Frauke Behrens

Frauke is a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation instructor. She has an International Kundalini Yoga teacher certification (by Yogi Bhajan), Quiro-massage therapist diploma and a Sport instructor diploma. She is certified through the Kundalini Research Institute, teaching in the style of Yogi Bhajan and is a full member of the Spanish Association of Kundalini yoga. Frauke is passionate about what she does and each class and meditation she leads helps us to connect and to cleanse. You will enjoy every minute of her class, from the gentle meditation through to the energetic asanas, to final relaxation.

Jo Dombernowsky

Jo is a Pilates instructor and nutrition advisor. She is a Stott Pilates MAT-plus instructor (matwork, fitness-circle, flexband, arc-barrel), nutritionist and dietician - Dietetica y nutricin ISMET -Instituto Superior de Medicinas Tradicionales, Barcelona and the Author of Truly Healthy, Truly Delicious. Jo is also an advanced practitioner and inspiring instructor of Stott Pilates. Her classes focus strongly on understanding correct form, body awareness and body synergy, giving students the understanding and skill to progress in their pilates safely and quickly.

Valentina Parmigiani

Valentina is an inspiring teacher, and blends classical Hatha yoga adapted for all levels with Vinyasa yoga to make classes fun, challenging and inspiring. She connects with each and every student and her warm, open demeanor allow her to really see what each student needs. Having trained using ancient Indian methods learned in her various studies all over the world. Classes with Valentina improve agility, muscle tone, strength, flexibility, and breath control. Valentina believes in yoga’s physical and mental benefits, providing a holistic harmony in human’s bodies through asanas and pranayama.

Sara Mattana

Sara began her relationship with yoga during a trip to Australia in 2006, where she fell in love not only with the practice, but also with the joys of an easygoing and relaxed lifestyle, close to nature and the ocean. Choosing to embrace this way of life, Sara decided to move to the Canary Islands, closer to her home (Italy) and keep following her dreams. Initially qualifying as an Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher, recognized by Yoga Alliance International, at Its Yoga Gran Canaria, Sara teaches a dynamic style of yoga based on breath, bandhas and drishti.

Andrea Everingham

Andrea is the founder of OneYoga Studio in Manchester and a regular contributor to ‘Ask The Expert’ (Manchester Evening News). She combines her many years of experience studying and working with the human body and movement with an in-depth study of nutrition and raw foods and their impact on overall wellbeing. She is also trained in ante- and post-natal care. Naturally approachable and caring, her passion is to bring the joy and release of yoga to her students.

Charlotte Mulvany

Charlotte started her journey with us as a young yogini and volunteer in 2012, a six-month experience which quite literally changed her life. Having learned a new, simpler way of living, she committed to return to London, a place she had previously turned her back on, to continue a career in media which she had once tried to escape. Her time away from her ´life´ had taught her that she wasn’t defined by a place, a job, or her things, and that she always had a choice. Yoga became her compass, an internal light which when strong will shine through even in the big smoke.

Elena Benedi

Elena believes that yoga is much more than a physical practice and understands the profound transformational benefits yoga can bring. She has helped design the yoga program at the Lotus Retreat and is extremely passionate about your experience. She is certified by the Yandara Yoga Institute, and she teaches Vinyasa and Yin yoga. She holds a BSc. in Environmental Science, an MSc. in Water Resources Management, and a MA. in Landscape Architecture.

Jamie Isaac

As a surfer, yoga lover, and Classical Pilates aficionado, Jamie founded Azulfit to share his passion with those who are ready to take their next conscious step toward vibrant health. Changing the world takes energy, clarity and inspiration, and Jamie makes sure his students have more than they need so they can be a shining example to others of what is possible. Jamie is a Peak Pilates Master Instructor, 2nd Generation Master Pilates teacher and is one of the world’s first specialist Pilates retreat teachers, having designed and taught Pilates retreats for 10 years.

Sarah Warman

Sarah was born in the U.K. but is a child of the world. Her passion in life has been to travel, meet new people and experience as much as possible. She has spent most of the last 19 years travelling, living and working in the Caribbean, Italy, Greece, Australia, South East Asia, Spain, East Africa, India, Nepal, Bali and many other countries. Whilst living and working overseas she has gathered varied skills including working in the travel industry in Italy, teaching English for a charity in Nepal, working on an ecological project in Bali, raising funds and distributing shoes for a children’s c

Rachel Blunt

Rachel loves to encourage playfulness and wonder within her yoga practice, her classes, and life. She has been teaching full time since 2006, hosting her own retreats and exploring the world. Rachel is from The Midlands in the UK. She has recently spent 18 months in India and is now enjoying the calm and peaceful lifestyle in beautiful Fuerteventura and loving teaching at Azulfit. You can expect to practice anything from Hatha to Vinyasa to Yin to Partner yoga and all with a few laughs along the way.

Emma Malarkey

Emma practises and studies yoga extensively in India, experiencing various styles and schools including traditional hatha, tantra, Mysore ashtanga, sivananda, iyengar, hatha vinyasa, and more modern forms such as yin yoga and bikram. Gaining inspiration from experience, Emma has developed her own personal style for teaching. She enjoys leading a dynamic hatha class, with a strong vinyasa influence, rounding off the class by holding postures to create intensity and deep stretching in the body. Emma’s experience and smiling, enthusiastic nature make her classes challenging, varied and fun.

David Sye

David is of Russian descent, son of a scientist mother and an international artiste or performer father, Frankie Vaughan. He began his practice of yoga as a direct result of suffering from ulcerative colitis and a spastic colon. He discovered Tibetan healers and worked with them, and their healing practices saw that on his return doctors were unable to find the tumors. He felt better than he could ever remember, and this completely changed the course of his life. From then on yoga became his life’s focus.

Kat Pither

Kat Pither is a yoga teacher from Yogi Bare. The aim of her classes is to walk away happy, blissful, with all feeling well in your body and your soul. She believes in the magic of cultivating a quiet self confidence and peace and is unafraid to love both a cocktail and avocado equally.

Karissa Isaac

A geneticist by training, Karissa is a strong believer in a holistic approach to wellbeing and the benefits of Pilates and yoga. She put her passion for holistic health into setting up Azulfit along with Jamie, and works to make sure that all guests get the most out of their Azulfit retreat. Karissa is a Reiki practitioner and is following her love of healing and holistic wellbeing.Karissa is currently residing in California, USA with her young children, to be closer to family.

Radhika Priya Krishan Kaur

Course director Radhika Priya Krishan Kaur has 1100 Training Hours and more as 7000 Teaching Hours. She is registered with Yoga Alliance USA as an E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500) and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). She has been constantly learning and deepening her experience in Hatha, Ashtanga and Kundalini Yoga, Pranayama, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, and Meditation.

"Lovely holiday"

The villa was very clean and full of light. I stayed in Ocean View room with were very spacious and lovely. Big bathroom. Maybe a little silly with the large jacuzzi, but some guests will probably like this.

Food was amazing, love the option to have a little food in the fridge to make something yourself for the meals not included.

The food was amazing and plenty of it. I'll miss the breakfasts. I never knew that vegetarian food could be made so different and tasty. I am a true meat eater and didn't miss meat at all. the chefs were just amazing.

Getting out into the hills with the pack lunch was great too. There are a few volcanos on the doorstep which we scaled. We also hired bikes out and got out to the beach on both sides of the island. It was just great fun. Rachel took us on an old river bed to a costal village on the bikes.

It was all just perfect. Claire made everything hassle free and nothing was too much trouble.

I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the retreat. It is a perfect combination of Yoga, Pilates, meditation, nutrition and relaxation.

The retreat is in a perfect location surrounded by beautiful volcanic moutains. The energy and ambience of the Suraya retreat make it a perfect place to relax and unwind. The accommodation and facilities are fantastic. The staff at the retreat are so friendly and helpful, they made me feel welcome from the very start and looked after all guests superbly. The food is so yummy and prepared with love and passion by the staff.

The standard of teaching is excellent and my practice has a improved as a result of the very talented teachers.

I left the retreat relaxed and full of happiness and positive energy. I have taken away so many aspects of the week and put them into my daily life, I really feel that these changes are enhancing my life. Thank you to everyone at the Suraya Retreat!!

"toller Urlaub mit tollen Leuten"

Es war ein super Urlaub. Der Yoga- und Pilateskurs war für jeden geeignet, sowohl für Anfänger als auch für Fortgeschrittene, und die Trainers waren sehr gut. Es hat sehr viel Spass gemacht.

Der Staff ist sehr freundlich und sie haben uns zahlreiche Tipps gegeben, was man auf der Insel noch machen kann.

Das Essen bei Azulfit war sehr lecker, Valeria's Pfannkuchen sind die besten.

Die Lage des Lotus -Retreats ist sehr gut, sehr nah am Strand. In der Nähe gibt es viele gute Restaurants. Nach dem ersten oder zweiten Tag bei Azulfit fühlt man sich wie in einer großen Familie. Mit den anderen Teilnehmern haben wir uns sehr schnell befreundet und wir sind jeden Abend alle zusammen Essen gegangen.

Wenn man Urlaub bei Azulfit macht, hat man alles: Sport, gutes Essen tolles Wetter, man trifft neue Leute und sammelt internationale Erfahrung :-), und man spricht sehr viel Englisch (aber auch andere Sprachen, es hängt von der Herkunft der Teilnehmer ab).

"Absolutely marvellous!"

When I booked this retreat, I thought it was quite expensive, but in reality it showed out that it was not. The quality of everything was extraordinary. Also Rachel has a big heart and an honest will to make everyone comfortable and satisfied. It is obvious in her way of communicating with everyone and also in her big efforts to organize the yoga classes and all the activities to really make us experience India and Goa. Also Lisa Willoughby that held many yoga classes was brilliant. The yoga classes were designed to fit the group and the daily status on all of us and created a feeling of that every class was just meant to be for me.

I also have to mention the resort itself that was a paradise.

Now that I know how much Rachel and Lisa do to make you happy with the yoga and India experience, I regret that I did not join the extended trip to Mumbai after the retreat in Goa.

The hotel was lovely, very friendly staff, great pool and outdoor area and a fabulous setting for a yoga retreat. Andrea was a great instructor, very knowledgable and passionate about yoga. The retreat attracted a fantastic group of people- a diverse mix of ages and very easy to get along with. There were also some fun activities that were offered in between yoga classes, this included a trip to the city centre of Oia, a hike from Fira to Oia and a sailing trip.

I feel so better after a week of yoga, health food, beach life and nice people. All the staff is very kind and try to satisfy every request. The location is perfect and in Fuerteventura there are so many thing you can do that can fit every expectation. The yoga classes were various and created an harmonious mix: vinyasa, yin yoga, yoga nidra. kundalini, gong bath... I loved in particular the classes of Elena, a very careful teacher, and the passion of Frauke. The morning excursion to a volcano was spectacular. It was all very good. Pilates circuit class was a little disorganised. It could easily have been improved though. Yoga sessions (being a yoga beginner)were OK. I would have preferred more action less meditation although I appreciate that may not have been everyones choice. The yoga did seem to go from doable to impossible (for me) without a lot in between. I also appreciate that the abilities of the attendees was very diverse and therefore difficult for the instructors.

Food was great, accommodation was great, good location.

The fellow attendees and all the Azul staff were great company.

We enjoyed very much the delicious breakfasts (especially the banana pancakes) and both dinners. Thank you for being there for us with all the helpful tips and advice.
