Enjoy the marvelous offerings of Crete with this revitalizing and nourishing retreat that offers a variety of activities meant to boost the mind, body, and the heart. Step into a adventure, pack your your things, and leave the unnecessary behind. You will be practicing and deepening your yoga skills, while also hiking the White Mountains. Open your heart and mind to new experiences.
You will be staying at Tauris Refuge, located in the Chania County, on the plateau of Niato, at an altitude of 1,200 meters. The area of the refuge is beautiful, with a view of the high tops of the White Mountains. To get to the resort, you will hike for one hour and 30 minutes on a path and rural road, starting from the village Askyfou (on the way to Sfakia).
The rationale of this seminar is the deepening of the personal practice in a space where the high altitude covers this criteria and creates a special scenery for substantial development of your practice.
In the morning, you are going to have personal self practice (Mysore), to be followed by an introduction to Pranayama. Mysore practice is already famous to those who practice the method of Asthanga Vinyasa yoga. For those who need tutoring, it will be available.
The Pranayama lessons will provide the necessary foundation for daily practice. If anyone has already been practicing it, they will emphasize the in depth focus. In the afternoon, the lesson will specialize in the back bends and hip openers.
It will offer another aspect and will support the morning practice. There will be no use of any special order or flow as it is the usual practice; instead, they will emphasize the flexibility more. Any simple or difficult Asana is practiced in a repetitive way in order to be suitable and helpful to everyone.
Although there will be a group tutoring in the beginning of these afternoon sessions, afterwards, everyone will work individually, focusing on their own needs. The advanced and detailed approach of the steps with which they touch each Asana and the slow breathing bring you with each repetition to a deep state of meditation where body and spirit become one.
Many people have seen the advantages of this method, so they continue with enthusiasm and interest to change and transform your existence into something more beautiful. The seminar will close with a group practice (led class) on Saturday morning at 08:30.
The group practice on Saturday will give you the chance to feel the special energy of a group that has been together for a whole week, letting feelings flow in a beautiful and cozy way among you. In the evenings, after dinner, you will spend time together and share your experiences and questions about yoga, its philosophy, and practice.
This retreat includes daily hiking excursions from the resort to the plateau of Niato on a path and rural road.

The day will start with a hot herbal tea for invigoration and warmth before the first meditation. After the morning practice, you will enjoy breakfast, which will consist of a variety of balanced and energizing choices, such as whole wheat bread, tahini, honey, carob syrup, cooked porridge, and fruit.
At noon, before the second part of the seminar, you can enjoy some fresh fruit or a healthy snack. When the second practice finishes, during the afternoon meal, you can choose one of the vegetarian meals of the refuge. If you wish coffee or some other herb tea or snack during the day, you can order it from the kitchen of the refuge.
