We invite you to have a life changing experience for your body, mind and spirit. This is a very special retreat designed to help you to develop an overall wellness program, which you can integrate into your life. Well teach you practical approaches to common issues, such as stress, and weight management through healthy eating, and a yoga program which includes not just the physical postures but breathing, meditation, and special relaxation techniques.

The yoga retreats are held in Ananda Suruci Master Unit; a spiritual eco-village located near Yujing in southern Taiwan. The retreat center is a large attractive building with five dormitories accommodating six persons per room; males and females separately. Sleeping mat, pillow and bed sheet are provided.

All guests will have access to free high-speed Wi-Fi internet access. The beautiful gardens are inspired by the surrounding landscape. There are several platforms overlooking lotus ponds, where you can meditate or just relax and enjoy the view.

Yoga for all-round health. The yoga classes are suited to people of all levels. The combination of gentle moving, stretching and twisting together with deep breathing provide greater body flexibility and deep relaxation. Through the practice of yoga, one can find an inner peace and stillness, which reduces the toxic effects of stress and anxiety.


Meditation is the yoga practice that helps a person to develop mentally and spiritually. There are many forms of meditation, but the meditation taught at Ananda Marga Yoga Retreats is based on the principle "as you think so you become". In meditation, one should concentrate one's mind on a positive and uplifting thought. If one does this on a regular basis it leads to a profound state of peace and harmony.

Our instructors, who have years of experience, will show you how to meditate using proven techniques that will enable you to withdraw your mind from the distractions of the "outside" world and concentrate within.

Meditation quiets the central nervous system, lowers blood pressure by as much as 20% and has a profound effect on physical health. In addition the regular practice of meditation builds up a person's capacity to pay attention and learn anything, making it the best form of mental exercise.

As the mind is drawn within we experience a deeper sense of peace and harmony with life by concentrating on the infinite. With a calm body, a controlled mind and a blissful spirit, we become more ideal human beings, who are ready to render dynamic social service to the world

The venue we are currently using is near Yujing, Tainan county in southern Taiwan. It is a well-equipped retreat center with beautiful gardens and organic farm. The setting encourages outdoor activities such as walks and breathing clean fresh air - just what the doctor ordered.

A cleansing and rejuvenating menu has been specially designed for our retreat guests by our nutrition expert. The menu is nutritionally balanced and prepared according to the sattvic (sentient) principles of the delicious vegetarian food served at Ananda Suruci. Through diet, yoga and meditation we will give you the tools required to naturally regulate the hormones in the body, and reduce strain on the adrenal system.

Arrival by bus

From Taipei or Taoyuan airport, you can take a bus to Tainan which costs 220 TWD (7.50 USD) and takes about 4 - 5 hours. At Tainan, you can either:

Take a taxi direct to the eco-village, (about 1 hour and costs about 950 TWD - 32 USD). You can ask the driver to call us for directions.

Take a bus: Near the train station (No. 182 Zhongshan Road) there is a local bus to Yujing. It takes 70 minutes and costs 125 TWD (4.25 USD)

When you reach Yujing (or better still - before you leave Tainan), please call us and we will come and meet you at the bus station (10 min from Ananda Suruci)

Arrival high speed rail

From Taipei airport, you can take the free shuttle bus to the HSR Taoyuan station and take the train to Tainan. The trains run every 20 minutes and the journey takes 1 hour 24 minutes (costs about 50 USD). At Tainan station, you can either:

Take a taxi direct to the eco-village, (about 40 minutes and costs about 30 USD). You can ask the driver to call us for directions.

Take the free shuttle bus to Tainan city, where you can take the local bus to Yujing (as above)
