La Vudle is a typical 200-year old Provencal farm outside the village of Quinson, surrounded by lavender and wheat fields, with vast views onto the nearby mountain range of Montdenier. Guests stay in one of 3 spacious bedrooms with large double bed for two, each with private bathroom equipped with Italian shower. Each room has its own charme, with many characteristic features and authenticity in the details, with beautiful views onto the countryside. About 3 kilometers outside the village of Quinson, with beautiful sunrises and magical sunsets

Visit Riez local farmers market Saturday/Wednesday morning
La Vudele is situated near the Lac Sainte Croix, outside the Provencal village of Quinson. Quinson is a very pleasant village on the banks of the river Verdon, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is close to many picturesque spots to visit, such as the Verdon gorges, the Valensole plateau and its lavender fields, and of course the three lakes: Quinson, Sainte Croix and Esparron, with Sainte Croix being the biggest of the three and also France's third largest lake.
The old village of Quinson which was once perched on a cliff and dates back to Roman times, is witness to the long past of Quinson. The present village is inside fortified walls, and two towers are still visible. La Vudle is located north of Quinson, along the route de Valensole.
La Vudle is ideally located between two major hiking routes, the GR (Grandes Randonnes), which criss-cross the whole of France. The GR4 which departs from Royan (Charente-Maritime) on the Atlantic coast, passes through the Cevennnes which Robert Louis Stevenson beautifully described, and continues past Greoux-Les-Bains and Riez north of La Vudle to and through the Gorges du Verdon to Grasse, on the Mediterranean.
The GR99 which traverses the Var and runs south of La Vudle through Quinson and Aiguines meets up with the GR4 near the Gorge du Verdon. For walkers this area offers many walking trails which are well marked. Through lavender and wheat fields, forest and vineyards, from lake to lake or village to village: this area has something fto offer or everyone, ability and ambition. This makes La Vudle an ideal stop for walkers and hikers alike.
For lovers of mountain biking - VTT in French - the newly established 260 km long trail TransVerdon leads right past La Vudle, on the way to Quinson.
Fantastic views and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. 3 lakes within a 15-minute drive: Lac de Quinson, Lac d'Esparron and of course the famous Lac Sainte Croix with the Gorges du Verdon. This is the ideal starting place for unforgettable walks. In front of the house is a large sun terrace, and behind the house you can enjoy the shade on a hot day, with a beautiful view (aka The Alpine Terrace); the Pre-Alpes and Mont Lure are within plain view, and on a clear day the white top of the Mont Ventoux is visible.
These workshops will give every participant the opportunity to learn how to prepare delicious vegan food, using fresh, organic local products, which are in season at that moment. Ayurvedic principles will be explained and incorporated as well. You will learn how to include healthy seeds and herbs to make a delicious meal at home.
&Claudia is very creative in using all kinds of ingredients and loves to share; this will be an opportunity for foodies and hobby cooks to share their knowledge with the group. The yoga practice will be beneficial to the digestive system, stimulating in the morning and relaxing in the afternoon. The entire weekend is created as a complete process, starting with the atmosphere at La Vudle and the exchange taking place during the weekend.
During your free time, you will have time to explore the area, whether you wish to explore the surroundings on foot, bicycle, water, or car. There is an easy dedicated meditation walk, various walking and hiking paths nearby. You can also enjoy the beauty of two natural lakes nearby.
The nearest airport is Marseille Marignane. Rent a car at the airport; driving time is about 1 hour 15 minutes to Quinson. Public transport is not very frequent and hence not advised; please contact us if you wish to arrive by TGV Aix.
If you depart on a Sunday from La Vudle please note that the only bus leaves at 15.30 from Greoux-Les-Bains (we will drop you off), getting to the Manosqe train station at 15.45. A train leaves at 15.55, via Aix en Provence, where a shuttle will take you to the Aix TGV station for arrival at 17.37
The next bus leaves Manosque at 18.00 and takes you straight to the TGV station for 19.00, Marseille airport at 19.15; this requires a stop-over in Manosque of 2 hours. This means that we would hold your afternoon yoga session after lunch to be ready in time for your departure
"I truly had such a lovely expereince at the retreat. It was all I wanted it to be. When I think about open space and a beautiful summer breeze, I take myself to the moments at La Vudle. I am still struggling with my leg coming across to the front but I will work on it. This evening I have a yoga lesson. I hope to continue and advance my yoga and I feel blessed that I am somebody who can look at myself and continue to better myself in this life. I feel some people never get this opportunity to learn about inner peace and total divinity that yoga can offer.I would love to come back next year. Thank you so much to Claudia and Jim for giving me the space I needed and yet enough when I needed company. I wish you every happiness and love, and may the positive energy at La Vudle continue to flow."

"Thank you to both Claudia and Jim for a great yoga weekend and lovely food!Unfortunately I didn't manage to get the bread starter dough through customs. However, you inspired me to start my own (with rye flour) and I have made a few loaves in the last week! Thanks for the recipe, it arrived on the day my starter was ready to be used in its first loaf!"

"I attended the two night yoga retreat at La Vudele in Provence in May of 2015, and stayed afterwards for one additional night. As it happened I was the only guest during this time.La Vudele is a beautiful old farmhouse set in lavender fields on a plateau a few miles above Quinson. The room in which I stayed was simple but very comfortable and clean. There were places to walk around La Vudele, and there were many lovely towns to explore within easy driving distance as well. I had a substantial breakfast outside each morning which included freshly baked bread as well as local honey.Claudia and Jim were extremely welcoming, attentive and flexible. They gave me good advice about what to see and do in the area, which was especially helpful for me as I do not speak French. I did yoga with Claudia outside on the lawn twice each day, although they also have an inside studio if the weather is bad. Claudias instruction was tailored to my individual needs and was not only enjoyable but also allowed me to explore some different aspects of yoga which I have incorporated into my regular practice. All in all, a very relaxing and restful few days. I would happily return, particularly when the lavender is in bloom!"

"We highly recommend La Vudle. The room is large, clean and tastefully decorated. The bed is large and comfortable. Breakfast is served on the patio, with excellent coffee, a large choice of teas, fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade preserves, fresh OJ, and homemade bread. When you stay as long as we did, there are two special breakfasts. Do not miss the opportunity to have the optional dinner. We chose to haver dinner the evening we arrived and again when we left. Claudia is an excellent cook. Everything is homemade and fresh. All the meals were vegan, just as we requested. Jim is very attentive in making sure we had plenty to drink. The wine is excellent. This area of Provence is know for its roses and whites.Jim and Claudia are the perfect hosts. They are friendly, easy to talk with, do not forget anything you ask, and give great advice about things to do, such as the local markets, vineyards, villages, lakes, walks, and historic sites. An example of their devotion to their guests: We left a small bag of gear in our room. Claudia found it as soon as we left, and Jim drove into town and found us parked in our car. I'll take making things happen over good luck any day. That day, we had both. Thank you, Claudia and Jim."
"We spent two nights with Jim and Claudia and had a great time. We really enjoyed all the food, wine and their company. The room was very clean and comfortable. We hope to visit again at some point in the future."
"La Vudle and Caludia and Jim was an exclusive and pleasent experience. Claudia and Jim are among the best hosts we have ever met, and they made the stay outstanding. Their vegetarian cooking is really good. We are not vegetarians ourselves, but enjoed both the delicate breakfast and dinner. The room is very high standard, very clean and pleasant to stay in. The location is perfect, both as a base for driving around in the area, and for walking. And the surroundings are quiet - just so unbelievable relaxing. We will definitely be back."
"Claudia and Jim deserve nothing less than a terrific review. They are a lovely couple, always into a chat. We spent 3 nights in August 2013.The room was so nice, that we were thinking of copying it into our new house. I consider myself a bed expert and can assure you: their bed is amongst the best beds I've encountered during my many travels. The silentness at night was one I had never experienced before. Thanks to the absolute lack of light pollution, we were treated on a magnificent view of the starry sky, one that you rarely get to see in Western Europe. The vegetarian breakfast is healthy, animal friendly and copious. The senior cat Willem (18!) is the perfect "annex" to the already perfect hosts. Quinson has a prehistorical museum that is worth visiting (5 min from the B&B.) Quinson is also about 60 minutes drive to Manosque (where you can visit the l'Occitane factory for example) 70 minutes to Gorges du Verdon's "Point Sublime" and 45 minutes to Lac Ste Croix (where you can enjoy a swim in a sweet water lake.)The perfect B&B if you want to visit the nice area of les Gorges du Verdon and have a wonderful night's rest."

"La Vudele is a very special place that is just what anyone who wants to feel Provence must go to at least once in their lives. It is in a quiet hillside location in the middle of beautiful fields. Jim and Claudia are wonderful hosts who treat you like you are old friends, without ever becoming intrusive. We had booked two nights, but could've stayed much longer. As vegans, we were well served with an amazing breakfast, and Claudia organised for us to get a vegan meal in a nearby town. Peace, beauty, class. The whole experience was a joy."
