Aro Ha translates to, in the presence of divine breath. Breath is the foundation of life and wellbeing. When we have short erratic breath, we create a short erratic life. At Aro Ha, breath also allows us to outline the fundamental elements of their programs.

The entire experience is included in the stated prices, no extra hidden charges. Participants are supported by our team of professional staff who assure safety and enjoyment. The guests frequently report improved mood, sharper thinking, better sleep, lower blood pressure, and improved direction in life, prolonged weight-loss, and even the lifting of depression.

Harvard researchers have found that people spend 46.9% of waking hours with a wandering mind, and this makes them unhappy. Mindfulness is a proven technique for dealing with stress, anxiety, and frustration. Practicing stillness connects us with a deep reservoir of intuitive wisdom.

At Aro Ha, mindfulness is sprinkled into your daily practices. Mindful sitting, walking, and eating will improve focus, build emotional intelligence, and help to uncover your innate joy.

Those living in isolation of friends and family have 4 to 6 times the chance of dying prematurely. At Aro Ha, they spend time connecting with your bodies, your environment, and yourselves. They share your adventure within a small group and create genuine friendships.

A healthy gut is required for a healthy body and mind. From hydration, to probiotics, to alkalinity, we build health from the digestive system outward. At Aro Ha, you will eat a rainbow of vegetarian cuisine. Paleo friendly, gluten free, dairy free, and enzymatically active, they feed the body a diet rich in trace minerals, vitamins, and phytonutrients. You will be absolutely astonished by how delicious cleansing can be.

Movement increases endorphins and reduces cognitive decline. It reduces the stress hormones; cortisol and adrenaline. Exercise will make you feel good, and is even a proven remedy for depression and anxiety.

At Aro Ha, they blend movement with nature, spirit, and playfulness. Youll practice yoga, Pilates, interval training, and climbing mountains. They believe movement is a cornerstone of health. You move so that everything else becomes easy.

700 new chemicals are introduced into the environment each year. Approximately 80,000 chemicals are in use worldwide. The average western newborn baby has 287 known chemicals in their umbilical cord blood. While there is a greater issue that the society needs to remedy, at Aro Ha, they minimize your personal chemistry experiment by supporting the elimination of toxins, and minimizing incoming toxic load.

The choices you make each day affect your brains, your bodies, and your minds. Whether looking at epigenetic, neuroplasticity, nutrition, or mindfulness the message is clear, you can promote healing physically and emotionally, or you can create illness.

Using the BREATH framework, your all-inclusive programs harness the collective wisdom of the Aro Ha wellness team to help you quickly unveil your own innate health. You will have no decisions to make, no business or family to attend to, just a step-by-step process that leaves you glowing.

Aro Ha was born of the intention to create a facility that exemplifies a more resilient localized living solution. From permaculture, to passive haus techniques, theyve attempted to integrate best practices for solving the essentials of life. Their 8.4-hectare site (about 21 acres) sits on a sub-alpine terrace with expansive views of Lake Wakatipu. Here, theyve merged ancient traditions with modern technology.

Located on the South Island of New Zealand, Aro H is just 40 minutes drive from Queenstown. Arriving at Queenstowns International Airport (ZQN) is breathtakingly easy. A place where consecutive days are rarely alike, Queenstown is known as the adventure capital of the world.

Arrival by airplane

To guide you when flying, please refer to the information provided below:

Flying from Australia

When flying from here youre sorted. Its cheap and there are direct three hour flights from most major cities on the east coast. Use airport code ZQN to search flights on Qantas, Virgin, Air New Zealand, and Emirates. Please get in touch with Aro Ha Wellness Retreat if you need assistance.

Flying from Europe

If youre coming from Europe, yes, you have a long way to go, and youre probably no stranger to traveling. There are a couple direct options, but they all involve stopping for refuel. Check Air New Zealand (Star Alliance), British Airways, Qantas, and Emirates. Depending on how you slice it, expect two flights of around 11 hours each. The great thing is, those flights are generally in the evening. Which means if you do it right, you can travel in the most comfortable way possible - fast asleep!

Flying from North America

If you live on the West Coast of the US, or Canada, for instance, its much easier to get to New Zealand than it is to Europe, for several reasons:

The flights leave in the evening, so you can sleep on the way.

There is only a three hour difference between Pacific Time and NZ Time (minimal jet lag).

You can fly with Air New Zealand or Virgin Australia, both excellent airlines.

Your top two connecting cities will be Auckland and Sydney, both requiring about the same air travel time to Queenstown. Air New Zealand operates several direct flights to Auckland from Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Hawaii all leaving in the evening, taking about 12 hours and arriving in New Zealand in the morning. There are even more direct flights to Sydney, which also provides direct flights to Queenstown. If looking for connections from Auckland or Sydney, try JetStar (must visit their site directly).

"I was a retreat doubter but absolutely loved it! The yoga was hard and challenging for a stiff old boy like me but with great teachers was very rewarding. The hikes were lovely - beautiful countryside! The massages else again - fab! The food could not have been better - beautifully presented and always delicious. I cant remember ever photographing a meal before! Great, great staff - everyone - and that really made it. Great team leading (is that the right word?) Damian! Much thanks to all - I think I am starting on for a better health and life. Cheers!"
