You will stay at Astawa Retreat in Ubud. The location of this wonderful hotel is unique because it is located at the main center of Ubud right beside Monkey Forest. The place is only seven minutes by walking from Ubud Palace and traditional market. Your mind will be calm and clear and you are ready for a relax in the hotel surrounded by a beautiful garden while taking advantage of excellent Wi-Fi.

Every morning, you will enjoy a healthy breakfast. The place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families with kids. The houses are clean and cozy made of ecological materials with air conditioning and surrounded by a blooming tropical garden. There is a spacious, fully equipped, and bright yoga chalet.


This three days adventure towards the fulfilment of your desires will begin with yoga and meditation, where all the anxiety and tension will leave you, giving you the freedom to dream and create new life. You will go to a meeting to adventures, the rough stream of the virgin river runs through the impassable jungle, you will see the fantastic views hidden in the depth of the island, before you mysterious canyons, picturesque falls will open. There are legends that make a wish under each waterfall, it will come true for sure.

About Yoga Classes:

The style of morning yoga practice at our retreat can be considered as classic hatha yoga which includes SUKSHMA VYAYAMA (warm-up), SURYA NAMASKAR (dynamic warming exercise) and static postures (ASANA) with dynamic transitions between them (VINYASA). Evening practice is a YIN yoga (long fixation of stretching postures aimed at relaxation).

Morning meditation practice - breathing awareness meditation (ANAPANA) is given in classic approach: all necessary instructions will be given right before the practice and then practitioners will seat in silence, meditating according to instructions.

Evening meditation after YIN yoga class - candle meditation (TRATAKA). With the same classic approach, our instructor will announce the main aspects of this practice, and then you continue at silence.

There are many different types of meditation and it may happen so, that the one that you’ve tried before is different from what ASTAWA Retreat are using. An approach that they prefer doesn’t imply any music or voice guidance DURING meditation, as long as silence can be considered as the best substrate for developing focus, and any sound from the outside is basically distraction which takes part of your attention and concentration.

Day 1

  • 13:00 Arrival and settle in
  • 15:00 Meet in yoga shala for introduction, covering styles of yoga, meditation, and nutrition
  • 15:30 Yin yoga session, 60 minutes
  • 16:30 Free time to take a walk to explore Ubud centre and have dinner

Day 2

  • 07:00 Hatha yoga session + breathing awareness meditation, 90 minutes
  • 08:30 Breakfast
  • 09:30 River rafting. The activity ends around noon, followed with a meal.
  • 14.00 Free time to explore the city and its surroundings. Dinner
  • 19.00 Foot massage, 30 minutes. Massager will come right into your room, no need to go elsewhere.
  • 20:30 Yin yoga session + candle meditation, 60 minutes

Day 3

  • 07:00 Hatha yoga session + breathing awareness meditation, 90 minutes
  • 08:30 Breakfast
  • 12:00 Check out
