"Excellent meditation and pranayama retreat"
I loved this retreat. I chose this retreat to learn about pranayama and to experience meditation regularly and intensive for a week. I wanted to experience... And I’m happy, I really got what I came for. Practise started at 6am and we had three 3-hour sessions every day, so it was very intensive and also very fruitful. After every practise I was instructed to now observe. So my learning was not by memorizing spoken words, it was by experiencing and observing the effects.
Somashekar, who led this retreat, is really doing a good job. He is impassioned about what he is doing and happy to answer questions.
During the week we practised at beautiful and peaceful spots in the nature: next to a waterfall, on the top of a mountain with beautiful views, in a big cave, on the banks of the Ganges river, in the forest, and on the rooftop terrace of my accomodation with a view over Rishikesh’s thousands of lights lighting up the night.
My accomodation was in Pratham Homestay in a small village 15 minutes from Rishikesh. It was simple and very peaceful. My room and private bathroom was clean and there were mosquito nets in all the windows, so I could sleep with windows open and fall asleep to the sounds of the surrounding nature. The food was traditional indian food cooked with fresh veggies grown in their garden, really yummie.
I learned a lot this week, and still there is so much to explore. I loved this retreat, and I hope to go back for another week soon.
