"Beautiful rustic settings, lovely fresh home-cooked food, good company and conversations and friendly helpful staff. The yoga routine is designed to keep you occupied with a full day of yoga and meditation if you wish, if not there are plenty of other activities in and around the retreat center. I left feeling calmed, refreshed and definitely more centered. I would love to go back for longer!"

  • Review by Jessica

"I am very happy to write a review for Angkor Zen gardens and give them 10 out of 10. The location is good, far enough from town that most of the time all you hear whilst meditating are the crickets, the frogs and the birds, yet close enough to cycle in for lunch each day on one of the bikes provided by the center."

"The staff are lovely and did everything to make me feel welcome, the food is delicious and I learned a lot about different yoga practices, some of which I had never done before. I enjoyed the pool and felt reluctant to leave after 3 1/2 days as I was just starting to feel truly relaxed."

"I would like to add, however, that the information on the BookYogaRetreats website is inaccurate in that the retreat is advertised as 3 nights and 4 days, whereas it is actually 3 nights and 3 days, from 1 p.m. on the day of arrival until 11 a.m. on the day of departure, so in fact just under 72 hours. As it was low season I was able to arrive before 1 p.m. on the first day and join in with all the classes on the last day, but as breakfast was the only meal included on the last day I paid for dinner. I feel that it would be helpful to clarify that it is actually 3 days on your website. "

    "BookYogaRetreats response:"

"Thank you for the review that you have provided. We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay at Angkor Zen Gardens Retreat Center. The retreat is listed as 4 days / 3 nights as it is our standard format at BookYogaRetreats to include the arrival and departure days and we also make sure to indicate the Check In and Check Out time as well. We appreciate the feedback that you have provided as it will help us find ways to improve the listing on our website. Again, thank you for your helpful comments and we hope you will visit BookYogaRetreats for your future holiday plans.", edited

"Angkor Zen Gardens Retreat Center – is amazing! Me and my two friends had a great time, met very good yoga teachers, and we enjoyed 3 days there, which were full of yoga practice and meditation! The dormitory standards are very decent, beautiful, big garden, hot water in the showers and last but not least great food! For sure it is a place we can highly recommend."

"I had an amazing time at Angkor Zen Garden. It is located a little bit outside of Siem Reap, but you can rent a bicycle for free and it is a 15 minutes ride till you are in town. The bungalows are really nice, clean and cozy. The area is beautiful and the pool is awesome to relax after tough yoga classes. Both teachers Tammy and Katja are nice and professional. i enjoyed the partner yoga and laughter yoga a lot. It was so much fun! The food was also unbelievable good and healthy - so be careful it is highly addictive. All in all the stuff is nice. Marc, the manager helps you out for all needs and the teachers are amazing. Go for it, it is a great experience!"

"I went to Angkor Zen after spending a few months going around SEA. I had taken yoga classes here and there along my trip, and I practice more or less regularly before going on my trip. Angkor Zen was not only a fantastic place for practicing yoga and meditation, but it was also an amazingly peaceful place to rest and regroup. The pool is amazing, the food is great, people are nice and there are beautiful dogs and cats in the premises, and you´ll be surrounded by nature. It´s away from the tourists. It´s a peaceful place. I had the best back and neck massage here. Go here, you won´t regret it."

"Let me just start saying this place is perfect for a retreat. Great food, yoga classes, pool, free bicycle available, helpful staff and nature all around. I had a great relaxing and enjoyable time staying here. I just wish I could enjoy more the retreat but since I wanted to explore temples and city center as well I had to split my time here. Siem Reap is amazing. So happy I got to come to Cambodia and stay at Angkor Zen Gardens."

"I have just had the pleasure to spend 4 blissful days at beautiful Angkor Zen Gardens. What a relaxing and unforgettable experience. I am a regular yogini and I loved to attend many yoga, pranayama and meditation classes in a beautiful open air wooden hall (sala) surrounded by a magnificent garden. The atmosphere and silence were just perfect. A big thank you to the two outstanding and knowledgeable yoga teachers Bruna and François. What a pleasure to join their yoga classes. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and everybody was very friendly. Healthy and tasty vegetarian local food was a much appreciated energy booster. For those who want to enjoy a massage or relax at the pool, the resort also offers these facilities. I stayed at one of their single AC bungalows - simple but very clean and comfortable. After only four days, I returned home to Bangkok relaxed, energized and happy. A big thank you to the manager Marc and his staff! I hope to come back soon."

"I had an incredible experience at Angkor Zen Gardens. The guys who ran it are very welcoming, professional, and dedicated to what they do."

"I would recommend staying at the retreat for your entire stay (instead of using it as a source of food, shelter, and an occasional yoga class). "

"We stayed for 3 days and wished we could have extended. There are four yoga classes, meals, a tea time and an evening meditation class daily. There is a beautiful pool area and a communal space with a nice little library and good WIFI. They also offer massages (at an extra cost, only like 10 dollars!). The yoga classes varied from ashtanga to pranayama to Yin yoga to the Vinyasa flow class. I recommend attending EVERY class offered, you won't regret it!"

"The food was delicious! Even better, you feel amazing after you eat it! Breakfast consisted of yogurt, fruit, granola, toast and tea. Lunch and dinner were Cambodian style, vegetarian soups and stir fries with salad and rice. For dessert: mango, lychee, dragon fruit or watermelon!"

"I highly recommend Angkor Zen Gardens. It's affordable, authentic, invigorating and worth every penny! Five stars!" website, edited

"This is the perfect place; in a small Cambodian village just a short ride from bustling Siem Reap and the amazing temples of Angkor Wat. Simple, but comfortable, accomodation with really tasty local vegetarian meals provided, great yoga and meditation from Tammy and Katya; fabulous and great value massages from a local lady and a delightful salt water pool to cool off in. An additional bonus was the lovely sense of community engendered by the communal dining table and the other interesting and friendly guests. Would highly recommend it. "

"My 3 nights stay at Zen Gardens were truly energizing and relaxing. Yoga classes are great and always different and the teachers (Tammie and Katia) really make an effort to add variety to the schedule, considering that if you take part in every activity you will get four classes of yoga and one meditation per day. I did that and I felt amazing at the end of my stay. The food is delicious and Marc, the manager, is friendly and ready to help to organize whatever is needed (trip to the temple, tuk-tuk ride etc..). I stayed in the dorm room, which is rather basic but very clean, a very good deal for money. One of those place where I would love to return soon... "

"Simply put, this was one of the best holidays I've ever had. I travel a lot for work and this stay was the perfect antidote to the often sterile experience of business travel. Everything at this place is personal and charming. Meals are shared and it's a real chance to chat to other people at the dinner table. I won't say anything more about the food...check out the other's simply fantastic. Marc the manager is incredibly helpful and organizes everything for's, travel, onsite massages or whatever else you need. The swimming pool is a great feature and I swam a few laps every day...bring goggles! To ensure this will be what you want in a break, you should know the following:it is primarily a yoga and meditation retreat, the rooms very are simple, which fits with the point above, there are monks that sing a lot, starting very early in the morning...I found it charming, but if this is not for you, bring ear plugs! This is one of the few places I know for sure I will definitely return ."

"An oasis of tranquility and perfect paired with temples, the culture and history nearby. As I had been traveling around a lot I change my arrival day several times Marc the administrator was very kind and accommodating despite my messing things around. The gardens are tranquil and beautiful with paths leading to the stunning salt water pool."

"The main social hub where the tasty and healthy vegetarian meals are served is also the only area you can access WiFi which is wonderful as you can stay connected but switch off...surely the point now a retreat! The yoga teachers were wonderful offering different traditions of yoga and other practices. I stayed in the 3 bed dorm, rustic but clean, mosquito nets and fans provided. Yes there were mosquitoes but the retreat is in gardens in a hot tropical country so to be expected. There is a constant flow of people from all over the world, interesting conversations, relaxation and a general sense of being away from it all yet tuk tuks and tours easily arranged. Wonderful. Thank you. "

  • Review by Emily He from Beijing, China

"This was the experience of a lifetime and I left feeling well-rested, balanced, and physically and mentally stronger. My friend and I shared one of the standard bungalows for four nights. It wasn't a problem at all that the bathrooms were not attached to our bungalow. It was just a few steps away and never any problem sharing with others. Showers are clean, spacious and hot. There's a bucket for washing clothes and a drying line in the garden. Plenty of common areas for socializing or for alone time. Free bikes (a few minutes into town). and massages! The traditional Khmer massage was one of the best I've had during my months in SE Asia. Just don't take the slot right after lunch. And the salt-water if the entire thing wasn't relaxing enough...cooling off in the pool between sessions is pure heaven. We tried our best to attend every yoga and meditation session, although this is not mandatory and nobody will pressure you or judge you if you don't show up. I am a beginner yoga student, and I had never even attempted meditating before, but the instructors, Elizabeth and Tammy (such wonderful, knowledgeable, beautiful people) will explain, demonstrate and show you alternative poses if some are too difficult. As for meditation, Marc (another amazing individual who knows all of us by name) spent some time introducing its purpose and techniques before diving into the session. All the classes were suitable for me, a total beginner, and for others who have been practicing for years. The food. Wow. Mind-blowingly delicious vegetarian dishes prepared by the lovely ladies in the kitchen led by Risa. I stayed for every single lunch because it's just that fresh, tasty and healthy! Between lunchtime and dinner they serve tea and a snack, so you're never hungry. By the way, bring mosquito repellent and ear plugs! The yoga, the bungalow, the pool, the food, and the people (instructors, staff and guests alike) was really a complete and rewarding experience...a highlight of my three months in SE Asia and one that I'll never forget. "Well after much planning and waiting for the day to arrive , we made it to Angkor Zen retreat and it was a great way to start our holiday. We were made welcome by our tuk tuk driver and host Marco and settled into the studio accommodation. I cannot add much more to previous reviews as they say it all. The variety of food produced every day was amazing and very tasty. Vegetarian food is definitely not boring. The girls in the kitchen a delight and the yoga teachers especially Tammy was were so inspirational with their various teachings. I read previous comments about it being noisy but you are out in the villages and the noise is more chanting from the temples but after awhile you don't hear it. Besides you travel to other countries to experience different cultures and that is part of their culture. The pool was a welcome relief from the constant heat ...and met so many interesting people ... Love Angkor Zen and truly hope to come back again soon. Thanks Marco and the lovely girls in the kitchen and of course Nico the dog."

"I was looking for some mental rest and physical recreation. And Angkor Zen Gardens was a perfect place finding peace for body and soul. The combination of meditation and Yoga was perfect to focus on myself and my fundamental needs. The two Yoga teachers I've met during my stay, were well trained and enriched my life with useful suggestions as well physical as for a better understanding to deal with life. It's a paradise with beautiful plants, flowers, gorgeous butterflies and friendly cats and dogs. On hot days, the cold water in the pool guarantees refreshment. My wooden house was simple but very clean and I felt quite comfortable during my stay. Even I'm not vegetarian, I didn't miss any meat at all, because every day I've been surprised about the excellent vegetarian cuisine. I would particularly like to thank Marc for taking care and made me feel very welcome! "

"Amazing oasis in the country side of Siam Reap, had the best time, met amazing people, ate the most delicious vegetarian food and the resident yoga teacher when I was there was Laurence and he was fab with great classes covering a range of yoga styles which I loved. So happy I got to experience an area away from the hustle and bustle of the city center and to see a more local area. Had a lot of fun cycling in to town most days, it was manageable and a great ride. Amazing to hear the monks starting to chant in the early mornings before the first yoga class. Loved every minute of my stay and 4 days was nowhere near long enough! Oh and the pool take me back!!"

"I enjoyed my stay at Angkor Zen Garden Retreat Center. The staff was friendly and helpful. The manager was proactive about helping to get whatever you needed to make your visit pleasant, such as a tuk-tuk to get to town or arranging a massage, etc. The huts were adorable; could have used a bit more light in them. The schedule for yoga and activities throughout the day was great. The yoga classes were varied and well taught. The saltwater pool was wonderful. The vegetarian meals were excellent. The communal dining made for lots of interaction between guests. The only complaint I had was how loud the nearby venues were at night. A monastery as well as some venue with weddings played music loudly throughout the night, Bring earplugs. Overall, it was a great vacation. I wished I could have stayed longer."

Everything was great: Tammie and Katia, the two yoga instructors, were very enthusiastic and keen to create the perfect class for the day and climate. Bruno had me start meditation and get interested in reiki. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh veggie and always different- the home made breakfast was especially great. "Angkor Zen Garden Retreat Center was everything that I could have imagined, plus some. It was my first yoga retreat ever and it absolutely blew away any expectations. The people here are so kind and so helpful for anything you need. Oh my goodness the food; every meal was heaven! I was sad to leave because I wanted to eat that food forever. The yoga session and meditations were all different and kept you excited for the next class. Some examples of what we did while I was there: Sound Healing, Laughing/Partner Yoga, Trauma Release Exercise (TRE), Walking Meditation, Laying Meditation, Seated Meditation, Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and I even got a Reiki Healing session done! Each day was a surprise for what we would do and I absolutely loved every session. Angkor Zen Garden is also a short tuk-tuk ride to the Night Market/Pub Street if you feel the need to go out and explore Siem Reap for a day. They also have tour guides that will take you to Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, and the surrounding temples from the retreat center (from what I've heard, these guides are fabulous and highly recommended by everyone who had them). Overall, I was very pleased with my 4 day/3 night retreat and wished I could have stayed longer. I'm grateful for the experience that I had and everyone there that made it so spectacular. I would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone interested in learning a little more about yoga, meditation, and your own mind. :)"

"Had a great although a little tiring time at Angkor Zen. Although I practice yoga daily, I only do about 20-30 minutes at a time, so stepping up to four yoga sessions a day meant I was glad to go to bed at 9pm! However, you don't have to do all the sessions. There is no pressure to attend any sessions, and you can come and go from the retreat whenever you like. The food is amazing! Very delicious at all meals (and I had the lunch too). The staff are very helpful. Marc happily arranges whatever you choose for the day, whether it's a massage (recommended), a tuk-tuk ride into town, or a tour around the temples. The nightly circus (like cirque du soleil) is well worth seeing, and supports a good cause to educate locals. The yoga tutors change every few months. The two I had had different syles, so we practiced traditional yoga, laughter yoga (great fun!), partner yoga and a stress/trauma release style yoga. The tutors were very clear and helpful, and willing to chat any time. Cats, dogs and butterflies were plentiful, with a special yoga cat that joined in on a few sessions. Made the place feel more relaxed and like a home. Overall well worth a visit."

"The mayhem of siem reap was washed away pretty quickly after a few hours of being at Angkor Zen. I really felt more at peace and loved the beauty and the tranquility after the dusty and crazy streets of the city. The pool was beautiful, the bungalows simple and natural, and the food prepared by the great kitchen team was delicious. I also met some lovely people, and of course the yoga, pranayama, and meditation were there as and when you wanted to try. It was a relaxed pace and Marc was there on hand to book transport to the temples when needed. This was one of my favourite places to stay during a month of travel."

"We stayed at Angkor Zen Gardens Retreat, for 4 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The location was just 30mins by tuktuk from the airport and 20mins from Angkor Wat. The retreat itself was set in a beautiful garden surrounded by nature (they have 3 dogs, several cats/kittens, chickens, geese to name a few). It’s very much no frills, the basics, with simple bungalows and shared toilets and showers. But this is also part of the charm with a communal area for dinner, hanging out and wifi, as well as a saltwater swimming pool. One of the surprising highlights was the home-cooked vegetarian meals, which were delicious, enjoyed around one long table together with everyone at the retreat. We loved the fact that there were different people from all around the world sharing unique stories and experiences. Bruno (the owner) and Mark (the manager) are on hand and very helpful with any requests or logistics at these times. Yoga classes are scheduled throughout the day, varying from yin, pranayama to meditative. Don’t expect a vigorous ashtanga workout - the philosophy is much more spiritual and relaxing. If you’re looking for some peace and tranquility away from the chaotic, high-speed outside world and reasonable priced, then this place is perfect."

"My wife and I decided to leave the kids back home (Singapore) and spend a few nights here in conjunction with the half marathon. Not having the kids played a big part in how relaxing the break was, for sure, however I don't think we would have enjoyed our time in Siem Reap quite as much elsewhere.First off by far was the yoga. Each morning my wife an I had a lovely yoga session with teacher Elisa who is certainly one of the best teachers we have had. The setting is peaceful and Elisa was great in walking us through the session. Yoga was followed by a simple yet simply delicious breakfast. The setting of the Angkor Zen Gardens is very lush and they have a lovely garden. Dinner is also included and all is vegetarian which we enjoyed despite not being vegetarian. The team there is friendly and the yoga teachers delightful.I rarely give a 5 star but this one is worth it. A couple of cautions though. Firstly the place is just outside Siem Ream, which is was makes it so special, but it also means it is not walking distance to the town. Also, I think you can go there with kids but it seems to me that it is better suited for adults."

"I'm writing in the airport after a short stay at Angkor Zen Gardens. Pure bliss - you will not regret choosing this retreat! The yoga and meditation instruction is phenomenal, and you cannot beat the atmosphere. Which brings me to wax poetic on the grounds; this place is ALIVE with so much life! Butterflies everywhere. Playful kittens (one in particular that will attend each and every yoga class and snuggle for meditation), dogs, frogs, crickets, busy chickens, and a neighboring cow or two. All of this, plus the music from the village (much of it prayer music which is positively delightful) makes for a gorgeous soundtrack of ambient, relaxing noise. The pool is perfect and could be found in a 5 star resort. The plants are perfect, with bright flowers everywhere. The food, my goodness, the food. I can't stop thinking about it. They sound a gong when the meal is ready and I swear to you my mouth would water when it rang (very Pavlovs dog, eh?).Bruno and crew are wonderful hosts. They will arrange anything you need, including tuk-tuk tours to the Temples or anywhere else. They have excellent massages from staff onsite and they are fantastic. I had the hot oil full body massage for 60 minutes with Theary - highly recommend this. And the price at $15 cannot be beaten.Consider staying here instead of a cheesy hotel in Siem Reap - you will see a less-tourist trodden village, and find some real, honest to goodness peace of mind. I'm leaving entirely refreshed, educated and nourished. Thank you Angkor Zen!"

"This is probably the most personal review ever but me and my boyfriend went our own ways and I needed a place where I could put myself back together... Angkor Zen Gardens was just that.Despite the fact that I had badly sprained my ankle a couple of days before and technically could not travel, I needed to get out.The staff was absolutely wonderful in helping me get around on my crutches and ALWAYS helped me out to get my food to the table, bringing me tea and refills because I couldn't hold my crutches AND my plate at the same time. The yoga teachers Erika and Elisa are absolutely wonderful people - Elisa did a reiki healing session on me and again, it was exactly what I needed.I couldn't recommend this place enough - for the setting, the atmosphere, the delicious food and the wonderful people I met.The only thing I would change if it were up to me would be a different lunch arrangement - as for now lunch is not included in package and costs 8$ extra dollars, which for local standards is quite expensive. Since quite a lot of us were already stretching our budget to be there, we had to skip lunch for a couple of days, distracting ourselves by the pool.If there could be an option of soup or salad for 3$ per plate or something similar, it would have saved some of us growling stomachs ;)Overall though I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it, no matter your state of mind, your physical condition of the state of your heart. My ankle was sprained, my heart was broken and a I had a cold and yet I enjoyed all the yoga classes, the meditation, the delicious food and the AMAZING company.Thank you again for all the love."

"I have just left Angkor Zen Gardens after a 6 nights stay that was truly wonderful. From start to finish the unique atmosphere of peace and friendliness was unmistakable. The accommodation and gardens were great and added to the calm atmosphere. A special mention goes to the salt water swimming pool. The food was also amazing... very difficult to not keep coming back for second and third helpings. Most importantly the yoga classes were excellent, our instructors Elisa and Erica showed genuine passion and enthusiasm for yoga and had a accessible, unpretentious style that would suit the most experienced yogis as well as total beginners. They were also happy to chat about yoga and meditation over dinner which deepened the experience. In fact the staff were so open and friendly it seemed like one big family that was really special. My one piece of advice is to bring earplugs as the nearby village makes a lot of noise throughout the night. Overall ab extraordinary experience that will stay with me for a long time... The easiest 5 star rating I have made!"

"Angkor Zen, a special place just outside of beautiful Siem Reap, is the perfect place for a solo traveler looking for some downtime and relaxation. Besides the beautiful gardens, pool and delicious food, the classes at Angkor Zen are nothing short of amazing. With the guidance of helpful instructors you get to practice yoga and meditation in an open bungalow surrounded by nature. My stay here exceeded all of my expectations, from the people who work there and make you feel at home to the beautiful surroundings. I would recommend Angkor Zen to anyone and everyone!"

"I have stayed in Angkor Zen Gardens at the end of August but until now keep amazing memories and often day dream about coming back to this place. It is very conveniently located- only short drive by Tuk Tuk from Siem Reap. They also have bikes in the retreat so you can simply go there by yourself. Also, if courageous enough you may reach the temples by bike. I did this in between of yoga classes and this was time of my life! :)I was solo traveler, stayed in bungalow- it was very comfortable and authentic at the same time. The Gardens around are very well preserved with lots of detail, its a pleasure just to chill around there in between of yoga classes.Yoga classes have flexible schedules which is great for someone who wants to visit temples or go to Siem Reap in between. And the food! So amazing, 5 star quality, it's all vegetarian and after such quality and creativity, I decided to become vegetarian. It's unbelievable what you can eat as vegetarian, this retreat taught me about it!Also, the staff was very nice, the owner and manager, always around if you want to discuss about yoga or other matters!Overall, amazing place! Will try to be back soon!"

"This review is long overdue. I stayed at Angkor Zen in March 2015 initially with a friend and then solo. I had initially planned to only stay up to 3 days but ended up staying for over a week as I couldnt bear to leave this wonderful hidden oasis. I knew I would love this place after being dropped off to be surprised by the beautiful setting, which was a great contrast from the sweltering heat and noise of central Siem Reap. I highly enjoyed the dynamic yoga classes and mediation, which werent mandatory so offered us an opportunity to enjoy the city during the afternoon. Angkor Zen allows guests use of their bikes to go into the city, which is only 10 minutes away. Thanks to Bruno, his charming wife, James, Klara and the wonderful staff for a great stay."

"Hidden gem in AngkorI had an amazing experience here in Angkor Zen. I actually didn't expect the stay here could have given me so much positive impact. I just left Angkor zen today and I miss there already! As I already done with the temple and city visits before my stay in Angkor Zen, so I really tried to participate the sessions as many as possible. There are 4 yoga classes (inc.1 pranayama) and 1 meditation class per day by Bruno. I just love all the yoga and meditation classes I had here.Alex & Jessica are awesome teachers that even though I am new to yoga, I always feel supported as they give clear explanation for each poses and every one in the class are being well taken care of. I was also very inspired by Alex that during his sessions he always spent time to share his experience and the spiritual side of yoga. The yoga sessions not just helped me advance quickly but also nourish me from within. I am more interested in yoga now and would like to find out more by self-practice and study after this trip. I stayed in the dorm room and I really can't find anything to complain, as it is super clean and well organized (they even provided us 2 towels which are so convenient for swimming and shower!). It also equips with 2 fans so they help cool down a bit in the room. You can expect there will be noise and insects during the night and in the morning but they are acceptable and is normal in the wild. But these only make my experience in Angkor Zen more memorable and special. OH.. and the food...they are vegetarian and are simply AWESOME! Food have so much variety and I particularly love the breakfast in the morning that offers fresh organic fruit yogurt (also fresh bread with yummy homemade jam)! Breakfast, tea time and dinner are free and you can eat as much as you want. Lunch at 8 USD I originally thought it's quite pricey but once I tried it I knew all the dishes required a long time to prepared and are totally different from those $5 lunch I had in the city. Bruno, Marc, Jessica, Alex and all the other amazing staff (also the dogs and cats) here are those who make this place an excellent retreat."

"I went for a week to Angkor Zen, trying to get my zen back. Mission fully accomplished. The yoga practice is quite eclectic, depending on the teacher or time of day. Normally the morning starts with a more flow approach. There is a meditation class mid morning. After lunch there's normally a more relaxed, stretching class. After which we had another class were you work in depth your asanas, one or two per class. Food, veggie, quite quite good. Do go and enjoy. The pool is also a nice plus."

"Angkor Zen Gardens is a perfect place to recalibrate.. The location is ideal as it is out of the city but only a 10 minute easy bike ride into town. The bikes are free of charge and can even be rode to the temples! If you don't feel like biking the zen garden staff will simply call for a tuk tuk. The Zen Garden offers many yoga sessions and the two yoga instructors complemented each other's style. What made the stay even more relaxing is that if you needed to skip a session that was perfectly fine. I liked the freedom of choice with out the pressure. The instruction was very good. In addition they offer meditation nightly. If you are new to meditation you will be given a 15 min introductory talk. There was a positive energy there if you are sensitive to picking up on energies. What I especially enjoyed was the reiki session given by Bruno and the full moon celebration. Bruno is a caring owner who is concerned with making his place amazing. The salt water pool was clean and a perfect temperature. The food was simply delicious and breakfast and dinner are included in the price. I highly recommend the Zen Garden Retreat "

"My 5 day stay in Angkor Zen retreat has been a very pleasant one. The retreat is about 30 minutes by tuk tuk to all the temples. The accommodation was sufficiently clean and has met the basic expectation. I have had the best vegetarian food in Angkor Zen and this I must emphasise. Bruno and his team take very good care of their guests. Yoga and activities program is very good and the place has amazing energy. I would positively recommend Angkor Zen for all Cambodia travellers."

"I stayed at Angkor Zen Gardens Retreat center for 7 days in June 2015.It was the most relaxing and energizing week I had during my travels. The place is absolutely beautiful. The garden is very well treated and the huts are clean and cozy. The pool is perfect to relax between the Yoga classes. The vegetarian food is amazing as well as the ginger tea. The meals are taken on a big table, which is perfect to get in contact with the people staying at the retreat as well as the teachers and the staff. The staff in general is very nice and helpful. The Yoga classes take place in an open wooden hut. The teachers are very good and professional.I learned a lot and found a lot of motivation going on with my Yoga practice. There is enough time to discover Siem Reap and its beautiful country site as well as Angkor Wat and its surrounding temples. I would absolutely recommend this place for everyone who likes Yoga, nature and nice people."

"The retreat was perfect. It offers an excellent balance of yoga, meditation, pool time, and just good old fashioned lounging around in a hammock. My boyfriend and I are both beginners, and we found that the classes were small enough and personal enough to cater to our abilities or mood. A perfect way to take a break from the exhausting tourist activities! And the food was tremendous. We ordered lunch everyday."

"I stayed at the AngkorZen retreat for 7 days. Bruno was a lovely host and very patient with my many questions and travel queries- thank you Bruno! The teachers were great, and were good at catering for different levels of yoga student in the class. I also took one day to go an visit Angor Wat- its very easy to get there by tuk tuk- and all prices are pre-agreed so very easy- no hassle. the drivers of the yoga retreat are good guys, with variable English but reliable. The salt water swimming pool was absolutely amazing and is open 24 hours in case you feel like a moonlit swim (which I highly recommend). The food was absolutely delicious and there was lots of it! The weddings in the house next door were a bit noisy during the day but would always finish by 11PM. Not much you can do about it- but its also an interesting part of experiencing Cambodian culture. The centre had a fun atmosphere, very relaxed, we built a sense of community by the end of the week I learned a lot - by the end of the week I was very Zen.I was sad to leave and could have stayed a lot longer! Internet was a bit variable and we had one powercut which I actually quite enjoyed as we had to switch to candle light. I will go back again if I can find the time and money!"

"Angkor Zen Gardens was very helpful as they replied my enquiries promptly before I decided to make a reservation. They were also kind enough to offer transport arrangement to pick me up upon my arrival at Siem reap. The environment of the gardens was beautiful with natural and peaceful ambience. A swimming pool was built just before my arrival so I spent time swimming in between the yoga sessions which was very helpful for me to get rid of the heat. I stayed in a bungalow without A/C but there was a mosquito net to keep me away from insect bites during my sleep. My bungalow doesn't have a private bathroom so I was using a shared bathroom which was a few steps away.Yoga sessions were conducted at a semi-open but sheltered room surrounded by trees which really provided a peaceful and non-disturbing environment for meditation and yoga. Ramesh the Indian chef made very delicious vegetarian dishes. Although I'm not a vegetarian, I still enjoyed the meals which gave me the opportunity to detox my body during my 4D3N stay. Yoga teachers were very helpful and enthusiastic in teaching us yoga. They were able to teach according to my interest and level. (I usually practice vinyasa yoga)I'm glad I stayed in this place as the people, who are vegans themselves and have practiced yoga for a while, I met there and the natural environment really made me re-think about my lifestyle and that I can actually live a lifestyle as healthy as the one I had there. I went to this yoga retreat in July 2014"
