  • Lounge
  • Terrace

The retreat villas as well as the mountain itself will be your silent spiritual sanctuary away from everything. All the villas have a big main patio and terrace, for all to hang out together. The outdoor areas are full of chestnut, walnut, plane trees, hydrangeas, stone fountains, old urns, a vegetable garden, and stones used in the construction of Pelion houses, hence retaining the local architectural character.

The open-air traditional lounge corners provide a serene setting to contemplate and reflect, to let go, ground, replenish, and transform your beings and your yoga practice. The decoration of the interior is constituted from ancient local furniture and objects and inspired from the Greek landscapes and history. They feature the traditional Greek Pelion architecture of stoned houses with white walls and wooden doors and shutters, combined with modern decor and amenities that create an elegant atmosphere, where traditional and modern meet.

Double room

The top bedroom of the villas is one bedroom with a double bed, sharing a bathroom with a bathtub.

Twin room

The top room of the villas is one bedroom with twin beds, sharing a bathroom with a bathtub.

Ancient Greek culture, mythology, and spirituality

Walk through the cobblestone paths of Tsagarada village and you will be instantly immersed in the ancient memories. Pelion was the summer retreat of the 12 ancient Greek gods of Greek mythology and home of the god of medicine Asclepius and his disciple, Chiron the healer. That is why Pelion is famous for its medicinal plants, its special mystical and healing energy, and the subtle beauty of the luscious forests and beaches.

From the moment you arrive, you will soak in the healing vibes of Pelion, that reverberates through the chestnut forests, the beautiful nature, the flowers, the trees, the medicinal herbs, the birds’ songs, the local hospitality, the Pelion architecture, and the natural decor of the retreat home.

Appreciating the ancient Greek history, culture, and spirituality, and learning about it in the private guided tour in the archaeological sites, museums, and libraries of Pelion or in workshops will allow you to leave the retreat more knowledgable, wise, and spiritual through your connection with the ancient Greek reverend philosophers, sages, and mystics. Shambhala retreat is much more than a holiday with a purpose. You are a community and advocate a holistic, spiritual life path full of self-growth, vibrant health, true joy, abundance, sustainability, and deep spirituality.

Meditating in front of the Aegean Sea, healing spa services, cooking classes, hikes to authentic Greek villages and forests, cultural activities, visits of museums and libraries with ancient manuscripts, chanting, yoga classes, pranayama sessions, coaching sessions, art experiences, and delicious local cuisine are among the activities that the retreat is able to offer you. As the retreat starts, Auroyoga International Academy will shift the energy to their spiritual community in Tsagarada, a few kilometers away from Mylopotamos Beach, where they carry on the conscious integration of guests.

This holistic retreat will allow you to immerse yourself in the deep healing nature of the luscious forests of Pelion and of the sacred Aegean Sea waters. On your way to honor the ancient Greek lands, you will facilitate deeper evolution through ancient Greek and Eastern practices as well as bringing in plant medicinal healing, scientific knowledge, and the latest wisdom on vibrational frequency. They believe that nature is a new luxury, that is why 10 percent of their earnings go to support various environmental needs around the Pelion mountain.

With profound shifts happening both internally and externally, are you looking for a place to be physically and mentally nourished, feel rejuvenated, and allow your vibrational frequency to elevate among the community of healers and stewards of the Earth? They believe that it requires bravery to step out of the traditional constructs of a globalized, homogeneous monoculture and to join intercultural heterogeneous communities, and alternative paths, aligning yourself with the wisdom and power of nature and the spatial, cosmic, fiery energies of the future.

It is a requirement to deactivate your old earthly patterns and activate your new spatial wings as children of the Cosmos, reminding yourselves of your responsibility to live in love and synergy. Through their experience, they have identified three key aspects that can directly, effectively, and positively impact their global culture.

1. Consciousness transformation

Integrated ancestral wisdom mirrors life itself. Your teachers provide a supportive environment where people can voluntarily immerse themselves safely in a guided, evolutionary process of self-growth and self-realization. The tools and rites of passage cultivated within this sacred container allow individuals to resolve cultural conditioning and unveil their unique qualities, talents, and skills as well as cultivate these gifts within a social community setting.

2. Natural healing or disease prevention

Through herbal medicinal practices, natural healing modalities, and energy work from around the world, you address sickness and disease on a variety of levels, from psycho-spiritual to physical. By experience, this approach to healing illnesses targets the root of the dysfunctional conditions and eliminates them at their source rather than merely address symptoms. Today, more than at any other time in history, the world needs viable models for this kind of holistic healing.

3.Stewardship and eco-regenerative living

The retreat is fully committed to the preservation of natural resources and the restoration of degraded landscapes, as well as to promote permaculture and natural farming techniques that create vibrant and local food economies. They are planning the creation of food gardens in Greece that will serve as an educational model for others to replicate, providing an example of how to live in a harmonious relationship with Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) and help sustain their yoga community.

What makes this retreat special

Auroyoga is a holistic approach based on ancient Greek as well as Eastern yoga's spiritual teachings and practices. Maria’s yoga classes weave strength and balance, breath work, concentration, and meditation, with a practice that awakens the body, while teaching the mind to relax and let go, with patience, discipline, and love which comes directly from the heart. Maria got her training from reverend yoga teachers across the globe. She considers yoga as art. The art of ethical living, in alignment with one’s self-consciousness with cosmic consciousness.

Her intention, energy, and teaching techniques are unfolding gradually all layers of one’s being, unblocking the blockages, healing past traumatic experiences, balancing and harmonizing the whole being. She believes that everyone is their own healer, something reflected in her practice, where she intends to be the mediator to help her guests find, nurture and activate their inner natural healing capacity. Connecting them with the cosmic light energies. All activities are optional but it is encouraged you to dive into the spiritual program.
