Join this yoga teacher training in the heart of Luxor, by the banks of the Nile overlooking the temples. This training is unique and the first of its kind. It focusses on postures and meditations that were taken from the ancient temples of Egypt. Aside from the postures and meditations, you will journey shamanically for 28 days going into a very potent alchemical journey of the self.
You will stay at Al Baeirat Hotel which is located along the Nile River within a banana plantation. It is built of country-specific architecture with a domed structure which is traditionally made of clay. Off the beaten track, you can enjoy the silence and the Egyptian style in a private and friendly atmosphere. For relaxation, it offers a wonderful swimming pool directly on the banks of the Nile.
Kemetic Yoga is the ancient Egyptian system of yoga enlightenment based upon the practices of physical movements combined with controlled deep breathing and meditation. The modern version of this ancient system was developed from primary research conducted by Dr. Asar Hapi and Mr. Yirser Ra Hotep (Elvrid Lawrence) from Chicago, USA during the 1970’s.
Kemetic Yoga is a healing and regenerative yoga system that is characterized by a series of geometrically progressive postures. The postures create an alignment of the spinal column, correcting the defects in the skeletal muscular system and treating common lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes.
They relieve stress, increase blood circulation, and supply nutrients and oxygen to vital body systems, allowing a more effective flow of abundant energy throughout the entire body and efficient flow of cerebral fluid in the spine.
This retreat includes visits to Egypt's sacred temples: Temple of Abydos, Temple of Hathor Denderah, and Karnak Temple Luxor.
The temple of Karnak, known as Ipet-isu or “most select of places” by the ancient Kemetians, is a city of temples built over 2,000 years and dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. This derelict place, which in its day must have been awe-inspiring, is still capable of overshadowing many wonders of the modern world.
Abydos is one of the oldest cities of ancient Kemet (Egypt) and the eighth nome of Upper Egypt. Considered one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt, the sacred city of Abydos is the site of many ancient temples. Today, it is notable for the memorial temple of Seti I.
Dendera is located about 60 kilometers north of Luxor on the west bank of the Nile River opposite the provincial modern town of Quena. You will visit the Temple of Dendara which is considered one of the best-preserved temples in Kemet, (Egypt).
