Vinyasa flow is a dynamic form of yoga which involves moving from one pose to another with the breath, in a constant flow. This form of yoga builds strength and stamina. Flow through postures to open your body and feel invigorated and rejuvenated.
Stretch, breathe, and take your time, as this calm yoga relaxes and centers you. Yin yoga is a complementary practice to the more dynamic forms of yoga and to busy, fast-paced lives, with the intention of stimulating and strengthening the tissues of the body not normally emphasized in more active practices.
The word Yin, comes from the Daoist Yin-Yang theory, which holds that the universe is made of complementary and oppositional forces; up - down, hot - cold, male - female; these concepts are relative existing in relation to one another, like two sides of a coin, and when one balances the yin and yang in their lives, they flow in harmony with nature.
A Yin class is designed with this balance and harmony in mind, so you can expect to be guided softly into familiar yoga postures, using props and supports to hold a sensitive presence to sensation with the body for between 3-5 minutes.
This is a slow, passive, receptive practice which will leave you feeling nourished, with a sense of equanimity and relaxation for the body and mind.

Jo is a Pilates instructor and nutrition advisor. She is a Stott Pilates MAT-plus instructor (matwork, fitness-circle, flexband, arc-barrel), nutritionist and dietician - Dietetica y nutricin ISMET -Instituto Superior de Medicinas Tradicionales, Barcelona and the Author of Truly Healthy, Truly Delicious. Jo is also an advanced practitioner and inspiring instructor of Stott Pilates. Her classes focus strongly on understanding correct form, body awareness and body synergy, giving students the understanding and skill to progress in their pilates safely and quickly.
Valentina is an inspiring teacher, and blends classical Hatha yoga adapted for all levels with Vinyasa yoga to make classes fun, challenging and inspiring. She connects with each and every student and her warm, open demeanor allow her to really see what each student needs. Having trained using ancient Indian methods learned in her various studies all over the world. Classes with Valentina improve agility, muscle tone, strength, flexibility, and breath control. Valentina believes in yoga’s physical and mental benefits, providing a holistic harmony in human’s bodies through asanas and pranayama.
Andrea is the founder of OneYoga Studio in Manchester and a regular contributor to ‘Ask The Expert’ (Manchester Evening News). She combines her many years of experience studying and working with the human body and movement with an in-depth study of nutrition and raw foods and their impact on overall wellbeing. She is also trained in ante- and post-natal care. Naturally approachable and caring, her passion is to bring the joy and release of yoga to her students.
Charlotte started her journey as a young yogini and volunteer in 2012, a six-month experience that quite literally changed her life. Having learned a new, simpler way of living, she committed to return to London, a place she had previously turned her back on, to continue a career in media which she had once tried to escape. Her time away from her ´life´ had taught her that she wasn’t defined by a place, a job, or her things and that she always had a choice. Yoga became her compass, an internal light which when strong will shine through even in the big smoke.
As a surfer, yoga lover, and Classical Pilates aficionado, Jamie founded Azulfit to share his passion with those who are ready to take their next conscious step toward vibrant health. Changing the world takes energy, clarity and inspiration, and Jamie makes sure his students have more than they need so they can be a shining example to others of what is possible. Jamie is a Peak Pilates Master Instructor, 2nd Generation Master Pilates teacher and is one of the world’s first specialist Pilates retreat teachers, having designed and taught Pilates retreats for 10 years.
Rachel loves to encourage playfulness and wonder within her yoga practice, her classes, and life. She has been teaching full time since 2006, hosting her own retreats and exploring the world. Rachel is from The Midlands in the UK. She has recently spent 18 months in India and is now enjoying the calm and peaceful lifestyle in beautiful Fuerteventura and loving teaching at Azulfit. You can expect to practice anything from Hatha to Vinyasa to Yin to Partner yoga and all with a few laughs along the way.
From a young age, Helen danced, which led to a professional dance career travelling the world. A shift in personal circumstances led her back to the UK where I fell into a corporate world where she remained for over 10 years. During that time, her mind yearned for a place to disconnect from the stresses. Finally, in Manchester, she had found a place to reconnect to her body on a much deeper level than she could ever have anticipated. Finally, she signed up to a teacher training in Fuerteventura with Andrea Everingham at Azulfit.
Jigyasa is a traditional yoga teacher and energy therapist with a modern twist. She started practicing yoga when she was a kid, using the practice as a remedy to help with her health issues. Seeing how the practice worked for her, she has believed strongly ever since in the power of yoga and meditation. Originally born, brought up, and trained in India, Jigyasa has been living on the beautiful island of Fuerteventura for a couple of years teaching yoga and practicing energy therapies.
Surya Retreat is located in the village of Villaverde, Las Palmas, Spain. The retreat is only a 10-minute drive from the beach in the beautiful and typically Canarian village of Villaverde.
With amazing volcanic scenery and incredible vistas of the ocean and Lanzarote, this is the perfect respite from the busy day-to-day. The villa is also conveniently located for those wishing to get out and explore the island.

After your morning session, you will sit down to a delicious homemade breakfast including fresh fruits, home made breads and marmalades, yogurt, muesli and granola, plus a savory dish of the day.
They also offer an abundant choice of drinks including water, tea, and coffee, and make a fresh herbal tea of the day.
After breakfast, you can also select your lunch dishes from a selection of salads, dips and grains, offered as a take away packed lunch box to enjoy by the pool or out on an excursion.

Please book your flight to arrive at Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) or Lanzarote Airport (ACE). From Fuerteventura Airport (FUE), airport transfers can be arranged upon request (at an additional cost). Azulfit Yoga and Pilates Retreat always tries to arrange shared transfers for guests arriving at similar times to keep your costs down.
Coming by public transport from Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) is not recommended as you will need to take three buses to get to the Surya Retreat (bus number 3 to Puerto del Rosario, changing to number 6 to Corralejo then number 8 to Villaverde).
Lanzarote Airport (ACE) is approximately one and a half hours away. From the airport, you take the bus (one hour) or a taxi (30 minutes) to the ferry terminal at Playa Blanca. The ferry takes 20 minutes to Corralejo ferry terminal. It is then 15 minutes from the ferry terminal to the Surya Retreat by taxi. The last ferry crossing to Corralejo from Playa Blanca, Lanzarote is at 19:00, so please make sure your flight arrives by 16:00 if traveling with luggage.
