The Ashtavakra Gita is a unique text among the world's contemplative classics dealing systematically with the mystical experience of the self on its way to transcendence, peace, and bliss.
Ashtavakra's teaching in respect of the cosmic self is presented in the form of his dialogue with Janaka, the magnificent King of Videha. The self, according to Ashtavakra, is the ultimate reality, ineffable, eternal, and universal. There is hardly any ancient Indian text like the Ashtavakra Gita which depicts so eloquently and profoundly, the grandeur, the beauty, the bliss, and the incomprehensibility of the self.
The Ashtavakra Gita has a most important significance for the contemporary metaphysical and spiritual crisis in both East and West.
Excursions will be planned tentatively upon the interest of the participants.
The retreat will be held in Ashtavakra Gita, located in Hyderabad city, Telangana, South India. Hyderabad stands on the banks of Musi River, which divides the historic of old city with the new city.
