The Bowspring technique has been developed by Desi Springer and John Friend. It awakens the natural curves of the spine and takes you away from your flat, sedentary C-curve modern posture. It promotes a dynamic neutral position of the body and it is very therapeutic for people with pain in the lower back, neck, and shoulders.

The Bowspring practice is a natural template that can be applied to any yoga pose, athletic movement, or any functional posture for optimal performance. It provides a tremendous health benefit for body, mind, and heart, including:

  • Increased self-awareness of psycho-emotional patterning within the body default posture
  • More curves - narrowing waistline and raising gluteus
  • Springy lightness and fluidity in any movement

Retreat location

The retreat will be held in Amorgos, an island with intense Cycladic character, and is located on the southern side of Cyclades. Surrounded by the blue sea of the Aegean, Amorgos amazes visitors with the serene atmosphere, the picturesque villages, the crystal beaches, and the pure nature. In fact, Amorgos is a great island for trekking, as trails pass by ancient sites, secluded beaches, and tiny chapels, and give gorgeous view to the sea. Aegiali is located on the northern side of Amorgos. It is one of the two ports that connect Amorgos to the port of Piraeus (Athens) and other Cyclades islands.

Although Aegiali is the most popular tourist place of the island, it keeps authentic its traditional character. The calm vibes and the natural beauty of Aegiali amaze visitors at first sight. The large bay gives a long crystal beach to swim. This beach is lined by delicious fish taverns, beach bars, and seaside cafeterias with a great view to the Aegean. This is the biggest beach on the island, with soft sand and clear waters, starting from the port of Aegiali following the shape of an arch. It is ideal for anyone, including families with children. The inner road of Aegiali has tourist shops, mini markets, and other facilities to cover all needs of visitors.
