The whole place is considered to be sacred as it is believed that meditation at this place leads to attainment of salvation.

Why Rishikesh?

There are many temples-some ancient, some new along the river Ganges. Rishikesh is important not only as a pilgrimage centre closely associated with the Ramayana, but also as home for many important centers of Hindu religious thought and spirituality, and as a very great Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh. There are many great Yoga Ashrams and Yoga institutes here.

Rishikesh is also the gateway and the start-off point for journeys to important religious places like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Rishikesh, the most tranquil place in northern Uttar Pradesh, surrounded by hills and bisected by the wide and sluggish Ganges, is often claimed as the `Yoga Capital of the World'. Back in the 1960s, Rishikesh gained instant fame as the site where The Beatles came to stay with their guru, the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It is an excellent place to meditate and study yoga. Rishikesh is also a good starting.

"I had a wonderful time at the school. The staff is friendly and the studies are informative. The rooms are comfortable and the location is quiet. I would recommend not going in April/May as it is too hot. There are 2 options: the Ayurveda Course and the Yoga Teacher Training (200hr) combined with the Ayurveda Course. Only downside is i would of liked to study more about the Ayurvedic Nutrition during the Ayurveda Course, as we had just 3 days of making basic, simple teas, and foods. Dr. Vinod and his wife are very kind and have a lot of knowledge behind their backs. They opened up to us and introduced their children to us and were there to answer any questions we had. I would recommend this school for sure. Thank you for everything!!! Namaste!"

"I did the Ayurveda Massage & Yoga Teacher Training Course and I'm very happy with it. I learned a lot about yoga, alignments but also about pranayama, mudras and mantras. The latter three aren't really part of many yoga classes in the west, where yoga is mostly seen as a kind of fitness, but less as a spiritual way of living. At least to my experience. "

"In the Ayurveda Massage course I learned many details not only about Ayurveda and the massage techniques, but also about anatomy, physiology, the connection between yoga and Ayurveda, how Ayurveda can help the body-mind to heal and even some basic cooking recipes. A bit more time to practice the massage techniques would be nice, but I suppose that also depends on how much experience you have with massage generally when starting the course. "

"What I appreciate a lot is that Vinod and Neethu are also happy to support their alumni after the course, in case you have some doubt when first starting your own practice after you are back home again. Thank you so much for this!"

"This Ayurveda course is for everyone with or without prior knowledge. For my part I learned a lot, both practical and theoretical classes were very good, with information that certainly improve the quality of life of those who put them into practice. Thank Dr Vinod and his team for their dedication and commitment. Moreover Rishikesh is a beautiful, economical and with a nice atmosphere on the banks of Ganga, where studying in this city is a privilege."

"I have done a yoga course which we had anatomy lessons and some ayurveda lessons in this institute. They have top knowledge and an amazing doctor, Dr Vinod which comes from long line of ayurveda doctors in the family. I decide to take an ayurvedic massage course and my view of medicine change a bit. The first day i arrived in India I got a lung infection and I was worried. I went to see Dr Vinod and after a few minutes of talking, he gave me a special diet and a herbal syrup. After 5 days, I was good.. but really good....I had this infection previously back in Europe and I stayed at home taking antibiotics for 2 weeks. I felt really bad throughout that time. So after the experience with Dr Vinod, I wanted to know more about Ayurveda. This institute is amazing. I want to go back to take a longer course, probably panchakarma course or a 3 month ayurveda course. Even Europeans doctors go there to learn more about traditional medicine!!!!!!Namaste"
