The open-air yoga pavilion is at the heart of the retreat, gracefully suspended above the beach. With ample room for up to thirty practitioners, everyone receives the space needed to comfortably practice a wide range of postures. The Pacific Ocean provides a dramatic backdrop for your daily yoga practice, meditation, and study.
There are yoga props including blocks, straps, and cushions available for you. To screen out the sometimes-intense heat of the tropical setting, there is a tremendous hand woven canopy for the protection of even the fairest complexion. The shala remains cool even in the sunny mid-afternoon.
This training is accredited by Yoga Alliance. Upon completion, you'll receive a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification in the style of Yin and Yang yoga. This certification allows you to teach anywhere in the world. You can choose to take the Yin and Yang parts separately or together.
This course is ideal for you if you express deep interest in deepening your personal practice and are interested in becoming a yoga teacher. Minimum six months to one year of consistent yoga practice in the style of Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Power, and Rocket is recommended. You're also advised to have done Yin yoga before joining. Note that Vinyasa yoga is a physical activity that requires healthy physical and emotional conditions. Any physical conditions including injuries, medical concerns, mental health, and pregnancy should consult a doctor and get approval prior to registration.
The Vinyasa yoga style is based in Dharma, Ashtanga, and Rocket yoga.
A typical day starts at 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. There will be three meal breaks as well as one day off each week.
Annie leads teacher training in Thailand and Bali and has certified over 190 students worldwide. Annie holds a bachelor's degree in human kinetics from the University of British Columbia. Specializing in yoga anatomy, she infuses anatomy knowledge in her yoga classes to help students practice more intelligently and avoid injuries. Annie has the ability to lead a dynamic class filled with inversions with a duality of restorative and healing sequences.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Word Smith has been practicing the esoteric or healing arts for 20 years. During this time, he has delved deeply into massage, yoga, Qi Gong, Chinese medicine, Buddhist philosophy, and internal martial arts. He holds a doctorate in medical Qi Gong, a bachelor’s in philosophy, a black belt in taekwondo, certifications in five body work styles, and a 500-hour of yoga teacher training. His teachers include Paul Pitchford, Michael Tierra, Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson, Geshe Michael Roach, and Sri Dharma Mittra.
