All practice is tailored to guests' needs and abilities. There will be also time to walk on the beach, hike the Shrine Trail on the property, watch Lake Michigan sunsets, and more. The emphasis in this retreat is on relaxation and meditation.

You will be staying for three nights at the Vivekananda Retreat Center in Ganges, Michigan. They have hosted their retreats here since 1991, and a responsible, disciplined life is followed. There are single and double rooms in shared cottages, each with a shared bathroom (with 1-2 people). Safe for women solo travelers. Men and women stay in separate buildings.

Overview

The retreats are for total beginners and all who would like to experience classical yoga and meditation as a way of life, healing, and growth. Develop and refine your practice in an environment dedicated to peace.

Restore, renew, and relax! Make yourself the priority and take time to enjoy great yoga meditation in the beautiful Lake Michigan countryside minutes away from sandy beaches. This weekend is for you to practice self-love and self-care!

Program

Each day will begin with a yoga class in the main building or outdoors weather permitting. Meditation is an important part of this retreat and will be practiced sitting down (floor or chair), and also on the Shrine trail in nature on the property.

Each day will have an activity like making yoga art, or free time to do something that feels good to you!

The retreat starts on Thursday at 17:00 and finishes on Sunday at 10:00.

Retreat meals are vegetarian. Please let the organizers know in advance if you are allergic to a specific food type. Meat, eggs, or alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the premises. Bring any special food and medicines you need, also a water bottle to fill, and/or drinking water. Retreat Center water is well water.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
