Instructors

Mabel Araya
I live in Pucon. I fell in love with this area in the South of Chile and decided to stay! I’m a mom of two decided to start my beautiful family with my husband here in Pucon about 7 years ago. Being the kind of girl that does a little bit of everything, outdoor activities, yoga and meditation have always been my center, a place of creation and energy. It was in this place where I was inspired to find Avani Yoga Retreats.

Retreat location

This retreat will be held at AvaniYoga Retreat Center. Pucon is an adventure hub of an adventurous country. Pucon is located in the Arauncania province of the lakes district, at the northern gateway to Patagonia. Pucon is also known as South Americas whitewater epicenter and geologically Pucon lies on the western Andes slope in the heart of the lakes district surrounded by three volcanoes. Here in the lakes district the temperate deciduous rainforest and snow-capped volcanoes collectively offer South Americas most reliable river flows.

Things to do (optional)

Canyoneering

The same creeks you kayak have different sections targeted for canyoneering and canopy tours. They support these eco-friendly businesses that support keeping Chile Rivers flowing.

Discotechs

The disco scene is a show-up no earlier than 02:00 am and dance until the late hours of the morning.

Extreme rafting

For those looking for the ultimate whitewater experience, come and ride the wild, remote rapids of the Trancura River. Its class three and four rapids rush through a valley where the scenery is just as impressive as the whitewater. Your expert guide will outfit you with the latest in rafting equipment and train you in the proper paddling and safety techniques before embarking on this epic adventure. Prior rafting experience is recommended but it is not necessary. This run is perfect for the experienced rafter and for the adventurous first timer.

Fly fishing and ducky tours

Kayakers are typically fishers but mention these because they are eco-friendly tourism that help support and protect the rivers. It is the main goal to support any party that supports Chile environment.

Hiking to Villiarrica volcano

This is a though day hike that comes with gators, an ice axe, and a grand panoramic view, where you will slide down the volcano on your way down. This is the number one tourist activity in the area.

Horseback riding

Get close to nature and enjoy a morning or romantic sunset ride along the volcanic area of the mountain range, crossing through millennial forest of Coigues, Lengas, and Araucarias to finally reach the naturally beautiful Huenulafken Lagoon.

Mellow rafting

Mellow rafting trips are all about fun and relaxation on the water. You will have the opportunity to swim and enjoy the views of nearby mountain peaks and magnificent flora and fauna as you cruise down the pristine and crystalline waters of the Puesco River.

Mountain biking

Pucon lies in the middle of a lonely planet featuring a mountain bike loop. Start and finish the loop from your base.

Stand up paddle board

This emerging global sport is like walking on water. Unlike surfing, stand up paddle surf is very easy to learn, but provides a good core workout. Within one hour the instructor will make you feel comfortable on your board and you will enjoy being out on the surrounding lakes.

Visit to the hot springs

The hot springs are just twenty minutes from Pucon and is a must visit during your visit. Pucon has a late night life so it is fine to take off at 01:00 am and the hot springs will still be open. It is also a great cold rainy day activity.

Spa treatments

Thai massage

This strong massage combines Thai massage with acupressure point work to relieve ailments such as headache, back pain, knee pain, shoulder, and neck pain caused by various conditions of physical and mental stress. The massage involves the therapist using her thumbs, palms, and fingers to apply pressure on specific points. It is a painful yet therapeutic massage and not for the faint hearted.

Lymphatic drainage massage

Help eliminate toxins from your body with this gentle massage that concentrates on the lymphatic system. By relieving congestion in the tissues and draining fluid from the lymph nodes, this treatment stimulates the natural cleansing process of your body and helps to promote a renewed sense of well-being.
