Whether you are new to yoga or meditation practices or a regular practitioner, this retreat will offer you a chance to step away from the tension of daily life. Every day, you will learn ancient wisdom practices that will positively influence your overall well-being as you shift gears mentally, physically, and emotionally into a space that is soothing, calming, and nurturing.
West Lexham Barn Retreat Centre, the place where you will be staying at during this retreat is a top-of-the-range retreat venue. Luxurious en-suite rooms are set around a courtyard adjacent to this yoga barn. They combine rustic charm with funky modern twists and all have under-floor heating and huge windows which flood the rooms with natural light. A cozy lounge space with log fires awaits you in the evening and there is an open plan kitchen area as well as a space built for yoga practices that will ensure a weekend of feeling nourished and cocooned.
Each day, you will gather together for 6 hours of practice to shift your awareness inwardly, holistically, and mindfully.
The morning practice will focus on active (Yang) and mindful movement practices. Emphasizing back care and core connection to promote strength and stability, you will learn how to fully integrate on a physical and energetic level for a skillful asana practice.
The afternoon practice will focus on earth-based (Yin) poses along with Restorative practices. Yin poses are held for some time with an emphasis on meditative mind states throughout and will include the teachings of Metta (loving-kindness).
The whole together time will be permeated with periods of silence and Mindfulness meditation practices along with journaling and theory of practice. This encourages a sense of ease in the body and mind that will empower emotional balance and C.H.A.N.G.E. (Compassion, Health, Awareness, Nurture, Gratitude, and Engagement). Yoga Alliance International (Yoga)
Ann has over 25 years of experience as a teacher in the health and wellness industry. Ann continued to study from world-class east and west yoga experts, attending teacher trainings as well as intensive and personal retreats in Europe and India. Along with attending MBCT (Mindfulness Behaviour Cognitive Therapy) and a 1-year SHR (Skilled Human Relationships) counselling course, Ann's interest in understanding the mind, body, and heart was set for life. She has also been teaching privately alongside physiotherapists and counselors providing holistic recovery for clients from injury, etc.

Wholesome vegetarian food with gluten free options will be offered with drinks and snacks served throughout the day. The meals will be served in a buffet style for breakfast and lunch. A sit-down meal in the evening will be prepared by a local chef. Any special dietary requirement will need to be requested and may incur a surcharge.
