Whether you are aspiring to impact lives for the better as a mentor, yoga teacher, teacher assistant, apprentice or to personally enrich your growth and understanding this program is an immersion of 30 days of studies for serious, dedicated students, practitioners with already a regular Vinyasa yoga practice, preferred in the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga system of minimum 1-3 years.

The program is taught by a lead teacher, program director, Senior teacher, 20 + years dedicated to the Ashtanga system, authorized and certified for beginning through advanced practices of the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and therapy methodology. A licensed oncology nurse with decades of experience in the health and wellness spectrum where the program integrates health and wellness and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and lifestyle.

This program is life-changing through self-transformation, healing, or happy healthy yoga life. Be prepared to transform and witness your strength and growth. The training is engaged in a physical practice beginning at Sunrise and at certain days twice a day. Each physical practice is energetically dynamic, challenging both physically and mentally as you learn the process and methodology.

Be prepared to sweat, cleanse, detox, and purify, and cultivate a deeper sense of understanding the foundations, disciplines, structure of authentic traditional yoga practice and teaching with the emphasis on the classical 8 limbs of Yoga Sutras - Patanjali and traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga system.

Please note, upon completing and meeting all the passing skilled qualifications and practice requirements to the program, a certificate of completion to be a Registered Yoga Teacher Yoga Alliance 200 RYT will be offered. This Is not an authorization to be an Ashtanga yoga authorized certified teacher.

About the course

This immersive 200-hour course is based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series “Yoga Therapy” Yoga Chikitsa which brings the solid foundation, fundamentals, base for any yoga practice, style, or form for these contemporary forms evolved out of the Ashtanga teachings, system, and method.

The course grounds its teachings emphasized on the traditional classical 8 limbs of yoga sutras, Patanjali, Hatha, Vinyasa, Traditional, Authentic Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga System. Integrating the Therapeutic Yoga Wellness approach to developing a holistic whole health practice that supports the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual wellbeing, resilience, strength, and mindfulness lifestyle.

This authentic ancient classical yoga practice is open to all with commitment and for dedicated students / practitioners. Prerequisite applies to be considered for the program is with already an experienced practice of preferred form preferred Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga primary series of a minimum of 1 to 3 years to apply but open to those with established Vinyasa style practice of a minimum of 3 years.

The study is rich, rigorous, well-rounded, and requires deep study both at our meetings and during your self-study time. It is an immersion for your personal growth, development, and transformation.

Important notes

About the training? The program is physically invigorating, as you will have two physical practices during some training days. Morning practice daily Sunday through Friday (off Saturday). The practice is as early as 6:30 a.m. and on some days a second practice at 11 a.m. Hawaii time zone. It is an immersion that is well-rounded, comprehensive, traditional, authentic, and comprehensive.

Regular dedicated practice of vinyasa yoga preferred Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga needs to apply of about 1 - 3 years consistent practice is recommended as the foundations of this training is the system of the father of yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Ashtanga yoga, the 8th limbs classical system Yoga Sutras, Patanjali.

The teacher training can be done online for 30 days or live in-person on Maui for 18 days upon acceptance.

Virtual - online sessions are currently being offered on Zoom. You will meet Sunday / Monday / Wednesday / Friday for practice, discussions, teachings, meetings on the mat every day Sunday through Friday. Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday is your personal study time and preparation for assignments, readings, catch-ups, and presentation lesson planning.

The quality and excellence of the training program and its instructions remain rich, well-rounded, comprehensive, rigorous, immersive as the curriculum both Online and In-Person are the same.

9. Share medical conditions to should know about including PTSD, depression, mental, physical, emotional health.

10. Once accepted to the program after receipt of the questionnaire above, an email confirmation of acceptance to proceed will be sent to you and you may then proceed to secure your space with a deposit. All deposits are nonrefundable, but transferrable for another date should there be an emergency to change.

The syllabus, schedule, and links for Zoom classes prior to your arrival on Maui and your teacher training materials will be emailed to you for download preparing you for the immersion -program.

  • Sunday thru Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Saturday off and moon days.

Maximum 8 students accepted for online - distance learning. The course upholds the commitment, dedication, rich- quality of personalized individual attention for each participant to embrace the immersive curriculum and course of this training.

  • Comprehensive daily Sunday through Friday physical asana -posture practice morning and mid-morning on some days.
  • Hands-on clinic art of touch training to learn safe touch, assists, adjustments and modifications, verbal assists training for online classes.
  • The art of developing Yoga practice and teaching - sequencing for proper healing, alignment, and centering of the mind and body, designing your lessons for teaching and guiding a class for a group, private, in-person, and online teaching.
  • Studies and discussions of yoga philosophy, humanities, history lineage, traditions, culture, ethics, principles, yoga sutras, classical 8 limbs application to lifestyle on and off the mat.
  • Studies of the base for any yoga teaching style, authentic traditional method as taught, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga disciplines, techniques, methodology training, practice, asanas, pranayama, breath practices, the subtle body, meditation, chanting mantras, diet, mindfulness living
  • Overview of the professional role of a qualified, skilled teacher, etiquette, methodology, practicum, professional development.
  • Studies of functional anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, understanding the benefits, contraindications, importance of modifications to meet all conditions of the body and mind such as health conditions, injury, or recovery
  • Training materials - Practice manual
  • Certificate of Completion once all requirements are met you may register with Yoga Alliance RYT 200 hr as Registered Yoga Teacher 200 RYT (please note that this is not an authorization to be an Ashtanga Yoga Authorized Certified Teacher. You will be able to register as a certified yoga teacher to teach at studios or your own independent studio)
  • One-year coaching and mentorship post-graduation RYT 200 hr via telephone, FaceTime, zoom, text, email.
  • Continued practice on Zoom at discounted graduate unlimited rate post-graduation to develop your continued education, growth, and experience and keep you inspired.
  • Opportunity to have the first reservation to return for continued education to the next program course, Intermediate training to keep your practice progressing, advancing, and developing your knowledge for more joy living yoga. Ongoing studies as an apprentice may be available if you meet the qualification, prerequisites, and commitment.

This teacher training is held online. Ashtanga Shala Santosha Yoga & Wellness is located in Haiku, Hawaii, and in this training session, the Lead Instructor is Christina Martini, certified, authorized Ashtanga Yoga Therapy Teacher, Level 2, Cancer Nurse, E-RYT, YACEP and RYS Yoga Alliance. The live session will be conducted following Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (GMT-10), and she will live-stream yoga classes via Zoom and Facebook which you can participate from the comfort of your home.

Only small group is accepted, serious students aspiring to share and teach the benefits of yoga, breath, meditation, and wellness. Maximum of 8 accepted to the program to give each undivided attention and rich experience. Prerequisites apply, please inquire for more information.
