Nectar Retreat Centre
We have not only chosen a magical island for the retreat but also a magical retreat space. You will be spending 3 nights at Nectar Retreat Center. Surrounded by lush forests and minutes away from the ocean. Your stay will be comfortable and enjoyable in these cozy cabins. The yoga shala is a beautiful geometric dome, perfect for yoga, meditation, kirtan and ceremonies. The energy in this space alone will reconnect you to your bliss!
During this retreat, everyday will begin with a yoga practice, some breathing exercises, and a guided meditation. In your busy life it's easy to get overwhelmed with the infinite amounts of information you're flooded with, with the endless "to do" lists, and the constant running around either for work, to live up to social expectations, or tending to family needs. Not only do your body needs to be taken care of, but also more than ever you need to learn how to rest your mind.
You will be learning various meditation techniques to help quiet the chatter in the mind and finally find that sense of peace, presence, and focus that culture has compromised. The daily practice is not only something you'll be doing for the duration of the three days, but a practice that has been designed so that you can incorporate it into your lifestyle when you get back home.
This form of meditation will be introduced. Inner dance is a shamanic form of meditation intended to allow participants to trust, surrender, and flow or just let go. Depending on the participant’s ability to let go, they enter a deep meditative trance enabling a profound sense of expanded awareness.
Art is a powerful way to connect with our inner child. There is a whole universe inside of everyone waiting to be expressed. Discover your devotional side with and evening of Kirtan with Soorya Ray and Jack Resels. When you are connected to your creative self-expression, you begin to understand what the creative within you really wants to share during your time in this world.
In the modern world, you are restricted from nature and confined in man-made environments. By stepping into nature, you amplify your senses and experience freedom and joy, becoming present and engaged in the moment. You will be exploring the surrounding lush forests, holding sacred ceremonies under the stars (weather permitted) and watching the sun rise. Spending time in nature is one of the most powerful ways to reconnect with your nature and find clarity.

Ben is the creative force and he specialized within improvisation based techniques for entrepreneurial training, while doing his thesis within the field of interpersonal communication. Over the last several years, Ben has conducted team development workshops for companies such as Falcon Social, a world leading social media management company, and Nosco, an Innovation management firm with offices in Copenhagen and New York.
This retreat will take place in Bowen Island is just a 20-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. The quiet, forested island of 52 square km lives up to its slogan of “Within Reach. Beyond Comparison.” This beautiful island is a sanctuary from the city, a place to unplug and relax in nature.

Catch any of the following busses: 250, 257, 259. All end at Horseshoe Bay. Align your bus trip time to the Bowen Island Ferry schedule.
Ferries from Horseshoe Bay run frequently through the day with a one-hour interval between each departure. Please ensure you plan ahead to ensure you get on time. Transfer from and to the ferry Bowen Island ferry terminal is included. Art of Living Retreats will pick you up from the airport.
