During this retreat, you will stay either in a private or a shared room. The house offers several types of accommodation, the most recommended is in a beautifully restored traditional mountain cabin situated above a small mountain meadow and chestnut forests 200 meters away from the shala.
The cabin has great views over El Hibeu, a mountain on the costal side of the Picos de Europa mountains. It has a kitchen, a large bathroom, and a stone built fireplace with supplied firewood. It accommodates up to three people, the cabin is usually offered on a shared basis, although if available, it can also be reserved for private usage.
You can also choose a more economic camping option in a four meter bell tent on a spectacular mountain ridge with views of the Picos de Europa and the Gueña valley. The tents come with comfortable mattresses.
If you are looking after a little luxury style, Asturias Yoga can arrange an accommodation at the Casona de Con, a luxurious rural hotel seven kilometers away from the shala. The main house is self sufficient with a wood fired stove, a solar, and water from a nearby stream. There is a vegetable garden, a young orchard, five hives of bees, and four hens.

Taatva Rishikesh Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Ashtanga Yoga)
Born in 1971, Simon’s fascination with yoga began in 2000 upon completing a solo journey on a bicycle from his native Ireland to India. After exploring various styles and traditions, he found Ashtanga to be what he was most inspired to practice and teach, initially due to its obvious benefits for surfing, biking, and rock climbing, and subsequently due to understanding it as a path to meditation. He has published a novel based on yoga philosophy, In Darkness the Seed of Light.

This retreat will take place at the Asturias Yoga Retreat Center in Asturias, Spain. Known as a natural paradise (in Spanish as “paraíso natural”), Asturias comprises spectacular geographical features, the Spanish traditional culture, and Europe’s most diverse eco-system.
It is a land of high mountain peaks in juxtaposition with sandy ocean beaches and sea-cliffs and is famous for verdant mountain forests, green valleys, and renowned cave-aged cheeses.
Here, the yoga practice aims to deepen sensitivity and to unleash blocked energy so that you may live yoga. The virgin nature, the tranquility of the forest, and the presence of powerful elements support the deepening of this sensation.
The exact location of the retreat will be halfway between Cangas de Onis and Arenas der Cabrales towns, on the lower slopes of the Picos de Europa mountains, not so far from the ocean, in a quiet chestnut, hazel, and oak forest.
During the retreat, you will be served two daily organic vegetarian meals plus snacks. The food is from Asturias Yoga’s or neighbors' gardens, provided from the surrounding meadows and forests.
During this retreat, an afternoon of rock climbing practice or a visit to the beach is possible if you desire.
You can enjoy Thai and Sweedish massage and certain Ayurvedic treatments for an additional cost.
Please book your flight to arrive at Asturias Airport (OVD). You can also arrive at Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport (SDR). If driving or car rental is not possible, buses and trains are available to take you from either airport to the AsturiasYoga center.
