About the program

The three major styles of the practice — yoga through breathing, yoga through postures, and yoga through meditation — are all geared toward self-discovery and emancipation. Hatha yoga is a style of yoga that primarily emphasizes breathing exercises. The technique used to manage breath is called pranayama. A few of the pranayamas that are frequently performed during yoga retreats are Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom, Brahmri, etc.

In yoga, a position is known as an asana. Asana practice is a part of several types of yoga, including Hatha and Ashtanga. Each pose aims to settle the practitioner's mind and hold it still for varying lengths of time, either directly or indirectly. In contrast to other forms of exercise, asanas are reviving and focus on restoring equilibrium to your mind, body, and soul. The most popular ones include Tadasana, Vrikshasana, all Surya Namaskar postures, Trikonasana, and the relaxation stance Savasana.

Yoga through meditation comes in a variety of forms, such as sound meditation, music meditation, object-focused meditation, and body-traveling meditation, all of which are intended to increase attention and promote relaxation. Some yogis believe that yoga through breathing serves as a warm-up for yoga through posture and yoga through asanas serves as a preparation for meditation, which are all meant to rejuvenate the yogi.

All three styles of yoga are practiced during a retreat at the Ananda Yoga and Wellness Center, and an Ayurvedic diet is an essential part of it. During the retreat, a typical day at the facility will consist of two yoga classes and a meditation session. Throughout the retreat, you will have the chance to speak with the yoga instructors and Ayurvedic doctors outside of sessions. You can use it to identify the ideal dietary regimen and yoga poses for your conditions. They prioritize quality over quantity, thus the retreat groups are small so that the trainers may focus on each person's unique needs and issues and refuel themselves holistically.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flights to either Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) or Jolly Grant Airport (DED). Transfers from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) are available for an additional cost of 70 USD. Transfers from Jolly Grant Airport (DED) are available for an additional cost of 18 USD. Arrival by bus

The bus ride will take you about 45 minutes.

Arrival by train

The nearest railway station is in Haridwar, which is located about 25 kilometers from Rishikesh. Haridwar is linked to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

Some of the popular trains are Shatabadi Express, Jan Shatabdi, AC Special Express, and Mussoorie Express.

For those making the journey to Rishikesh, they recommend taking a train until Haridwar and then either taking a bus or taxi to Rishikesh.

The taxi will take you to Rishikesh in about 30 minutes.
