well looked after and the staff couldn't be more helpful. If I needed to book something they booked it for me. They even offered me their mobile phone to receive a call from overseas...

They were all so kind and even gave me preserves they make onsite the night before I left.

Keep up the good work. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone I know coming here.

We've stayed at Ban Sabai a few times now. We must say we are really impressed with the consistency of service and food quality. The rooms are very clean and good value. We will continue to come here every time we're are in Chiang Mai. The location is away for the tourist buzz, so depending what you're looking for. That's can be a good or bad thing. We usually rent a scooter for the duration of our stay, but the taxi's are easy to find and cheap.

We loved our stay here. Our treehouse luxury room was something different, exciting and beautiful. I would stay here again without doubt if we were to visit Chiang Mai again. It's a little bit away from the centre of things but it's worth the 150-200 baht tuk tuk or taxi ride into the centre to stay in a place so beautiful and peaceful. The staff were amazing, especially Tor who was exceptionally good at his job and made our stay extra extra special.

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely resort for 3 nights. We had been staying in downtown Chiang Mai but were looking to escape the crowds, noise and chaos. Ban Sabai Village was perfect! Slightly out of the main part of town it was relaxing, yet close enough to be able to take a tuk-tuk, visit museums, walk the street market and come back to relax by the beautiful pool. They run organized yoga vacations as well as detox programs. When we asked they arranged for an excellent yoga class (thank you, Kate) as well as a meditation session (thank you PraKaiKai) in a quiet pagoda overlooking a lotus pond (see picture). The rooms also overlooked the lotus pond. The breakfast, bar food and dinner were excellent. The staff was lovely and very helpful in booking trips and rides. There were bicycles available for guests to ride into town. I would recommend Ban Sabai Village as a homebase in Chiang Mai!!!

I spent 4 nights at Ban Sabai and even though I gave only 4 out of 5 stars I would recommend this place and hope to go back for another stay. The grounds and overall look of the place is truly beautiful and feels "Thai". The room was very large, comfortable and pretty. The pool area was really lovely and nice to spend part of the day there. The breakfast buffet was simple but very good. The dinners were delicious. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, even packing a breakfast box on my day of leave for an early flight. Some cons… I tried to book a spa appointment at 4:30 the first day I was there. I was told there were no services. It does say to book in advance but it also says open to ten so I would think that would be enough notice. I found a spa in town that was great so I ended up there instead. The roosters that other people commented on were loud. I thought it was charming but if that noise bothers you do not get a room anywhere near the pool area. Due to the partial screen roof in the bathroom it would be impossible to keep all debris and insects out of the room. If you want a tub to soak in, I would not advise this room. The place is out of town. I wanted that but if you are looking for places to walk to this is probably not the spot for you. Tuk Tuks are easily arranged. Overall, for the value, beauty and relaxing atmosphere, I would recommend this place and look forward to another stay there.

We stayed at Ban Sabai for two weeks, or I should say two wonderful weeks. We have such great memories of sipping cold coconuts by the pool, where we spent a lot of time relaxing. It was great to be outside the noise and business of Chiang Mai, and yet only about 15 minutes from the heart of the city. The room was clean and a good size. We really liked the outside shower and the comfortable bed. We were pleased to find a few English-speaking stations on the tv. The food was great, and the kitchen staff accommodated some special requests we had. The very best thing about Ban Sabai was the staff. Every one of them was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend getting a facial and/or massage while you're there. The best ever!

A four day stay which was a real delight. A compact boutique resort with attentive staff under Pat's excellent management. Our 'Lana' villa was expansive and very comfortable. The only downside was the noisy cockerels next door but this was a minor irritation and we soon got used to it. OK it is a little out of town but this can be an advantage in high season, just make sure the 'Tuk Tuk' or taxi know where to go.

My 2nd stay, and I know I've got the right place to relax and unwind. The staff gave me the same room as before, and I love everything this hotel offers. I had a little hut all by myself, plenty of tea and coffee, reading, and full blast of internet wireless connection. Everything was perfect, except the mosquito. Bring along some ointment to help relief mosquito bites.Perfect for a getaway because this resort is far away from the touristy downtown Chiang Mai. I stayed here for just 1 night, but I spent all the time in this resort. The gym was basic, and equipment was pretty old, but just enough for a light workout. I had a facial massage done, and I felt so good. What's great this resort offers is their healthy breakfast. Free-flow of everything you can have from the menu. And they were generous! With a perfect spread of eastern breakfast to western breakfast, congee, a good spread of jams, to healthy juices (sugar-free).They do serve all-day meals to your doorstep. It's pricey. All in all, lunch and dinner for just me costed just less than 1000 BHT. Pretty expensive I'd say.

We stayed four days and three nights at Ban Sabai. Though a little away from the city, I highly recommend Ban Sabai to unwind in a peaceful and beautiful environment. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way every time we asked for something! The rooms were clean and everything was taken care of. On a day that we didn't feel like going out, the hotel was a great place to rest. Food is a little expensive but there are lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. We had rented a scooter which was very useful as it is not well connected by public transport.

I booked a 4-day yoga retreat and even prolonged my stay, because I liked this place very much. The hotel is really set up as a village in mother nature. There are lots of insects, plants and animals living here too. They do not use insecticides to kill all the living organisms compared to other high-class resorts. The location is north of the city centre, but only a 5-10 minute motorbike ride away. The way is easy to find. The advantage is that I was not disturbed by noise or bad air quality like I would have stayed in a guesthouse or hotel in the city. The hotel staff is very friendly and delivers a high-valuable service. The 4-day package was well organized, I never felt boring, there was always something to do. The facilities are well maintained compared to other comparable places even if some things were not working so well (e.g. bicycle, computer), but the staff was eager to get things repaired, so they are working again. The bungalow or room was nice and clean. There were no mosquitos in the room, which was nice. The food in the restaurant was of high-quality and really good. I also had meals at other places, but this still out-passes them. The chef also prepares meals according to special dietary requirements and uses fresh ingredients. The spa-treatments were very good, especially the Thai massage. The daily yoga was done by professional yoga teachers, who spoke well English and made it to be fun. The owners were also friendly and cared about my stay.

I stayed at Ban Sabai from July 1 to 5. The whole journey from the airport to the hotel was well arranged. I was picked up at the airport by the hotel staff and the driver even drove me to the city to get a sim card for my phone. He was not the only one friendly, all staff at the hotel were very hospitable and were willing to entertain our requests.I joined the 4-day-3-night yoga package but the program was not packed with intense exercise. I had plenty of time to visit the city and take tours to the elephant ride, the Doi Inthanon, and have dinner at the Night Bazaar. We could switch around the activities in the program to spare time for other things to do in the city. I'm very happy with Ban Sabai, and I love this trip very much! If I come to Chiang mai again next time, I would live in Ban Sabai again.

I went with my sister to relax, detox and getaway from it all. The premise was gorgeous, lush and absolutely green. The room was lovely and had aircon and fan. All the things you need to keep you comfortable. Breakfast included was wonderful, with many options and choices to eat from. The cost of the place was incredibly reasonable; but of course there are some caveats. The cost of massages and other types of services tend to be on the higher end. Three to four times more you would normally pay at spots in Downtown Chiang Mai. But, for the pleasure of having it in the comforts of the premise, you could find it as a way to spoil yourself. It is a great place for couples, friends and girlfriends to go to relax and enjoy each others company. The staff was also super sweet and helpful with everything!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and it was absolutely wonderful - if it hadn't been for other plans we would have definitely extended our stay. We really can't praise this place enough! Upon arrival the staff were extremely accommodating; having arrived at 8 am following an early transfer we were worried we wouldn't be able to check into our room, but it was already ready for us to move into straight away. The resort was absolutely beautiful and very authentically decorated, the pool was clean and always had fresh towels, and the gardens were stunning - it was as if you were really staying within the jungle. Breakfast was delicious - there was a wide spread of food to suit all tastes, and service was always so polite, friendly and extremely fast. This was the same for all poolside snacks and dinner - as a result we chose to eat at the hotel both nights instead of finding restaurants nearby. Our room was incredible - it had floor-length windows overlooking the pool and the jungle, the bed was very comfy and had a mosquito net, and the bathroom was lit by natural light which was a lovely touch. We never had any problems with WiFi - it was strong in both the room and by the pool. The resort was only around 10 minutes taxi from the centre of Chiang Mai, so is easily accessible. We have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay, and we would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxed and peaceful stay in an authentic Thai resort.

We stayed in a Lanna Spa Villa last week at Ban Sabai and loved it. Everything about this small boutique hotel is wonderful! The villa was beautiful and spacious, the outside bathroom amazing, it was great showering under the moonlight! The gardens are lush and beautifully tended. Most of the week we were the only ones there, it felt really special. The staff were so nice and helpful, particularly the 2 young women preparing and serving breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It is very easy to get to the centre of Chiang Mai, either by taxi or tuk tuk or, if you are like us and like cycling, borrow the bikes available follow the flat easy road (stop and visit the local market on the way) and you'll be in the city in 30 minutes. Drivers and other motorised vehicles are surprisingly courteous towards cyclists, much more so than in Britain! As previous guests have said, you can book a free taxi ride at 6 pm every day to take you to the night market which is wonderful! I could go on and on about our stay in Ban Sabai! Other guests have already said it all so I won't bore you any longer but we can't wait to return and I hope we will one day. For our very first visit to Thailand, it couldn't have been any better. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend anyone to go there! GO!

We are a gay couple and travelled to Chiang Mai to have our wedding at the beautiful Ban Sabai Village Resort & Spa. Well, we want to tell the world about Ban Sabai Village Resort & Spa as it was everything we had hoped for and much more!! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel most welcome and at home. We were greeted by friendly, softly speaking staff expressing beautiful genuine smiles. Our initial impression of Ban Sabai Village Resort & Spa, Chiang Mai was one of peace, tranquillity and total seclusion from the outside world and our busy lives we had left behind. Our ceremony was absolutely fantastic and more than we could have ever imagined. Ban Sabai provided everything we needed to make our stay and the ceremony a wonderful lifetime of memories. From supplying and fitting of the traditional Thai costumes, hair and makeup, music, decorations, the mouth watering Thai food and the provision of 5 Buddhist monks for our blessings. No stone was left unturned and the staff and management worked very hard to see that our wedding was perfect in every way. Our Villa encompassing traditional Thai style furniture, outdoor bathroom, full mini bar and TV/entertainment unit was just the beginning. Our room was attended to daily with staff surprising us with our towels prepared as origami Swans and flowers and our bath was prepared with an abundance of rose petals. We indulged in our private downstairs area with sauna, steam room and padded sun lounges surrounded by tropical gardens and the beautiful songs of native birdlife. If we were looking for additional relaxation we could arrange a traditional Thai massage or an assortment of aromatherapy treatments. The food was exquisite. Breakfast included homemade jams, tropical fruit juices, bread baskets, fresh fruit platter and traditional Thai Rice Soup. The a la carte menu included smoked salmon, omelette and eggs cooked to your liking with all the trimmings. Dinner was the most beautiful Thai food we had ever tasted especially Pineapple & Cashew Rice, Green Chicken Curry and Spring Rolls. The customer service was the best we have ever experienced. The staff arranged our daily driver taking us to all our destinations including Buddhist temples, Tiger Kingdom and Elephant ride through the jungle. The night markets at Chang Mai would have to be one of the best shopping experiences and destinations in Thailand. The night markets in Chang Mai are open 7 days and retailers are great to barter with whilst enjoying local delicacies and Singa beer to rest our weary feet. The Staff at Ban Sabai even prepared for us a resort address and details card to give to our taxi driver home, ensuring we arrived back safely. We come from a hospitality background. Our experience at Ban Sabai, Village Resort & Spa Chang Mai would have to be the most pleasurable, relaxing, friendly and humbling of all. We were part of their family with our personal resort representative Tokky welcoming us morning, noon and night leaving no stone unturned and assisting us in anything we needed, with a laugh or two thrown in. The Resort Manager and his beautiful wife were always on hand to talk about our day, give advice and chat about their beautiful country. The Front Office staff lead by Assistant Hotel Manager Ms. Pattranit were very helpful and attentive... and always with a smile. This unique combination made the Ban Sabai feel like our home away for home. If you are considering a holiday, a wedding or both in Thailand, no matter who you are or what the occasion, we highly recommend Ban Sabai Resort. The Staff are wondrously friendly and accommodating and will make you feel most welcome. You will not be disappointed. Just arriving there took away any stress of travelling, staying there and having our wedding there was an absolute dream and leaving was very difficult. We are already planning to return!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in early December. My overall experience was fairly average. The resort itself was in a nice setting with plenty of lush plants and trees. I found the service levels to be varied, at the times the staff were exceptionally helpful and went well out of their way to help. On other occasions, they seemed a little distracted and disinterested, for example, they called us a tuk tuk into town and we ended up waiting an hour to be collected. I am aware, this was not actually their fault however they were fairly disengaged when we kept asking them to follow up/request alternative transport. Location wise, I did find it restricting that transport was needed to get into the city. We ended up going to the city every day, for those that are happy to relax in the hotel this would not be a problem. The room standard varies considerably. We stayed in a lanna room on the ground floor initially. The first room we were in was very dark and felt a bit old and musty. We changed to another lanna room, Jade 3 (on the first floor). This was far better and well worth the change. The restaurant has great food. We found breakfast to be delicious with a good selection. We also ate dinner there on one occasion, the food was beautifully presented and tasted great. In term of cost, it was about the same price as other restaurants we ate at along the river in city. One final comment, be ready for mosquitoes. No matter what to tried (insect repellent, the mosquito nets on the bed), we got bitten every night!

Just back from a lovely retreat in Chiangmai with wife and friends. Landed at 11pm Saturday night, the short taxi ride from airport was a breeze. Arrival was perfect, check-in was welcoming, the Junior Suite was promising and soothing, overlooking the lush gardens, pool and pond. The breakfast was a daily treat with freshly prepared by the ever-friendly and ready to please Thai hosts. What better way to start the holidays with a two-hour oil massage under the Sala roof, surrounded by the pond. It was followed by a small lunch at the poolside. Riverside street for up-market handicraft shopping or outdoor dining and Night Bazaar are only a 10 minute taxi or tuk-tuk ride, surprisingly almost every taxi driver knows Ban Sabai Spa Resort. Another half day was spent at Central Festival, probably one of the worlds best shopping center, as well only a 8 minute ride away. The last night was spent enjoying a Thai Dinner in the restaurant, followed by another 2-hour spa treatment the next morning before going to airport. Had a most wonderful relaxing 4 days in a beautiful natural and friendly atmosphere I will certainly be back at Ban Sabai and will probably try the DETOX course for 7 days or so :)

Our stay at the Ban Sabai Village Resort & Spa was a great experience. It was outside of the main city of Chiang Mai, probably about a 10-15min tuk tuk from there. The staff was so helpful at helping us plan our day trips and getting us around to see and do what we wanted. The beds were a little hard for our liking, but other than that everything was perfect. The breakfast was like an ala cart you could order what you wanted off the menu and they would go cook it up there in their kitchen. They also had fruit, cereal, and toast and jam sitting out. I would definitely recommend this hotel we were very happy with our stay.
